God dayum Rosalina looks amazing! I think her and Bowser may be my favorite atm but whenever I get my hands on shulk.....oh boy. Gotta be early to GameStop.

Uuugghhhh, that is going to be an insanely busy day for places like GameStop. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo shipped out some amiibo with the system & copies of MM3D.

Maybe luck will be on my side & that'll be when Shulk arrives at my store. I don't have class so I'd be able to get there when they open.

See I just find it weird because if anything I would've expected TRU to be on their game with Lucario. Maybe they don't want to hurt their special relationship with Skylanders.

gamestop probably ordered 3 new 3dses and 4 copies of MM3D for walk-ins
 
Best buy is supposed to be getting wave 3 today right? Wondering if it's worth it to go line up half an hour before opening. My BB opens at 11.

From the sounds of it most BBY are lacking in wave 3 with small shipments. Maybe worth it for a Toon Link or Bowser but getting a Shiek is a minor miracle.

They're having a midnight launch for everything, but I'm just going the next day to pick up preorders. It's never worth the wait.

The employee volunteers to check the boxes again. Yep. They only have Bowser remaining. Guess I'm going home. I miss my exit, diverting me towards Hurst, TX.. I check google maps and there's a Target 2 miles away. 3rd time's the charm, I tell myself.

3. Hurst, TX 8:45 - No one in electronics... The amiibo section has 7 Bowser, and no other wave 3. An employee shows up at the counter, and she confirms that there's nothing else. She said they had 12, and that the line started forming at 2 in the morning. I told her about the poor guys at my store who waited for nothing.. She then let me know that North Richland Hills just up the road got 50 Rosalinas.

4. North Richland Hills 9:00 - A customer is buying amiibos at the electronics counter.. But it's just 2 bowsers.. not a good sign. Employee confirms that's all that is left. He said that they had gotten only 30 Rosalinas, but 50 total of wave 3.

They went bye-bye because they didn't set a limit until someone called out a family for getting 3-4, and they set 2 as the max that you can get. If you were there around 7, you had the best chance of getting them.

You could also try the Watauga location, as they were only doing 1 per person.
 
Being the picky collector I am all 3 of my Sheiks and both of my Rosalinas have paint issues. The biggest issue is one of my Sheiks is missing a chunk of paint on her head wrap. Another has dark golden almost orange hair on pigtail that doesnt match her light blonde bangs. The last one is not that bad but just a few niggling issues here and there so I'm definitely holding on to this one.

As for my Rosalinas they both have silver paint (from her crown or wand) bleeding onto her hand or hair. But overall better quality than the Sheiks. This is one of the main reasons I try to only buy in person but in this situation I had to just get what was available. All my other Amiibos are close to perfect paint-wise whether in box or loose. Its a good thing I didn't cancel my Gamestop Sheik preorder. Hopefully I get a good one.

I am sure NOA is to blame for much of this but I think the retailers probably ordered too few. Besides putting up preorders for Rosalina at 3AM Target handled it better than the rest and got in a respectable number of them.

Toys R Us handled the whole Lucario thing with utter incompetence and I think Best Buy ordered way too few Meta Knights.

The big black mark on Dedede's hat is bothering me so much. I have no other way to replace it until stores here get stock since EB Games was the only place to get them in Canada so far.
 
Cool ill actually be in town to check BB and Target tomorrow im sure chances are zero on a Rosalina but one can dream.

Never did get lil Mac either but its fine my son most wanted is Meta Knight and looks like im gonna have to scrape up funds to get scalped.
 
Two thing people need to keep in mind regarding Gamestop's dates for upcoming figures: they are estimations and there are no street dates. Bowser was expected to be in on February 6th, but we got him in last week. If that trend continues, I expect Shulk and the others to possibly be in late this week. And if you are looking for extras and didn't preorder, best of luck. You'll need to be on top of their shipments since they can be sold upon arrival.

Rosalina secured. Only one I cared about. Didn't think it would work out, but after stores I got the last one.

Now I just need to figure out what black magic I need to perform to get Shulk.

So yeah, I was able to get 7 Amiibo today, 2 Toon Links and 5 Rosies! Toon Link is for my roomie and I (one a piece), and as for Rosie:

1. Mine
2. Mine (to keep sealed)
3. Roomie
4. Best Friend
5. Trade for Ike, but if it goes sour and there is no other recourse, it goes to a GAFer at cost plus shipping!

Had to go to 5 different stores to end up buying figures from 4 of them, it was insane, but surprisingly civil all things considered. I must have put 110 miles in my car today.
 
No lie if I was able to go out today I would have been one of those assholes that ran people over to get to electronics to make sure I got one. But then I would have felt bad and went to the back of the line to atone for my misdeeds.
 
I was up until 4:30 checking Target.com for Rosalina. No luck. I woke up at 9:30, no luck. Fell back asleep and woke up to a message that she was available online... An hour before I woke back up. Fuck.

There's a clusterfuck of release dates, zero communication from Nintendo, and stock issues at every single retailer. I doubt all these places would have the same issues with the same items on their own.

Everyone where I went kept their place in line and calmly walked to electronics in the order that they arrived.

Note: I wouldn;t let anyone try anything even if they wanted to. (It sucks but that is how you have to be sometimes otherwise people take advantage)

Luckily everyone was super cool and I didn't have to get mean
 
One more try till I let it sit for a while and try again later tonight to limit spamming (just a bit desperate, sorry).
Asking again: got a second Rosalina, want to trade for a Little Mac. He's the last one I need, so if anyone could help out that would be awesome. Both of mine look fine and are boxed, and I don't need a box for the Mac.
 
Why the fuck does niether best buy or target allow for purchase with in store pickup when it shows they are available in the store? This must be the only product ever qhere the option isn't even available.
