As you've already been shown the spot, here are the networks it's shown frequently/semi-frequently on:

  • Comedy Central (as early as day after Super Bowl)
  • AMC
  • Esquire
  • TBS
  • Scyfy
  • Spike
  • FX

I'd assume that Cartoon Network, TNT, and MTV are also playing it. Not sure about the local/major networks like Fox, CBS, and NBC since the pre-Super Bowl show.

One of the more substantial marketing campaigns by Sony. Seems to be aired more than Infamous Second Son ads at least.

I don't thing the ad is terrible at all, even if I think they could have played up the Arthurian legend stuff than the generic rebel talk.

This is kind of a weird question but what would you say, if you had to guess, the game will score critically or where the metacritic would end up lol.

Prove to me that they'll be better off bought into WWS.

This is a company, who on their FIRST major AAA game, has dumbfounded even the most technically advanced and experienced studios with their graphics tech.

They could develop their own engine and grow to be huge. Being apart of WWS isn't a bad thing, never would I imply that, but not seeing how a company COULD be better off on their own is just being close-minded. All because you want to act condescending and tell me to "not bitch" and "welcome" me to life.

edit: listen, I don't want to argue about this, it's pointless, I just don't know why people want 3rd party devs to get acquired (Capcom, Sega, etc threads that pop up every once in a while). Guess I'm alone on the opinion that exclusivity isn't always the best route.

I don't want to watch the video while I'm not on Wifi, but does he say if he skipped all the cutscenes and played on super easy? I don't see any other way to get five hours of gameplay

I didn't watch his video. and there's no way to skip cutscenes. or I didn't find one. it's closer to Max Payne 3 with cutscenes being on engine

Couldn't agree more.

Funnily enough, I think it's largely due to the game's visuals being that good; the impression of being thrown into a slapdash cutscene is exacerbated ten-fold, resulting in broken immersion and something that just looks directorially amateurish.

Ultimately, camera cuts for takedowns/executions are just a massive no-no. It didn't work in Deus Ex HR and it doesn't work here.

If you can rent it first I don't see how that could hurt. The game will likely end up being shorter than people expect anyway. Bloodborne will definitely be a longer game and have more replayability as well.

They'd have the full financial backing of Sony along with support from their sister studios in development. Given that WWS seems to base their philosophy on supporting creative studios, even at financial costs to Sony, that would be solid for RAD to get money in their coffers.

On their own, they'd be a small team in a huge world of AAA development, which is risky as all hell and even more costly. It should tell you a lot that while they haven't signed a deal to become a WWS studio, they've had all kinds of contracts with Sony for financial backing and such. Long-story short: why would RAD be interested in being first-party potentially? Because the AA scene is rough on your own. The big advantage of staying independent would be creative freedom, and I'd suspect that would make the biggest impact on any decisions.

This all depends on the freedom Sony grants them in terms of their artistic vision on games. If they ask to Sony, "We want to make a game that _____, will you support this decision?", it's whether or not Sony holds them back from trying to pursue the idea determines if being owned by Sony is a bad thing. However, you said it yourself how this company is young as a AAA studio. Sony's longevity probably has a better idea of what's realistic in terms of the business side of things, and let's not forget, these people might be artists as game designers, but they're still trying to make money and as much of it as they can.

Also, you're saying they can develop their own engine. They can still do that and outsource it to other Sony developers.

That's a shame. I was hoping for some big epic sequences, like perhaps the air ship exploding and having to eject from the escape balloons and firefight through the clouds, or a tram sequence where it derailed as you fought on it, or carriage chases through the misty london streets. I love big cinematic action scenes like that. This engine would make them look incredible too.

Guess it's far more like TLOU than something like TR, Dead Space or Uncharted in terms of bombastic action.

Mid 80s, I think. Even with some tough critics, which I'm sure there will be, I feel it should probably have a good shot at hitting that kind of mark. The biggest complaints are probably going to come from what's expected (linear, no innovation, or no "next-gen gameplay"). The last big TPS game was almost two years ago.

Since UC4 might come out this year I think them being different in the aspect is very good.

I kind of hate that criticism since very few people seem to actually be able to elucidate what it means, nor does every game seem to be held to the same standard. I guess SoM was a game that did that, but I can't really think of many others that I've played yet that have anything I'd call "next-gen."
 
I will say this, going off impressions:

However you feel about the gameplay decisions, the aspect ratio, etc. RAD deserves some credit for putting out a game that:

A) Looks incredible
B) Runs great
C) Loads quickly
D) Is (seemingly) glitch free

It's all too often that developers these days let their ambition get the best of them, and the result is something that tries to do too much at the expense of other aspects of the game (See: AC Unity). So, kudos to them for knowing their limits and putting out a polished and complete product.

Hopefully in a sequel they are able to add and iterate on the foundation they've created, and take it to the next level.

No. Not at all.
I don't approve of the idea of bought exclusives generally.

But, and its a very big but, RAD seem to have really pushed the envelope of what we can expect in terms of performance on the PS4. They seem to have really mde the effort to allow the console to shine.
If they were allowed to go multiplatform now I would be worried that The Order 2 might be a watered down experience that didn't show that level of ambition.
Even worse it could be a hobbled mess in the name of parity, like you would see from someone like Ubisoft.

I suppose although it would still be fantastic to see them craft such sequences. Even if simply to add a further layer of variety to the game and provide some thrilling moments. It's hard to say though as I'm not entirely sure the tone they are going for without playing it myself. Could be totally out of place.

Id say mid 80's low 90's.

Also there is much more than an hour and a half of gameplay its click bait. Most things related to this game are for whatever reason.

One thing that is really good to hear about this game is that RAD set their goals at an achiveable level and made sure they met them. It doesn't sound like they got overambitious or tried to take on more than they could handle.

They can't make an Order 2 on other platforms, Sony owns the IP.

All I want is for this game to be successful for them so we can see a sequel and maybe a new IP, if it HAS to be under WWS, so be it, I own all 3 consoles. Just don't want it to hurt the potential (but like you said, it could be beneficial under certain circumstances too).

Open-mindedness is something we don't get around these parts. It's appreciated, duder! I too wish this game nothing but the best, for RAD's sake and my own. My hype for this game is astronomical.

Exactly. One of the first things you learn about project management is scope and scope creep, it seems many developers and publishers often forget about this.
