Super Mario is getting additional waves, don't kid yourself.

As for Europe, they staggered the release pattern there so the fans have been calling the initial releases wave a, and the later release wave b. Some Americans have been doing the same with calling the initial 3 (sheik/bowser/toon link) wave A.

Fan nomenclature != manufacturing nomenclature.
 
The Mario Party Amiibos are not a part of any "wave", a term that Nintendo uses to differentiate release schedules for the Smash Brothers Amiibo line. Since they will be released independent of the SB Amiibos, they aren't a part of any wave. I'm sure they will either all come out at the same time or in two releases, but in terms of "waves", they are not a part of what we know as "waves".

I was so happy when I saw that I had gotten an email from Best Buy today...almost jumped for joy when I saw it was for an Amiibo release date change...then the crushing disappointment when I realized it was for King DeDeDe being released on 2/20 and not Meta Knight. :(

Thanks for this list! Even though it's depressing to see how much of Wave 3 is already "rare" or difficult to find. But yeah there's some that still haven't released yet but still. This worries a lot once wave 4 hits it'll be a plain nightmare to get them.

At the same time, I can see retailers believing that to be "Wave 4" as retailers are constantly commenting about how stock for Wave 4 will be much better.

Your Mega Man custom mission makes me want to make a bunch of custom Kirby amiibo. I used to do custom heroclix and those were a MUCH smaller scale! Custom Kirby amiibo should be a cinch right, right??

But... waves is a Nintendo term - they have used it only for Smash Amiibo and have been very rigid with the numbers... You can't just use the term and be like "oh, no, I was referring to THIS interpretation of the word"... They even have the wave lists on the first page OP

Nintendo is calling this, but please tell me when we can directly order Amiibo from Nintendo

edit. I really don't care about this. I'm just saying the nomenclature is stupid and it will lead to fan and retailer confusion.
 
My TRU web order for Lucario arrived today. It packed with bubble bags and everything arrived in good condition (figure and box). I've been satisfied with Amazon.fr and TRU's shipment packing so far!

Oh man, you need to do that! Kirby is considered a Low Detail figure, so to get that done shouldn't be too pricey. Here, ask this guy, he's doing my Mega Mans:

Just received my Rosalina and Lucario amiibos!

I am not trying to collect them all, just ones that interest me like all pokemon (my kids want them), a set of mario (just one of each, don't care about additional poses) and the legacy group ( Little Mac, Pit, Samus, Mega Man, PacMan, Sonic, ROB, maybe Duck Hunt Dog?)

I just hope at some point these all get put to use in an actual game like Skylanders or Disney Infinity.
 
Why is it whenever I wake up then go back to sleep and then wake up a second time, I always encounter something weird. Can't believe what happened those last 5 pages. Either way, since we have that off our chest, anyone recall when wave 3 pre-orders went up in North America? Was it early December? Or late November?

I did think it was kinda of strange how the NA boxes had the name twice, but as you can see:

However it's labelled as Super Smash Bros Collection which makes me think Nintendo already has another collection set planned. Which would make sense if our EU Super Mario Amiibos are labelled as Super Mario Collection.

Some like Wii Fit Trainer have more additional languages...

I'm not too sure why some have additional languages, or why the majority of them don't or why some only have a few languages but again, just a bit of Amiibo info for everyone. All of the EU share the same packaging. I bought all of mine from UK re-/e-tailers.
Also, the numbers are nice.

Just worth noting some stuff on Amiibos. There's more changes on the packaging but I was just going over the card image.
 
How much of Nintendo's E3 time will be dedicated to Amiibo? I can't wait to see the new Amiibo waves, fingers crossed an Arwing amiibo is announced.
 
Oh what the hell...my GS online order for Ike has been delayed. Great. Geez.

At least Best Buy updated my releases for Dedede and Sonic to 2/13, nice!

Now, for the most important one, Mega Man...

Yeah just those 5 and the Mario Party 10 bundle with the Mario figure. Gonna wait for Mario to be a single figure for that, I decided I don't want MP10. They'll make him available separate eventually, cause its Mario lol

do it just to be safe. I finally picked up a Samus the other day because I realized there no more foxes anywhere and I'd been holding off on both of em. Samus is still around, but a there seems to be a lot less than of her than a DK or a Kirby



also, 200 pages in 6 days. hot damn

I agree! I actually used the European numbering to order my amiibo pages on amiibros.com. :)

I really wish they had numbered the US ones too, it could've been helpful for tracking some of these down.
For example, imagine asking a store employee the following questions:

"Do you have the King Dedede amiibo in-stock?" vs. "Do you have amiibo #28 in-stock?"

I feel like it'd be a lot easier for employees that aren't super familiar with games/characters to be able to understand and help customers if they could reference the figures by a number. Oh well.


In other news, I also got the updated release date e-mails from Best Buy:
Sonic = 2/13
Ike, Dedede, Mega Man = 2/20

No word on Meta Knight yet. :S

You know, last night I was thinking about crossing off some more amiibos off the chart but how are we doing this? But after thinking about it, we should only be crossing off amiibos that are hard to find worldwide including imports right? Because say like Rosalina. She's hard to find in North America but is easily importable. So who should we actually cross off on the chart going forward from what we had before?
 
I'm starting to really worry about my Sonic preorder at GameStop after reading some of your posts. I preordered him a little before Christmas, and ordered for store Pick Up. I haven't received any kind of update on the order yet, but on the site it's showing as "Closed".

I'm really hoping it doesn't get cancelled...

I only want 4 Amiibo right now, I already have Samus, I already missed out on Little Mac, I'm still unsure where I stand with Sonic, and I haven't heard any updates on a Zero Suit Samus yet... ugh I can't imagine how stressful this is for people actually trying to collect them all, I'm so glad it hasn't been nearly as hard to collect Disney Infinity figures.

Some people like keeping their figures in their plastic shells. So while their functionality is fine to import, their packaging isn't.

It seems to affect DeDede and Ike ship to home only so far.
 
I'm thinking about calling GS and complaining about the Ike delay, man. This friggin' sucks. Not sure what'll come of it, but I'm annoyed it has to be later.

I swear, I regret not doing it in-store when I had the chance, it's the best way. Online preordering in general just blows. Too much uncertainty.

I'll take your advice ,Thanks! You make a good point too , amiibos are definitely not the type of items i should hold off on.I feel pain for those who held off of Villager and Little Mac when they encountered them instores only to find out they were only around for one production run.

This forum is pretty US central in theory you could buy any of the figures from ebay or Amazon reseller were taking easily buy online or walk in and purchase
 
Just got my lucario from TRU's eBay store. Packed well in a box with big bubble wrap.

You can complain, but every retailer is running into the same issues. Nintendo is fucking everything up and retailers get the blame.

Did you do it? What was the experience like?

I'm still inclined to try. I recently managed to get my $90 phone warranty replacement waived, and I got my credit card APR lowered a decent amount. Pretty knowledgable on how to deal with customer service rep, so I wanna see what comes of it.
