Got my Captain Falcon in the mail from Toys R Us just now, thanks to a tip from GAF. I feel bad for the collectors who got their amiibo in a bubble mailer, because TRU packaged this one in a box and he arrived in pristine condition:

Received my Marth and WFT from Amazon.de today. So it took about 10 days from ordering to receiving. Shoot I've had US packages take that long or longer honestly. Not bad at all. I'm still waiting on two villagers ordered at the same time though.
Anyway, perfect condition, I am very happy. The box was kind of fragile though like it was falling apart and all the packing consisted of was crumpled brown paper, but it did the job.
I got to say both of these figures look great in person. Seeing them online in pictures doesn't really do them justice. I'm sure they'd look even better opened up, but no!

Been able to resist the urge to pick up Peach, Zelda, & Pikachu for the time being since I wanna save up money for Wave 3. Thankfully, I got $25 for GS now so probably will go towards Mega Man & if I'm lucky, Shulk if they have a few extras shipped with all the pre-orders. Otherwise, either I'll get Dedede or use the money towards Kirby & The Rainbow Curse.

Thank you! I had that movie on my list to buy since I need to pick up 4 Studio Ghibi blurays soon before they are going to release other 3 in couple of months.
I just watched it last week because my Family Video sent me a free rental coupon. For Miyazaki's last film before he retired, you can tell he put a lot into it, especially since he enjoys the older style of airplanes.
To get back on topic, I guess the Wave 3 characters that I'll be focusing on are Dedede, Meta Knight (since I'll most likely get Rainbow Curse & could use them), Sonic & Mega Man (fan of those 2 franchises). Already have Sonic paid off, will probably get MM pre-ordered or bought on release day, & a friend of mine might be able to get Meta Knight for me.
Characters in my maybe pile are Bowser (I could see him being used for some Mario titles), Rosalina (again, possible Mario stuff + exclusive), Shulk (I like him as a character + exclusive, but wonder if he'd work in Xenoblade for New 3DS), & Ike (one of my mains in SSB, but not sure what else he'd work in).
Part of me wishes I waited on Toon Link since Wind Waker was my first Zelda game so I have a bit more fondness for him compared to regular Link. Don't care for Sheik (wish he did more in HW) & Lucario (not a Pokemon fan & I'd only get Pikachu since he's the only Pokemon outside of Charizard & a few others I still care for).

Ah thanks. I was trying to figure out an Avatar that I could rep Amiibos with. I kind of had a hard time finding an Amiibo one that I liked (avatar size). So I opted out for something Ghibli related, since it's one of my favorite things. I changed my avatar a bunch of times, trying to see what worked.
But I'm going to settle on this one. It's a really beautiful scene from The Wind Rises. And I think it looks good with the Amiibo logo.

For in-store pick-up. He's been like that for quite some time, & you gotta hope there's a Best Buy around that has him, because I'm pretty sure all the ones in Michigan don't have him.
Neither are perfect, but hey. I like 'em.
Only issue I have with DK is that his stand looks like a toilet seat. The fur is top-notch for the price.

I mean, I just legit paid $60 for Marth. Consider that. If you can actually get these for $12 a pop, I would legit by 6 of them.

I'm really worried about getting a Shulk Amiibo. Given GameStop's track record for limited items I will also probably try to swing by early in the morning on day 1.

Target opens at 8am for me. So I'll go there to get Rosalina. She's my favorite character, so she means a lot to me on that level. I want her badly.
Best Buy then open at 10am. So I should be able to make it down there at 10 to try to nab him. BUT Gamestop also opens at 10am. SO THERE IS THE PROBLEM.
Do I go to Gamestop first, or Best Buy first. I've heard horror stories about Gamestop being bad with stock. So maybe I should just go there first and try to get Meta after the fact. It really sucks that scalpers are going to be going to these stores just to buy everything up. I get, people have the right to make money. But come on. Leave at least a couple for the folks that just want to collect and don't want to sell.

If TRU handles their exclusive amiibo the same way they handle they're exclusives for Disney Infinity and Skylanders, they should theoretically be overflowing. I guess it mostly depends on Nintendo though.

I work at the headquarters for a major retailer. We would love it if Nintendo had more amiibo for us to supply to customers.
Same here. I have only seen Zelda, Luigi, and Diddy of Wave 2 in stores. There aren't even empty spots for Captain Falcon, Little Mac, or Pit.

I'm still looking for what I like best. I initially stacked them, but I didn't like cutting off the picture of the characters below. Then I lined them up for a bit on a different shelf. Didn't like that too much since the shelf was too high and out of view. Things are set up like this at the moment. I really like it, but would, again, prefer not having any stacking haha.
I think, if you have the space, doing multiple half-circles could be neat.
Is this because of the port strike or due to Nintendo simply not making enough?

Are you sure GameStop opens as 10am for you though? Assuming the 2/1 date is legit, that's a Sunday and my local GameStop's open at 11am on Sundays.
..so for me, I have a bit of a different issue. Target opens at 8am, while Best Buy and TRU open at 10, and GameStop opens last at 11. The nearest TRU is 30 minutes away with a Best Buy in the same lot, while there's both a Target and GameStop right near me in the same lot. But there's also both a Target and GameStop at the same intersection as TRU and BB. So do I just go to the far location and hit them all up at once around 11 when GS opens and risk missing out on some of the exclusives, or do I hit up everyone at their respective opening times (which is way too much driving/waiting around between opening hours), or something else? WAI NINTENDO

It's not true. Trust me, I've been pestering Toys R Us and they're online stock is misleading.
That being said I just posted my latest Amiibo Hunting episode and I can confirm Villager is in stock!. Not only is he in stock, but there's an abundance of him stock. Check out my video, it's the kind of thing that'll make everyone in this thread cry considering he's been talked about a lot in the last 4 pages. I also talk about Toys R Us online and their misleading website. (I was supposed to put the video up yesterday but I've been seriously busy).
If you have a Wii Fit Trainer in stock in your locals Toys R Us, I'd happily trade one of my Macs, Marth and/or Villager for her!

Just checked one of the Targets in Tallahassee, had all the standard amiibos (Mario, Luigi, Zelda, Peach, Kongs)

As much as I'd like to collect them all, I'm just going to grab some favorites. I got Captain Falcon because I asked the guy at target to hold me one. I'm pretty impressed and looking forward to training him up to level 50. I also love speeding around Mariokart 8 in my Captain Falcon suit and Blue Falcon.
Honestly, the stock situation with Amiibos in inner Sydney, Australia is fucking ridiculous though. Literally everywhere is sold out of everything. I personally work in supply chain and I don't know how Nintendo has managed to fuck this up. People could lose interest if they don't rectify the situation.

This is why I like this thread. I didn't know it was a Sunday. You are right, it is 11am for me. That actually makes it easier for me, as I have more time to hit up Target and Best Buy first, and then get over to Gamestop at 11am.

I can hit all 3 stores in a row. AND they are all next to each other. That said, this is assuming these stores even get stock. Also, who's to say that scalpers won't be lined up early just to buy it all out. So many factors I have zero control over. =/
I hope the closer we get to the release, we will know 100% that it will be out on the 1st. I would feel more at ease, if I knew the exact day I need to go. I have a GAF friend on the East Coast that is going to stay in contact with me. Since he's 3 hours ahead, he will go to his stores to grab them. And he will try to grab extras of the exclusives. If he can't get some, I'll know to get the one's he's missing.
So working with another person can be helpful.
Both are bestsellers, people just can't get enough of them.
I wish Nintendo provided more amiibos, I import them to Mexico to sell them and its such a pain in the ass to get enough, people really want them here too, it doesn't help that I'm the cheapest option available when local stores like Sanborns and Sears pretty much just have Mario and Peach.
