There's been a lot of collaboration, no one in MCU-GAF is really seriously upset or being left out. I just wanted to clarify our position because I really dislike it when people start arguing about racing to make threads "first". That sort of attitude is really bad in general, because I think everyone benefits from having better threads rather than faster threads.

Actually, as someone who's more worried about how much AoU is trying to cram into itself (the twins and possible inhumans stuff about them, wakanda, hydra, ultron, possible asgard business), I'm sort of relieved to have Civil War function as a bit of a pressure valve on AoU. If anything, I expect to Civil War to be the more focused of the two while maintaining a fairly serious ensemble cast.

Yeah I saw this yesterday.

All along S.H.I.E.L.D. has kind of been about protecting people from what they don't know about, which often means people who are on the index -- people who have powers because they've been kind of mutated or given powers by technology or Hydra or various alien artifacts. Inhumans represents a different chapter.

At least in the comics, the Inhumans, they're a race of people who've been transformed. They're mutants, more or less. I've always loved that part of the comics.

I believe he's just trying to convey what Inhumans are and not necessarily commenting on story direction.

than I believe they will be separate to The Inhumans movie and be entirely dealt with on the show, Maybe getting a passing reference if anything.
That said, If It were to have any impact on the movie i believe that It would be through Sky (very unlikely) and only then in the sense of her character development.

Nova would be one of the easiest heroes to get in the MCU since a lot of the threads are already there. All that is necessary is coming up with an explanation of the Nova force since it wasn't really in GotG. (maybe a suit based on the technology in their ships?) From there come up with a reason why Rhomann Dey is at Earth and there we go. I don't think any of the Phase 3 movies are going to bother introducing him, and Guardians would be the best fit anyway since he has a connection with a lot of the team but it won't happen.

On another note, does anyone hope that post Phase 3 MCU has multiple Avengers teams? Right now that particular franchise is being treated as the "comic book event" of the MCU. I think it would be interesting to see a movie starring the smaller characters that don't hold their own franchise as a way to develop them outside of main Avengers films. That seems to be a common complaint anyway with Hawkeye being the biggest example.

However, we have no idea what will become of the Power Stone post-Infinity War and having Nova's power linked to the stone might throw a wrench in having him around since he would be entirely dependent on it. Also there is the visual difference of the Nova force being orange and Power being the purple Infinity Stone. (minor, but I feel that the colors are important elements of both things)

The Nova Force has also been depicted as blue. But yeah, it's more commonly orange.

They're kind of doing that with Cap 3 I imagine. Although they could start dabbling into names such as West Coast Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers, etc.

That may be too confusing for a general audience, I fear. Though maybe that could be seen as patronizing, the naming hardly matters as it's clear that your average cinema-goer knows that these films are already heavily connected.

Do you think that if they were named Secret/New/West Coast it could contribute to franchise fatigue? Maybe give the impression that the movies don't have new and/or interesting features to them which is almost undoubtedly why people were so drawn to Guardians.

Probably the biggest draw to these movies is seeing the superheroes themselves, so I think that if they keep the characters fresh by changing rosters and adding new blood, audiences wouldn't really be fatigued by the "Avengers" name on its own. (more likely too many superhero movies in general) If however we did see a huge influx of Avengers films, I wouldn't be surprised if the titles for the events shifted to naming conventions for comic book events. (Ex: Avengers: Age of Ultron would become just Age of Ultron, or Avengers: Infinity War would just become Marvel's Infinity War)

Finally watched Guardians.

Despite the huge amount of hype and love that movie gets...I still loved it to death. Re-watched it twice already. Goddamn I love me some fun space opera. Star Wars, Guardians, Riddick, Mass Effect, Deep Space 9, Battlestar remake...I wish we could get more fun space opera out there. I like having pink skinned girls from one night stands wearing old band t-shirts or hanging out in a space station that's really a giant celestial head.

We need novels like this - most sci-fi novels are so obessed with getting their sci right that they miss out on the fun.

I don't care if connects to the outside universe (though they kind of have to since SHIELD and the Guardians share a kind of mission in finding and securing the infinity gems), I would love a trilogy by James Gunn with these fuckers.

PS: okay, the Tesseract instead of Cosmic Cube, I get that, but what's the issue with using the world "gem" instead of "stone"? Really? Does some other studio own the rights to "infinity gems", like Sony or Fox, or is like the Cube in that you're worried people won't take it seriously with a name like "Gem"? The whole thing is truly outrageous.
