This thread is reminding me a lot of KZ2, do you guys remember this?

I'm still amazed by how fucking good killzone 2 looks. (for most of the time)

It has nothing to do with this game. It's about the grey/ brown nonsense in general.
Yes, it does offend me in an irrational way. I agree.

There are reasons why devs choose certain colours for their games. Most make sense (even if you only have a tiny understanding of the world, history and art.).

Oh please, the homogenization in this hobby is far too accepted of a phenomenon. Part of the trait that many of these games share is the gritty brown/gray look.

The way he whips his pistol out to shoot the grenade is like something straight out of a Western. So cool.

I'm really impressed with the animation for when the player uses blacksight. It seems to always take into account positioning and speed and compensates naturally.

Lmao this thread has provided me with enough giggles.

I've been avoiding ALL Order threads the last month to avoid spoilers but took a peak in this one to find the concern trolls out in full force.

I mean sandbags in a London warzone are now an issue? Good Grief Charlie Brown.

Looking forward to next week!

Looks like we really got to you since you're talking about little else anymore. Too bad but not our problem. .

Well isn't that just the pot calling the kettle black. Last I check both of us had quite the knack for calling each other out. So don't pretend like this is a one -sided affair.

Pretty common for Sony 1st party games outside Naughty God

Naughty Dog is no exception, look at what they have accomplished with Uncharted 4.
This is Drake's in game model and there are people literally bitching about downgrades that don't exist.
They have almost a year of work left to be done yet people are comparing a pre-alpha demo to a trailer as if it's going to be released tomorrow.

I come into a thread to look at some new Order screens, and I get spoiled on the exact number of chapters in the game. It's not a huge deal, I said it was a pet peeve. It's a small thing that some may not think twice of, but for others it's important.

Lmao this thread is perfection. Also where have people been seeing the commercials for the game? I think I'm watching the wrong channels.

Was it ever this nuts when TLoU came out? I remember chapter names leaking and people were all like abandonthread.gif

I'm sorry. I quoted the to the person who posted it as well. It's something I always like knowing since I often seem to get near the end of a game while tired and don't know whether to press on or wait until the next day.

For those toooooo lazy:

PS4Daily had the chance to play the retail version of The Order 1886, and we came away quite impressed. We’ve seen a lot from The Order 1886 over the past few weeks as Sony ramped-up their marketing campaign, and overall, the game lives up to the hype.

For starters, the gameplay and controls are solid. Third person shooter mechanics are notoriously hard to get right, especially when it comes to cover and movement and going from one to another. Gears of War pretty much nailed the third person controls, and The Order 1886 feels very similar — controls are easy to learn and get used to.

Visually, it’s a stunner. Not just in terms of graphical fidelity and details, but in terms of art design as well. The game has a great atmosphere and the remake of Victorian times has been done extremely well, creating a believable world.

At several points in the game, we found ourselves venturing off the main path to just explore and take in all the details in the world. Having this “believable world” is what makes the “otherworldly” aspects (e.g. monsters) even more impactful in the game.

“The game has a great atmosphere and the remake of Victorian times has been done extremely well”
However, there were a few things that we didn’t really like. For one, The Order 1886 has a brand new world, lots of characters, lots story (and back story), which means there needs to be a lot of cut scenes to explain everything. And there are a lot of cut scenes in the game, especially in the beginning.

Another thing we wished there was less of are quicktime events. These have been rampant in games over the past few years, and The Order 1886 follows this trend. The quicktime events in The Order 1886 are well done, but somehow always managed to take us out of the story as opposed to immersing us further into the game and its world.

We didn’t have time to try out all the game has to offer, but we did finish a good chunk of the singleplayer campaign. And overall, The Order 1886 definitely lives up to our expectations. There’s a great possibility of The Order becoming a viable franchise for Sony and the PS4 in the future.

We’ll have more in-depth thoughts when the game is released next week. Be sure to also check out this awesome The Order 1886 Collector’s Edition.

Not the most unbiased source, but the first impressions I've seen.

Doesn't really say much. Beautiful with good controls and shooting but a bit too heavy on cutscenes and QTEs at the beginning, which I expected. Hopefully they don't rely too much on those once you get into the meat of the game.

They should throw in a trailer for this before 50 Shades of Grey.
LOL

They attached the trailer to Kinsman in the UK, which seems pretty perfect. I hope they do in the US as well.

Yes, it has been used a lot. I think because it was pretty popular for a while it has also been used without a viable artistic reason (but just because it was popular) sometimes. In The Order it makes a lot of sense though. And the mistake is that people think it is just monochromatic. The use of colour in this game is very subtile and refined and very well done imo. Just like some painters did in the past.

The videos show this better than these screens though for some reason.

That's a pretty biased source, isn't it?

If you read the article there are a few criticisms in there which make it seem valid, but yeah that name definitely makes it seem biased. They have issue with the amount of cutscenes and the quick time events taking them out of the experience instead of immersing them.

The amount of shit posts in The Order 1886 threads is incredible.

If you don't have anything else than trash talk to come with, then please leave and don't fulfill disucssions with meaningless crap.

If sites are posting impressions already does that mean there's no embargo for reviews?

Usually they aren't allowed to say anything at all (positive or negative) until the embargo date.

Welp, I've learned how many chapters the game has and that there are some ... "suprise" featured guests in the game's rogues gallery.

Good thing I'm don't have a PS4 yet, will likely have forgotten that by the time I do
