There are 6 parts with stands. It's a bit early to dismiss protagonist stands before the first one is even finished. Star Platinum is cool as fuck too.
 
I'd honestly say my biggest disappointment with part 3 so far is the absence of Dio. I was really hyped to see Dio ham it up and be a constant threat to the heroes like he was to Jonathan or how the Pillar Men were to Joseph, instead he's been so absent you could forget he's even returned if it wasn't for the villains constantly saying they're fighting in his name.

Most likely is his ripple is not strong enough before having a proper ripple training with Lisa Lisa .

Because then people would want to see his Stand and there's a reason why that can't happen yet. The tease is worth it, trust me.

Lisa Lisa was relatively plain, but she was an awesome fit for a mentor role, and knowing who she was in relation to Joseph gave it meaning.

Well I agree that the fact that Joesph had to carry Part II on his shoulders meant Araki probably spent more time making sure he was awesome but........that doesn't change the fact that he was still awesome.

Only thing that pissed me off about Part 2 is that Lisa Lisa never got a proper fight scene.

She was a Ripple master for Christ's sake. She didn't have to exactly beat Cars, but had she beaten him to the point where he got his perfect form power up and then get stabbed then that would've been fine. She got turned into a jobber at the end.

I think it's more lke if Cars had fought her fairly she would have been an actual threat to him (or if she got in trouble Joseph and Stroheim could have rushed in to help) and it would've been 3 vs 1 with 2 Hamon masters, not exactly in Cars' favor. It still sucks, but Cars isn't a superhuman being in every sense. :p

That and Cars isn't a noble warrior type like Wham. I mean I get it, but it would've been nice to showcase the skill of the person that trained Joseph...not just make her a damsel.

This is one of the many reasons I don't like Part II, also Araki's writing was kind of whack, there was a sufficient training arc that even Part I didn't get and yet it didn't help whatsoever. I think with Lisa Lisa though Araki might've been held back because it's a Japanese Shounen magazine Jojo ran in and the kids reading don't wanna see no strong female warrior. Fortunately as Jojo goes on more females actually take on a fighting role.

Thank god for that last part. Stardust Crusaders is like one giant frat party...don't get me wrong I like it, but it could use the gender diversity.

How was the training arc irrelevant? Before the training Whamu roffle-stomps both Caesar and Jojo by himself. After the arc, Caesar almost kills him (and could have killed Kars given what Whamu said) and Jojo beats not only him but ACDC and Kars as well. It definitely mattered. Caesar and Lisa Lisa did get robbed though so that last line makes me happy to hear as I'm still mostly in the dark for the later parts though I know Part 6 stars

To be technical a volcano beats Cars, but yeah they couldn't do much outside of getting punched in the throats by Wham before they did their training.

Well it certainly ended up helping Caesar a lot didn't it? Again though it all falls down to relying HEAVILY on Joseph so maybe it did help Joseph then even though he used tools more than the actual Ripple.

Yes it did help Caesar alot. Training doesn't mean you will or deserve to win, only that you improve and both Caesar and Jojo did. Recall that Jojo's Ripple could only incapacitate Santanna. He was STILL ALIVE after their fight. His Ripple KILLED the far stronger ACDC and Whamu after training. Like I feel like you're arguing against things that clearly and actually happened.

Knowing Part 2 Joseph he had planned it all along. Yeah the training arc was to give them a fighting chance at victory, but it didn't guarantee them victory though. It did a lot more to help Caesar not getting his bubbles popped by Wham shaking his hair at them. Also taught Joseph how to control and strengthen his ripple in the first place. I still think Caesar had more control over the ripple mechanics, but the training brought Joseph closer to Caesars level.

Yeah, pretty sure that in an actual 1 on 1 fight Lisa Lisa could've legitly beaten Kars. Kars is a dick however and we know how that went :|
