New Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer

Most beautiful game I've ever seen, seriously.
And before anyone moans, i don't say best looking, or best graphics tech, i say most beautiful. Monolith Soft did an awesome job.

This trailer suffers from the No Man's Sky Syndrome: Just what the fuck do you do in this game besides walking/flying around in huge gorgeous environments? Dear developers/publishers: That is NOT motivating.

Wrong.

People know how Xenoblade plays because of the one on the Wii. It was a well received game that the majority of people that played really liked. People do not know how No Man's Sky plays and it is made by a small team so people doubt it. (plus the whole randomly generated planets thing)

Nowhere in the video title, description, or even the video itself is it written that this trailer is meant to showcase only a specific portion of the game.

Regardless they did the same thing with the first Xenoblade, so it's only natural for them to do the same thing with it's sequel. Especially with how grand the environments are.

Besides I'm one of those who doesn't want EVERY feature spoiled in a trailer, so I tend to only watch a little bit before shutting the window down.

EDIT: NOE's fault

Environments look great. Characters are on a level of generic rarely seen, blah. Don't know a lot about the game, so maybe that can be changed.

Has an MMO feel to it. Definitely interested.

I'll gladly take low polygon faces if I can explore such big ass worlds.

When playing Xenoblade Chronicles it was only weird at first, but after a while you just don't care anymore.

was hoping for more than environments from this...Im so hoping to enjoy this game, but the quest structure and combat from xenoblade needs a hardcore overhaul and we've seen almost nothing

Well this not being the first Xenoblade game to exist, people who have played the previous one pretty much have a very good idea of what one will do in this game.

Iwata has mentioned in a couple of directs the combat system will be improved from the first Xenoblade, so we know they will play similarly.

Treehouse demo from E3 where the game is demoed for about 45 minutes, with some talk about the game, it's combat system, story, etc.

I was loving everything in the trailer then it zoomed in on the faces and I did my best Plinkett impression as I shouted "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE"

But yeah. Pretty hyped. Anybody know who the composer of the music is? Trailer song was great, it sounded like something out of the Attack on Titan OST.

They are able to make absurdly epic landscapes, but not creating decent faces.

Fuck. Hope they change it, they had better stayed with the old Xenoblade style. The realistic style makes it look worse.

The style of the faces looks the same as the first game to me, just better looking graphically. The ones from the first game were practically 2D sprite textures.

Any idea if it will be possible to play it co op? Seems like the kind of game that would be suited for it.

It feels like half of the questions in XCX threads can be answered by "Did you play Xenoblade?".

About the question, we don't know yet, they've confirmed online feature for this game, but never said what it is. Don't bring up the teaser trailer, that's old story.

E3 Treehouse
30 minutes to an hour of footage

Better to check those out for more details than look for them to explain it in a 1-2 minute trailer

Just so we are all clear here, that is a custom character.
I am going to believe they made him so awkward looking to keep him as neutral as possible (aka there wouldn't be a 'poster boy' design everyone would end up copying). I hope the character creator allows for some nicer looking faces, lol.

Combat is indeed getting revamped (I believe level gated accuracy is gone now) and we also has range options and different styles of play in Mech and on the ground.

And remember, during the original Xenoblade trailers, they showed half of the potential environments pre-release.

It's the same composer.

The female singer sounds like it could either be Anneke van Giersbergen (from The Gathering and Globus) or Lisbeth Scott (from Globus)

To people posting about the game looking empty, the original Xenoblade was packed with a variety of enemies, collectibles, secret locations, multiple villages full of NPCs, and NPCs scattered throughout outside of villages. The game gives you plenty of reasons to go explore these things by giving you XP, armors, weapons, skills, gems, secret cutscenes, and shit tons of quests (many checklist variety but some unique). You can also build affinity between playable characters so they share their skills, as well as view the changing relationships between NPCs as the story progresses and quests are completed.

I'm not concerned about the content at all. It might look more spread out because of faster travel via god damn flying, transforming mechs, but the content should still be there.

And in addition to all that, this trailer shows off the gorgeous world filled with variety and great art design. I'm fucking stoked.

Honestly I wish the game was more saturated and colorful. Colors seemed washed out and remind me of early PS3/Xbox360 games. Pretty unappealing, but it may just be me.

The scale of everything looks awesome though. And yes, the main character face looks dumb, but apparently it's an avatar so whatever.

Really excited for this game for some reason. I haven't played the first Xeno game but I"m going to be picking up a New 3DS and play it on there. Depending on I like it I might get this one as well. Looks amazing so far.

Great look at the environments, wish we got more looks at the combat and questing. Lol faces, but everything else looks great so I'll get over it.

Now THIS is a world I am eager and feel very compelled to explore!

Hey WRPG devs. Show some creativity in your worlds! Take a break from trying to make everything look "realistic" (ie. inspired/influenced by some real-life locale). Sometimes a bit of imagination goes a long way! It looks like it will be time again...

The game is probably amazing - and the scope looks massive - but visually it's honestly not that impressive. I'll still day 1 it because I'm craving a new jrpg, but this trailer did nothing to make it shine graphically.

Xenoblade spoilers
Earth existed in the creation of the Xenoblade universe, it is seen being destroyed in the beginning of X. The games aren't connected.

Xeoblade spoilers-
Unless there some kind of absurd connection like the planet they land on in X is actually the newly created Xenoblade world from the end of Xenoblade.
