I don't think everyone was saying this kid deserved to have it happen to him. A lot of people, including myself, believe that it was a valuable lesson for the kid to learn. They're not necessarily condoning the actions of the guy who deleted the kid's stuff either. So many sickos out there that sees it fit to judge a minor for lacking foresight. I guess now a days we expect even that much from children age 10 and below.
I can't even begin to understand how some of the adults in the community think that causing emotional distress to a minor is appropriate for teaching them a lesson or even worse see it as entertaining.
He simply allowed a PSN friend to "SharePlay", shareplay operated as designed, however this Kermit character decided to pray upon a defenseless youth through deception aimed at a minor and deleted most his hard work.
There is no lesson to learn here other than shareplay is flawed by design and Sony will have to remove it or patch it ASAP, because apparently to some if you share play and lose your progress through malicious users its your own damn fault, you the victim brought this upon yourself.
Lol you make a swell point my friend. Just want to bring some reason back in to the conversation. if he punched the kid, yeah, that's not good. If he smushed the kids GI Joe in a vice grip, I don't reAlly care. SmH
Doing a stream right know go away.
That's kinda sad. I don't know how bad what he was trying to do was, but if someone screwed up my stuff like that I'd probably just quit playing the game for good. Like when my GTA5 save got corrupt about 75% of the way through. Eff that, I'm not putting all those hours in again, on to something else.
That's slightly more comparable. I remember crying when I accidentally deleted my nearly completed Kingdom Hearts save in first grade. It sucked and I got over it. This is digital content. The only thing this kid lost was his time. In a few years, he's going to think back about all of this and cringe at how dumb he was.

This is the perfect time to say OWNED

I feel bad for him no doubt, but wow i was laughing uncontrollably for like a good 5 minutes.
That's hilarious. I don't feel bad for him at all.
Also did he post that on his mom's youtube? lol
Cheater got owned.
Glitches get stitches
it would seem that a lesson was learned
This was equal parts tragic and funny.
Well, that's one way to learn a lesson. Damn.
I asked a question about it having an effect on peoples responses to the video. and now you cant get your knight lance out of my ass. thats whats going on, and thats all. good day.
.
I've done something much more inline with that this kid did right around the same age too. Immediately after it happened, I realized I only had myself to blame. I thought the person who did it was a jerk. Ultimately, it was still my fault.I think there is a difference between doing something yourself as an accident or having a memory card malfunction than there is being cyber bullied - especially when it's a grown man vs an 11 year old kid. There's more of a mental strain when someone does something hostile towards you than a piece of hardware crapping out on you.
Some of those quotes are not like the others. You don't think so?
You're right. I hope his memory cards and hard drives die. Seriously though. I can't wrap my head around why you would be on a video game forum if you think "they're just video games."
I'm sorry, but am I the only one that finds this hilarious??? It an innocent prank that is amazingly awesome. It's just a video gAme. Quit crying you baby.
anybody else think it was fake? why would he not delete the third character and instead a gun?
Haha, I get it, you're pointing out how an 11 year old doesn't have a full grasp of grammar. I bet that feels good.
Knight lance. Oh boy. I know your type now.

The last 5 minutes of this video is heart breaking. The kid try's to put on a brave face but inside is being ripped apart.![]()
No I am pointing out the ridiculousness of an 11 year old who doesn't have full grasp of grammar to be playing a Teen rated MMO and expecting some sort of safety net.
Must be tough being all alone atop that hill of moral
superiority.
Edit: fixed word
I want to know more about this Knight Lance and if it's used by a certain type of "warrior".
Two of those quotes only stated that the kid learned a lesson.#1 People find it funny
#2 Some feel that it was justice served since he was looking for a glitch/exploit (WHEN NONE EVEN OCCURRED)

From my understanding what he was convinced of doing isn't actually possible. There is no known exploit that allows you to just go from twenty something to thirty. He was just tricked into believing it.
If someone went to a drug dealer and got shot, would the same people be saying, "well he deserved it." ?
lol what? The hyperbolic comparisons in this thread are nothing if not priceless.

Please point out what's wrong with my comparison?
When I was 11 and curiously stuck a fork in the socket and got shocked, I learned never to do that again.
Im not saying that all kids need hard lessons and that we need to drop coddling; but what has been done, has been done.
Im saying that kid is going to learn a good lesson from this and will look back and laugh about this when he is older and realizes that its JUST A GAME and he got trolled good.
Please point out what's right with it.
