Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

Sigh. I have to sleep tonight, no option of staying up to catch preorders - Performance reviews at work tomorrow + having to drive my roommate to work at 10AM. Hopefully the rumour isn't true :\

I wouldn't worry about tonight. Besides, if you miss Amazon you'll still have all the other retailers.

It's a different game now though. I remember many if not most people saying that the exclusives, just for an example, would be well stocked. They were so sure. Those preorders were up for days before selling out. Think about how the state of things are now though. Most smash amiibo that got released in wave 3 are super hard to get your hands on right now. The exclusives near impossible without a preorder. People are going to be a lot quicker this time. There's also probably a lot more interest from scalpers and collectors alike now after wave 3.

I don't know, I feel like everyone is being a bit too paranoid. And, for reference, I was talking about pre-orders here, not post-release. I'm well aware of the difficulty of getting certain amiibos after their "official" release date, but I'm talking about the period of when preorders go live. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but if all the previous waves were up for, say, a week or so, I really don't think it's unreasonable to assume this one will too.

Toad was up for less than a day everywhere. These next set of preorders aren't going to last long. I don't think Nintendo will think these characters are popular enough to warrant a ton of shelf space at Feb they have the more mainstream Super Mario series already on shelves.
 
I've been trying to find a MegaMan amiibo here in Peru so bad :( They sent very limited quantities. It's impossible to get one now and people are selling them online for 180 Soles, roughly $60. This sucks, I really wanted to get MegaMan.

I got a Toad pre-order in at Gamestop for a friend probably a week or so after the preorders went live. I'm pretty sure it was up there for more than a day as well.
 
i'll be up for the next 16 hours. amazon, do your thing. Just please make them available within the next 24 hours.

putting them up at 3am would be best for me :P I need the odds in my favor!

Yep I got what you were talking about. My point was, people now know more than ever if they want an amiibo they better preorder it. Not too many are going to try their luck at stores at this point. Before wave 3 that might have made sense. A lot has changed.

You're right though that it's certainly possible. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Yeah, I mean, I'll be pre-ordering as soon as I can and all, just in case. I hope and think I'll right, but will prepare for if I'm wrong hah.

Totally, I hope I'm wrong too because I tend to be away when these things go live. It would be nice not having to worry about it honestly.

If you didn't preorder early enough at gamestop you'll be waiting until "summer". People will want to get in as soon as possible even if they're open for days.

Hmm... yeah I won't bother with staying up then. Seems really unlikely that preorders go up tonight. Listings seem more likely.

And if they do go up by some chance tonight and I miss them... oh well. I still have Amazon UK and hopefully Amazon JP to fall back on :p

I can see that. I imagine that Nintendo would rather get classic Wario amiibos on store shelves instead of the lesser known superior biker Wario. It can go either way I think, but I'd lean towards Smash Wario being easy to find, for a time anyway.
 
Can we please make a choice regarding this Line and PushBullet stuff.

We are becoming too disjointed. 3 Amiibo threads (Canadian, OT and EU), PushBullet and LINE.

It is kind of ridiculous.
