On one of them, it looks like the pain is kind of bad on the right hand (you can see it looks kind of...chipping. But I'm not seeing full on gray color).

Now THIS picture shows exactly what I'm talking about. His right hand color doesn't match his left. Looks a bit worse on mine.

I guess I didn't catch it. didn't notice, personally. Maybe they just did a bad job with the paint. Now that I look again, I can see what you mean about it looking off color wise. But when you said Gray, I thought you meant full on gray (like the pain was missing) or it was like 100% different color. Very strange though.

Just bad quality on this one I suppose.

It looks so good. The face cut-out is such a great idea.

I would amiibofy avatars, but I probably won't have access to GIMP on the desktop until tomorrow at some point. Just the logo, right?

Just checked my Pit. His fingers are indeed suffocating. Either we both got unlucky or it's just how they are.

Indeed, it pretty much looks like they forgot to paint one hand. Looks like I'll have to take matters into my own hands! Anyone know where to get good-quality paint to use on figures?

Yikes. Well that is now 3 people saying their right hand is off. I get my Pit in next week. I'll let you guys know if mine has it. But at this point, if that many are saying it, then it seems they just didn't match the right hand with the right shade of color. Quality issue.

Just checked my own Pit AND the extra one I have. Right hand looks a little darker than the left on both of them, probably due to him holding his weapon in it and the paint involved.

Looks fine to me though, it's a very small difference you wouldn't be able to tell looking at it directly without really good lighting.

Double edit: My friend has one and says he doesn't have the pain issue you have (what was shown in that pic). But a GAF poster below says they have it too. STRANGE. Guess Pit Amiibo had some issues with quality.

Woah man, way to go on the cancer! I've only recently become a member (thanks to the amiibo threads, haha), so I am still getting used to who's been a long timer. Glad you are back, and even more glad you are a part of the amiibrotherhood! I can vouch for the baseball bat case at Michael's I bought two of them, and I love how they look. Just got them both put up in my room, I'll be sure to get pictures up once I open the rest of my amiibo and have them on display!
 
How common is Luigi in your area? I've seen a store around here that has 16+ left of them. If something is that common, I don't really think I should rush to pick it up.

I went to 4 stores in So Cal, none of them had them. But Amazon had Luigi in stock, so I got it for $12 from them.

That said, I don't live in a major City. I live in the Suburbs 1 hour and 45 min away from LA. So maybe my stores don't get as much in stock wise (that scares me for the exclusives coming up). But yeah, Luigi was not in stock.

EDIT: Then again, like all of the stores display cases for Amiibos were ravaged. So they must have sold out. A lot of the spaces were just empty. They had the main 5 though.

It's not actually all that bad unless its been pointed out. It looks more like a case of them not wanting to bleed the hand's color over into the weapon. Color seems the same, but not fully filled in. Of course, since we all know about it now every Pit will look off. :p

And hey man, thanks for the avatar edit! Will switch over as soon as I get up tomorrow. Brother uses our desktop from the hours of 12AM to... about 3AM, typically... I should totally get him to watch for Amiibo in those morning hours hah.

Just saw 2 Luigi's today at Best Buy on El Segundo in Manhattan Beach. I just sat there looking at them and then walked away. Did I do something wrong?

No, you are fine.. Amazon still has them in stock for $12. And other places still have them in stock a plenty. That said, who knows anymore with how Nintendo is handling them. I would like to think they would always restock Luigi. And that Luigi in general has more stock than other amiibos. But again lol who knows.

As of now, Luigi can still be found. You are fine. He's very common. The rare ones are Marth, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Little Mac. If you see one of them, buy all of them! But chances are you wont see them again unless you get lucky.
 
Um regarding the Pit paint, it's probably because the right arm is a separate colour plastic, it's probably brown and a separate piece. They painted flesh over that because brown is the main colour of the weapon.

I can't confirm this because unless I find another Pit I probably won't open mine. :/ I wanted 2.
 
Every Wal-Mart around here just put the first wave out two weeks ago. One week ago in a certain store's case. Feels like they all run under their own accord rather than a corporation.
 
Anyone use nin-nin before? Just preordered shulk and metaknight and picked fedex for shipping. Do I have to do anything else shipping wise? It said 2to 3 days shipping but that cant be right. Thanks amiibros
 
anyone else with creative uses of the packaging?
still trying to figure a nice way to display them. just putting them all in a clear container for now

beneath a huge pile of mario, luigi, pikachu and captain falcon amiibos I found this gem:

some random kid actually grabbed it before me and handed it over to his clueless new-gen dad; who threw it back into the pile saying "who's that? get a better one"

They can get things to you very fast if they have them in stock. Nin-nin got me a Nintendo 3DS at pretty good speed, though it was delayed slightly by them waiting to get it in to ship me it.
They said it takes 3-4 business days to ship something and then 2-3 business days to get it. I ordered mine on September 2nd, it shipped on the 9th, and I got it on the 11th. So about 9 days turn around time.

Hey man, I hate to be a bother, but... with the whole amiibro/amiigal unity movement, I decided to go back to my original avatar. Any way you could add the amiibo marks somewhere around my Substitute? I really appreciate you going out of your way to put them on my other avatar like that though!

Wow that is fast. The japanese amiibo come out in 2 weeks so I may get them before they come out in the US

Funny enough, the angle of your avatar, made it kind of hard for me to get the logo to line up in a way that didn't look weird (like from an angle point of view). Maybe I'm just tired. Well, if you don't like it, I can try to work on it tomorrow after I get up.

I'm so effing pissed. I was the store with my Dad when I was looking through the Amiibo section, right underneath a pile of Mario, Luigis, Pikachu and Captain Falcons, was a Little Mac. Imagine! One of the rarest Amiibos in my hand, then my Dad threw it away saying "I should get a better one". He had no idea what he had done and I tried to explain who Little Mac was.

I use this baseball case for my Amiibo and Disney infinity and I think it looks fantastic! They're also really easy to take out for play... You know if you're into that sort of thing :D
 
I'm getting worried! Dedede, Sonic, Shulk, Meta Knight and Mega Man are still not available for pre-order in Germany. Some wiki states that they are part of Wave 4 in Europe. But I can't find any confirmation.

Since i'm so hyped and overexcited about the Amiibos my GF took her turn this morning. The following is NSFW:

I told her that i'm getting nervous about Dedede, Shulk etc. And she knows that I'm happy that I got the Ambassador mail from Nintendo regarding the New 3DS and that only a few people received this invitiation.
She responded: "Maybe they are doing a kind of raffle with these Amiibos, too. Too bad you got the Ambassador invitation already. Chances are low you get invited soon again." And she was laughing at me seeing my poor face. Relationships can be so hard!

Yeah, mine is like that too. I think it just has to do with the light colored paint over what looks like black plastic?

EDIT: Oh, and I'll add the amiibro symbol to my Oliver Queen later today ;P

Amiibros,

I'm worried about the Marth I ordered from Amazon.co.uk. Today is the last day in the range of dates I was given expect to receive this. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Also, my Pit arrived from the TRU cancellation/reinstation fiasco and the paint job is pretty poor. Paint chipping on the knees, hands, and some smears on his clothes.

I can confirm this is true based on UK dates. I expect the rest of Europe to be the exact same which would explain why the 5 you mentioned are unavailable to pre-order.
 
The only Amiibo I haven't seen in the wild ever is Little Mac. My friend got me one at the Nintendo World Store, and my order of him came threw from Bestbuy.com, but every time I went to a local store, TRU, Best Buy, etc. Nada.

The other ones I purchased all in store, including Marth, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer when the Nintendo Store had a slight 3 hour restock. LOL.
