Not everyone in here is excited they are straight port's. Not everyone is exited that they can't play the game control wise like they want to.
I never said people couldn't be happy about re-releasing the games on digital store. Go re-read some of my post's, I clearly make positive notes that I think it's s great opportunity to revisit the game , or play it for the first time if you never owned a Wii.
But the fact this announcement came from Nintendo DIrect and people are excited to play SD port's, when you can look at Wind waker HD, just doesn't equal how excited people are in this thread.
Okay, so you are just thread whining. Im sorry people arent at the acceptable level of excitement for you. If you read through most of the thread, as I have, youll notice that the thing people are most excited about is the price and availability of games that were very hard to find and very expensive, especially outside of the US.
Some people actually are not as ECSTATIC as you and the rest of people in this thread. And many agree that the announcement would have been more worth while if they gave dates for a release schedule for HD remaster's of these games.
People are making a big deal out of something that's getting a 19.99 Wii U retail print.
Would be a bigger deal if these games were getting 29.99 retail release and were redone HD.
Yeah, but you are assuming that if Nintendo did hd remasters, theyd charge $29.99 which has not been the case so far, or that it would even be worth Nintendos time to remaster a game and try to sell it for less than $50. What you are saying is that you want more for less. Sure, me too! Hey Nintendo, I love what you are doing with these SD Wii games, but could you remaster them in HD and give them away for free? I cant believe everyone is excited about remastered games for $29.99 when Nintendo should make them 4K resolution and release them for $5! I hope Ive illustrated the problem here. Im just excited to finally be able to play MPT at a reasonable price. I already own and have played through Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 on my Wii U and the games still play wonderfully and look fine in SD.
Nintendo is doing something different than the competition right now by offering good games in their original state at reasonable prices, just like how SNES and N64 games arent remastered to higher resolutions. Yes, again, wed all like remasters, but the people you are whining about in the thread are the kinds of people that are happy that these arent priced like HD games. You even mentioned how unfair you thought it was that people were happy with Nintendos choices with re-releasing older games while people are in other remaster threads are complaining, and there is some kind of double standard with Nintendo games. Maybe, just maybe, people are happy to pay $10 to $20 for a great game in standard definition than they were to pay $50 for an HD remaster because HD remasters require actual resources from the company to release.
I just don't see how people can be so happy for SD port's that may or may-not support the original or new control schemes for them.
Regardless of the first week price.
I could see people getting pissed me included if Sony relased Uncharted 2, Tools of destruction, Infamous, God of war 3 on PSN store, with all the same problems some of them had, with no improvments, or even trophy support.
Just straight ported games that are 9.99 for the first week on PSN, when you look at the Last of Us with INCLUDED dlc, Graphical upgrade and running at 60fps for 49.99.
Wait, let me get this straight. You dont know how someone could be happy getting Metroid Prime Trilogy for $10? You dont see how thats an exceptional deal? The market values the game at over $50 USED. The market puts a brand new copy of the game at over $100.
People are, obviously, excited enough the play the game that they will spend as much for a used copy of the game as they would a new copy. People are so excited to play MPT that theyve made the game prohibitively expensive for SD copies of the game. This just blew out the used market for the game and made it a reasonable price for everyone that wants to play it.
TLOU at $50 was something people complained vocally about. People were upset at the price and the fact that Sony spent time and resources rereleasing a game form a previous generation. These games are both cheap AND require nearly zero work from Nintendo. Often, you get what you pay for, and at $20, SD is fine. At $10, this is one of the best deals since the Orange Box.
