You can only use it once a day so it shouldn't feel that cheap. Just a little push on a difficult challenge.

I am glad that the game is using amiibo but I just worry that having the powers may make it too easy for me. I want the experience how it was meant to be (personally) but I am sure others wouldn't mind.

I am definitely going to use the Amiibo functions on Mario Party and Captain Toad though.

The Theory of Scalping

Plot;
Reggie is from the future and has made a plan to make sure Amiibos are limited since John is scalping like crazy. John eventually confesses his love for Rosalina where *plot twist* the reason he scalped(?) all those Rosalina's is to melt them down into one giant Amiibo.
AmiiboGAF is the name of Reggies personal intel assistant. (We get our own spin-off series were we divide ourselves into regions but I'm still writing the script).
Good move 12/10 could do with less phallic objects.
Will buy on Blu-ray... And even more to sell on eBay.

Don't trust their in-stock status. Simply, don't. I've had numerous orders of in stock products canceled, including Amiibos twice.

I asked people there why they were saying "in stock" for products that aren't (I can understand an error once, but when it's 80% of the time for rare products, that's not a mistake). They explained me that "in stock" is roughly "the product is available for immediate shipping in the maker catalog last time we checked".

Which, in the case of Amiibos, means simply nothing. When they order them to Nintendo, they see they're not available, and they cancel the order.

That's just a stupid way to handle this (they had a lot of troubles building an online store, and it's still mostly a messy thing).


What I mean is: feel free to try, but don't hope too much that the order will be fulfilled because it's "in stock". It's most probably NOT in stock.


Edit : sorry, I missed the cancelling notice, but again, I'm not surprised: typical FNAC behavior.

Quick update. Fnac.pt just shipped my order with a Meta Knight, Shulk and King Dedede! So, once again, they haven't failed me yet.
 
Read this over at another forum I was lurking on. Now I know to take this with a grain of salt, but I thought I'd put the info out there just in case.

GUYS!! GUYS!! AMAZON IS GETTING MORE OF THE RARE AMIIBO INCLUDING VILLAGER OH MY GOD! :Freaked:

So I was in a chat with an Amazon Customer Support person talking about Wave 4 pre-orders (by the way those might happen soon, there are clues hinting towards it, the Amazon amiibo tracker, etc.).

But then I got sidetracked as the customer service person asked me if by new amiibo, I meant new stocks of rare amiibo. I didn't, but I asked if they would get them anyway, AND THIS HAPPENED!

"Amazon Person: Yes, Patrick. We've contacted the suppliers to have more items in stock. The item will in stock within 1-2 business days. I request you to check the website time to time.

Me: Woah woah woah. Do you mean the new ones for pre-order or the out of stock ones? (Then I specifically asked about the Villager amiibo)

Amazon Person: Yes, Patrick. The item will be in stock with Amazon soon.

And I of course said:

Me: OH MY GOD WHEN

Amazon Person: The item will be available with Amazon within 1-2 business days. If you prefer, you can place the order with the item sold by sellers and fulfilled by Amazon .

Then I said if I could pre-order the Villager, to no avail, but now I'm going to be emailed when it goes in stock. (I have Page Notifier, but this helps too).

​I even asked if it was specifically Villager and not just more Mario. And the person said it was Villager."

I'm guessing that maybe some old Amiibo stock of some of the older, rarer characters are starting to make their way to distributors now that the West Coast port strike is pretty much over.
 
Thought you guys might find this interesting. A buddy of mine who lives in Tokyo just stopped by Yodobashi Akiba (basically a massive department store with, like, half of an entire floor dedicated to gaming; it's kind of an amazing store) in Akihabara, and this is what he told me about the amiibo situation there:

- They have a ton of the usual commons (Mario, Luigi, Diddy, Bowser, DK, Pikachu, Kirby, Link, Peach, Yoshi, and Zelda)
- Only uncommon they have a bunch of is Sheik
- Rockman is sold out
- They have about 50 Sonics, limit two per person

And that's it. Rares from any wave are nowhere to be found, not to mention newly-released wave 3 amiibo like Dedede, Meta Knight, Ike, and Shulk.

Seems like the amiibo situation isn't much better in Japan than it is here...
 
Damn, Lucina is gone from Amazon jp now, too. I preordered the other 4 just in case. Hope I can get them all preordered at Best Buy, but Toad was already OOS by the time I noticed so my odds seem slim. And it looks like you can only get Super Mario Mario from the Mario Party 10 bundle? :-|
 
So for those of us in NA just getting online which of the preorders closed fastest and how long were they open until filled ? Trying to get a feel for general rareness for W4...

All of wave 4 is equally in high demand right now. They're still open for pre-orders

and by that I mean none of them went up for pre-orders so technically they're still available sometime in the future and we're all banging our heads at wall at the suspense of when they come online
 
I tried to order a few of the Wave 4 amiibos from Amazon Japan, but they won't ship to my address. I already have Wario and Charizard from Amazon UK, so I guess I have to vigilantly check websites for pre-orders, or pay the scalper price.

I might be able to help. I live in Japan... I guess you could ship them to my address and then I could ship them to you. Your have to pay me the s/h in addition to whatever Amazon charges though. PM me if you're interested. I'm about to go to bed so I wont respond till tomorrow...
