Cheaper volumes are usually at 8 bucks which is more compared to Japan ones. Also Rhapsody, mind recommending any LN's that have come out in the US?
US volumes are a little pricey for me right now. Jump stuff used to be 7.95 which was nice. And Borders used to give me cool 30 percent coupons every week when they were still open. I haven't bought any manga in awhile though. Just sticking with light novels. With the amount of content, I feel ok with the price, even if it's cheaper in Japan.

It's like 8 dollars at the absolute lowest to like 14-16 dollars.
Of course we get premium editions, 2-in-1 volumes, 3-in-1 volumes, etc.
Even still, the English volumes end up costing about the same even if you include Kino's markup.
Hmm, $8 is about 7€, which is the standard manga price around here. It's kind of surprising. I had always believed that you guys got your books for ~$5, considering how much cheaper most of your products are (except healthcare, apparently).

Nah, its even more expensive for fresh off the press manga. I usually wait a bit cause I'd have to pay 10-12 bucks depending on the popularity/quality of the manga. If you go to comic book stores, they charge full price which is tough cause I usually buy in bulk. Haven't bought any manga for a while, gotta get them Yuyu hakusho and Flame of Recca volumes in my hands! Tried getting Elemental Gelade too but sadly the last 2-3 volumes were never translated to English ;_; CURSE YOU TOKYOPOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't really bought any of the rerelease multi-volumes in one though since I usually have the original release. ~_~
I only do that for Clamp since a lot of their stuff is more expensive separately for me. I regret doing it for Negima! and haven't done it for One Piece. Did it for Love Hina! since its a lot cheaper, also I love Ken Akamatsu's works to death. Full Metal Alchemist is doing re-releases on volumes through Omnibus editions. Usually buy bigger versions so it last longer while reading them on the train and not have to carry multiple books.

Though I did willing do it for Loveless and Neon Genesis Evangelion, extras and color pages made it worth it.

Damn that's pretty expensive. I seriously didn't expect manga to be cheaper in Europe (well, in my area at least) than in the US.

You can't really pinpoint the whole thing on Japan, mate.
I mean yeah, the genre is popular and sells because of the whole taboo concept.
But you can't discount the history behind incest itself from all over the world.
Nor whenever it comes up in other popular media like with Star Wars (unintentional or not) or Game of Thrones.

Eiji and Tatsumi's story was pretty good. It hit all the right notes. Though it went into the predictable outcome territory I always love these stories of friends in love. For the genre, it was a bit fast paced in the action which more time would have really helped Eiji at the end there. Tatsumi apologizing and promising to do better next time was nice. Hopefully the extras in this volume have more of their friendship and deep character interaction.

It was such a great manga and the artist knew how to draw characters. Even though it got a little convoluted near the end, it certainly had that 90's feel (heh came out in the 90's) that I miss in my anime...
I must read this.

Zheng has shown to have a good head on his shoulders with that decision after winning. As much as letting his emotion take priority would have felt fulfilling, he picked the one solution that helps in furthering his goal, even if it's a pretty hard one.
I'm curious if Qiang Lei will turn out to be a girl too. He looked pretty amazing in that war. Xin was amazing too, though he really risked his life with Wang Qi.
So far, Diao is my preferred character. I love her facial expressions, her getup is funny and she has some of the funniest moments. Even when she doesn't have much space in the volume, she's given space for funny scenes in the extra pages. So, Diao is best.

ordered 1-15 of Prison School and a few other random ones I've been waiting on from Honto.jp. Nice thing about this site is that they ship overseas and they don't charge foreigners tax. They also accept foreign CCs too.
9400 yen for the manga I ordered. Probably 3200 yen for shipping using Fedex, I think. which is about about 12600 yen. Converted into USD, that's like 105 dollars at the current exchange rate.
105/17 = 6.10 a volume or so?

Started reading Girls of the Wilds during a trip and man this is some high quality stuff for a webcomic. Fully colored, and the writing is surprisingly decent. I think my favorite part of it is watching the artist improve over time. Around chapter 50ish, and the art looks so much better than the first chapters.
