Now do they mean the voice acting or the character animation and materials? I could imagine there are people from the film industry doing both.
The game was actual made with the aspect ration in mind. While it does help performance they did not do letterbox the game because of performance like the Evil Within.
Everything is so gorgeous and nicely detailed that it's going to be a lot of fun to just walk around and look at stuff.
That said, that clip was rather boring. I expected "gameplay", not walking around the base.
He's walking around without shooting anything? Lol walking simulator
Oh wait, he shot his gun. Such a generic tps.
I don't think so but I preordered both on Amazon. Just have to cancel one or the other.
This thread is proof that cynicism is becoming a real problem on GAF
Fortunately, there just so happens to be 'gameplay' like this to go along with all of the gawking at the visuals:

Do you honestly think that walking around is all you do?

I remember when people were calling Sony liars when they said the first reveal trailer was in-game.
Derrick use to be ridiculed, now he wouldn't even stand out.
those black bars are pretty annoying on the video. What purpose do they serve? I thought letterboxing died with the 4:3 TVs. Was the game made with a higher aspect ratio in mind because that makes absolutely no sense.
Hopefully, they won't be as noticeable on a bigscreen TV.
Agreed. I can probably say that Heavy Rain is my favorite game of all time, and The Order has NEVER reminded me of it. That said, The Order has always looked great, to me. So the naysayers offer tasty tears and nothing more.
He was just ahead of his time.Derrick use to be ridiculed, now he wouldn't even stand out.
It buffles my mind about the lenghts some folks will go to shit on this game.
Go back and watch the reveal trailer now. It doesn't look anywhere close to where the game is now. (BTW I haven't watched this footage in particular)I remember when people were calling Sony liars when they said the first reveal trailer was in-game.
And when you combine all that you get varied and interesting pacing, which is what this game is going for.Its funny that when they show some cover shooting its just a boring corridor shooter, then they show some QTE and its Heavy Rain. They show some story and its just a movie, they show some slower paced "exploring" and it's a walking simulator (not gameplay). They show the best graphics ever and the bouncing hair breaks immersion.

But...but...but.... Eurogamer told me only open world games are good because they define next gen gameplay. Pre order cancelledAnd when you combine all that you get varied and interesting pacing, which is what this game is going for.
You'll be surprised by the amount of salt on the Internet, even on NeoGaf some people try to claim otherwise
I agree. But most posters don't even take the time to state the game they think looks better and explain why. It's all subjective.
I know this language. It's unix.
At this point the cynicism is too strong. I doubt this game will review favourably in light of all the negativity, now matter how good it may be. Really sad for RAD, they've worked so hard.
Can't just celebrate hard work, loads of games perceived as bad had hard work done on them too. The atmosphere is more mixed for this game than negative (just like users here) but that's a totally separate issue than actual reviews. There are positive previews and there are negative previews for this game. Important to remember, plenty of great games don't get great pre-release excitement (Wolfenstein). Hard to tell from preview sections how the rest of the game fares. At this point the cynicism is too strong. Exactly. And if they can pull it off and blend each one of those aspects well, this could stand up there with the best of TPS games out there. And when you combine all that you get varied and interesting pacing, which is what this game is going for.
It's just part of the cutscene though... it remains to be seen if that's the reload animation in game. If it is, it's a bold choice to pan the camera downward to the weapon. Not something typically done in shooters.
What I'm saying is, there's no way that's the in-game reload animation. I mean, it might be, but you certainly won't see it that clearly, from that angle.
edit: i guess you didn't specify "in gameplay" so I shouldn't even be arguing with you. Yes, it's clearly the best reload animation I've seen, even if it's a cutscene.
I remember the "concern" for Sunset Overdrive scoring well after that videogamer.com preview. Can't just celebrate hard work, loads of games perceived as bad had hard work done on them too. What a year to decide to do that!I cancelled my erroneously priced collector's edition from BB. Trying to go through 2015 without a single gaming purchase.
At least I'll get through February now.
You only need to search some of their usernames on google to find out.
Still baffles me how people can hype some things on neogaf and then turn around and not be excited for this game. Once an opinion is made it becomes hard to shake even if logic and reason goes against it.
Of all the years to do that for, 2015 is going to be a rough one.I cancelled my erroneously priced collector's edition from BB. Trying to go through 2015 without a single gaming purchase.

But doesn't it have more pre orders than Bloodbourne and Evolve? You talk like it's some grand conspiracy. The more likely situation is just that the developers haven't shown anything to make a large group of people want the game.
But doesn't it have more pre orders than Bloodbourne and Evolve?
How do you know this? But doesn't it have more pre orders than Bloodbourne and Evolve?
I think I read your post wrong. I thought you meant it as there isn't a large group at all that wants the game. My bad.I'd have no idea about any of that. I'd say it's largely irrelevant, though, when talking about enthusiast game coverage and discussion.
How do you know this?
Interested in how many pre-orders Evolve is getting.
I agree. But most posters don't even take the time to state the game they think looks better and explain why.
