I used them back then as well and probably don't qualify for the trial. That shipping just kills it

He is been available for almost 4 hours now, so I think he will be common, you should be fine if you wait for an offer. I think starting next week is buy 3 for 30 at TRU.

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong were both on clearance at my local Meijers for $6.00. Now they're gone and not a single store near me has either.

Most of these are going to be uncommon a year from now. Nintendo's going to phase out the Smash series entirely. Then the Legend of Zelda or Starfox series drop with their own Amiibos.

This may be the norm for in-store amiibo, but from what I've read they aren't taking an unlimited amount of pre-orders. Each store already knows how many they are going to get and will cut off pre-orders once they've hit that limit. (Or so I've read.)

Might wanna call your local GS before making the trip out in case they've already sold through. I'm going today on my lunch break, because this shit is serious business.

I also went ahead and pre-ordered a standalone Mario amiibo to import from amazon.co.uk since apparently they won't be doing the "exclusive bundle" stuff like here in America.

as soon as i heard the whispers on here about fox and samus becoming uncommon, i snatched them up first chance i got. although i still see samus pretty often, not one fox since i got one around thanksgiving. i got my fox and samus at frys when i went down to san diego for thanksgiving and they had a TON of amiibos. if anyone has a frys local to them, id include them in your regularly searched places.

I'll stick to the rule of 'if it's not from Mario, it'll eventually disappear' rule :)

Got only six more characters I want to preorder...and consiering EU preordering is starting to be a mess, I think I only have 2 waves more in me max lol
 
Samus is the first Amiibo I bought. She's not particularly uncommon with online retailers but I haven't seen her in stores.

My brother got me three Amiibo characters for Christmas: Fox, Yoshi, and DK.

It was nice of him but the one of that bunch I most appreciate is Fox because he's a bit more rare. That's just the way it is.

So, my favorite Amiibos thus far are:

Samus (because I like Samus and this was my first Amiibo, and it looks good)
Captain Falcon (just because he's an obscure character and the Amiibo is rare)
Rosalina (my favorite Mario-related female Nintendo character, but I also like that she's an exclusive).
Fox (because I never thought I'd own a piece of physical Star Fox-related merch)

That said, Mega Man is still pre-ordered and Ness will be an eventual acquisition. I'll appreciate those plenty. I'm eyeing Toad too, especially if he has meaningful functionality in Mario Party 10.

The only Amiibos I even considered opening are Yoshi and DK because I don't care that much. Heh. Doesn't help that DK's box has a bent spot. That said, I like having an unboxed collection.
 
Alright, I just got back from pre-ordering the Mario Party 10 with Mario Amiibo and one each of the remaining Super Mario series including Toad. :-)

Now I just wait for Wave 4...
 
Fuck year. Thanks to whoever pointed out that Fox was available for shipping on Bestbuy.com. I swear I just checked earlier today and he wasn't available.

Edit: And just checked again and he is not available for shipping again. Glad I rushed to purchase him instead of looking for something else so I could get free shipping.
 
I have to say I don't really like the Toad Amiibo model. It does not look like Toad (where's his blue cap?). It looks more like Captain Toad and Toad mixed.

Edit: I just looked at the Mario Party 10 trailer and it shows Toad with a red cap now too. I guess they changed his look. So this is the new Toad model from Mario Party 10 apparently.

This is a point that's not brought up enough. Even if amiibos had NO fuctionality at all, it's still crazy to think that the likes of Captain Falcon, Fox, Ness, and even Mr. Game and Watch are going to be getting action figures.

Shifting gears, how many of you are actively using your Amiibos in smash still? My collection is getting too big for me to really actively care about leveling everybody up to 50, but I find there's still about 5 or 6 characters I tend to play against, customize, and pit against friends on a regular basis.

I like to open and name them with my GF -and then play a few 8 player smash with them, but only are up to level 50, Villager (Pink, called Susanaoria), and Peach (Black, called apricott) Villager even won an amiibo Tournament.

I still do it. Currently levelling up Shulk, Zelda and Bowser right now.

Missed opportunity, its a great trading fodder right now, you can get Rosalina and Lucario for it, even Captain Falcon or Pit.

It sucks that these delays with amazon have made me feel that even if you pre-order, you aren't 100% safe. I was thinking of having amazon as my #1 and GS as my #2 for future orders, but with the way its been lately, I might have to switch them around. Do you guys think these delays might be related to the whole Nintendo/Amazon problem from a while back? They seemed to be OK when it came to wave 1...

I don't know if I've ever heard that about the Sheikah, but at least in OoT they
refer to Sheik as male for most of the game, to make the Zelda reveal a shocking tweest
(better safe than sorry with spoilers, I guess?)
