Just for the record, after my mini-rant about people buying multiples, I was really tempted to get 2 myself. I don't know what's right and what's wrong anymore. Maybe I could've helped one of you out. Amiibos have made me question my worldview.

Can not do that. Friend had extra orders she was thinking about canceling and I knew that was a bad idea.
So I swooped in and resold them to a better home (like dogs).

Not necessarily. By having more people able to get them, that means there's less people looking on ebay for them. Potentially killing reseller sales.

Just like 40 minutes ago or so, before the most recent batch of them went up for pre-order. Odds are the most recent batch was entirely comprised of cancellations.

iirc he said his friend that ordered 5 (2+2+1) got an email with cancels. Not sure which specific orders, or all of them

Not necessarily. The rereleased amiibos are probably going to fans who might have been priced out of the market before but could afford them at retail price. They are also more likely to open them and not resell it, which leaves less stock for the uber rich but not always paying attention crowd, which will drive up the process for those who do resell. Again, this is unverified conjecture but it's a possibility.
I wouldnt worry about that its not as noticeable as other paint app issues I've seen on D3. Overall though I think he is the best quality Amiibo or top 3 for sure.
