As an update. I decided to just cancel all auctions and cancel my Wal-mart preorders. More power to the other people on here.

enjoy the freedom...

Good on you. I sold off a Pit, Wii Fit Trainer (x2), Villager, and Diddy Kong (x2) to pay off some bills. Feels good, man.
This is going to become another ethics debate if I persist, so all I'll say is another "Sigh", a heavy one, and leave it at that.

Random side note: I had a dream last night that I met Reginald VelJohnson on the street. Weird.

Jesus making around $100 off these just for listing three on eBay. Some spare cash along with my job income so I can afford a laptop for college. Nothing personal, folks. Just business.

I only have on amiibo and that's the fire mario amiibo. :(

Don't blame you, done it myself. But don't expect a warm reception around here. And for good reason really because many here are struggling to even find their favorite amiibo so this kind of talk is just salt in the wound.

bms, that's actually really cool of you to do, man. I'm sure others would very much appreciate getting Gold Mario for a reasonable price, now.

If I can't say anything good about amiibo sellers, I should just not say anything or I risk the ban hammer. And I'm not getting banned with E3 getting closer and closer.

Pretty much, rjinaz. I don't like to be exclusionary and single people out, it's just that, as you say, it's salt in the wound for sooo many people here.

You know what, screw it, I know shulk is on nin-nin for $30 but with shipping even at the lowest it'll be $40+. No, I am not spending more than $30 on just one amiibo. Screw that noise. If it never comes back up, then I'll just go shulk-less.

Just curious, would you guys have an issue with someone buying one, and then a few months later realizing it's worth a lot and deciding to sell it for its value?

I haven't done that and don't plan to, but I don't really see the issue with that. Collectors items increase in value based on rarity and demand, I don't think someone is obligated to sell something they could get $80 for at MSRP instead.

Now.. Buying multiples with the sole purpose of selling is a different matter.

Edit: for example let's say I get fed up with Nintendos crap and want out of the amiibo collecting craze. I don't think I should feel obligated to sell my Villager for $12.99 plus shipping.

Do whatever you want. Just don't come in here bragging that you sold 10 Shulks when so many wonderful people are struggling to get one.

I don't care about people selling a handful of rare Amiibos when it's an opportunity to pay bills or something. It's the scalpers who run into Toys R Us and scoop up 40 Lucarios in front of the line, who are offensive. The pictures on Craigslist of 60 Marths lined up cover a bed and floor.

Got my notification from Wal-Mart. Yup, both transactions have been canceled. You folks who want to complete a collection need them more than me.

Basically this. I don't want to know how much you made in profit. If you made money, good for you, just keep it to yourself.

Do you have little Mac or Pit

I'd trade a new sealed shulk for that.

I'm actually confused by the people with more than 1 Gold mario ordered.

I ordered 2. They cancelled 1 of them. I ordered another one when they went up a second time. They cancelled it. I ordered another one when they went up a third time. They cancelled it.

I just figured they were enforcing a 1 per household or something. Apparently they just hate me.

But what if those people are just trying to pay bills? Where do you draw the line really? At 5 amiibo? At 10?

I draw the line at 2. 2 is understandable, maybe you want a sealed one and an open one. Maybe both you and your kid want one. Who am I to judge.

But 3 or more, GTFO.

This and people who say things like "oh got 3x Little Mac looking for a trade!" Just annoy the hell out of me. If you are looking to trade then trade the one you have.

Or even worse the people that buy 2 so they can open and use one, keep the other sealed.

I see nothing wrong with 2. For instance I managed to get 2 Gold Marios, one for me, and another to trade to someone with another rare amiibo. (Already claimed btw).

Ugh...the wait for more information is killing me...Just waiting for someone to post news about "OMG total reshipment of all amiibo waves!"...

But 'tis but a dream...

I've sold old games to pay bills. Case in point, I sold the Metroid Prime Trilogy once it hit Wii U and that helped pay a doctor's bill or two. But I don't go and buy amiibo with the point of reselling them right away for a higher price. Heck, when I ended up with a second Rosalina (in this case, my import), I sold it on Amazon for the price I paid to import it and not a dime more.

The only time I sort of did this was when I found Violet from Disney Infinity (a discontinued figure) for $7 on clearance at Best Buy. I ended up selling her for face value to a friend, so a $5 profit after taxes.

Then that's still under the 2 threshold, thank you.

If you have 3 kids who all want the same thing, you've gotta set those kids straight.

Man, screw you, I love all my children equally, and if they all want Rosalina, then by God I'll do my best to get them all Rosalina.

I have no children. None at all

At least that's keeping it in the family... why would anyone want to trade an amiibo they only have one of? ...

Also buying one sealed and one open ... is the ONLY TRUE way to collect something that has a practical use as well...

Honestly If I had 2 of something and someone else had 2 of something and we traded one... it's as if we would have bought 1 of each... and both parties are happy cause now they are more complete...

All I need are the holy rare 3 and little Mac , then commons and I'm all caught up

me too. Just picked up DK and Pikachu today haha

Or you could just buy one and the person behind you bought one. And the same goes for the other party in question.

And if I buy anything for collecting I never open it. I Dont buy two that's just unethical.

Is this the portion of the thread where we admit we've sold stuff on eBay?

I did end up with an extra Pit in late January. I sold him on eBay recently, BUT, I did start it at 99 cents.
He sold for $41.

I actually had plans to give him away in Amiibo Thread 2... actually I think it was right at the beginning of Thread 3, but the thread took a turn for the worse right around that time, so I said screw it. There are tons of great people in here, but I was afraid someone who didn't deserve him would get him.

Air must be getting thin on that high horse you keep riding around. I think we get it, man.

YES! But he wasn't Carl Winslow, he was just plain old Reginald! Shook his hand and talked about something I can't remember. Weird, but awesome, because I LOVED Family Matter growing up!

A Reginald VelJohnson sighting is like a unicorn sighting: beautiful, but nobody will believe it actually happened. I believe he's been floating in the ether ever since Family Matters ended.

Here's the deal... If those weren't purchased by me and traded with someone who actually wants one... They'd have been scalped. (I actually havent traded any yet... ) Its certainly better that having them end up online for 5 times the cost... right?

Hence that's why people do it... ethical or not... its dog eat dog out there... you do what you can to secure what you need. Your good ethics are not going to stop those with awful intentions to take advantage of idiots on ebay... I'm glad you feel cleaner than everyone else though

I know that he has small parts in Die Hard and Ghostbusters. He was a cop in both of those. Carl Winslow was also a cop. I wonder if Reginald wanted to be a cop when he was little, but ended up playing cops instead.

Such a shame, too. I loved him in Die Hard, even though he might as well still been Carl Winslow with that role. Last I've seen him was a FunnyorDie video with Tim and Eric, and a separate FoD vid for New Year's (or was it College Humor...?)

Guy's lookin' pretty old, but I wish he coulda been getting more work all these years. I guess I'm biased to wishing him well because of how much nostalgia he imparts on me, even from just saying his name.

Whatever man. These threads just show me how selfish a lot of people are and it frustrates me.

It's not selfishness. Collectors put a LOT of time and energy into finding and buying these things (scouring the internet, driving around different cities, trading, etc.) and deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.

The people whining are the same people who expect to be able to walk into Target and walk out with every single Amiibo.

Ooooh man, his role in Die Hard was FAR from small. He was integral to the plot, as without him, everything would've fallen apart and John McClane would've died with the quickness.

Best. Christmas movie. Ever.

Its definitely selfish. I've seen people who've waited all night to get an amiibo get screwed because the couple people in front of him were allowed to buy 2.

But whatever, apparently I'm in the minority. And for people saying I'm "holier than thou", maybe its true. Because each Amiibo since release has been offered to be " put aside" for me and I tell them no, it wouldn't be fair to those that are really interested in it when I only want a select few which I will wait for like everyone else.

:/

Real talk, is that really a bad expectation? I mean separate from what you guys are even talking about. I have put tons of hours and money into getting the ones that I have now, but I would enjoy these a lot more if it really was that easy.

Edit: also, are avatars screwing up or is it just my internet?

Honestly... that is exactly what I would expect. As it is now, I am just not bothering and only have a few or Hyrule and screw the others.

Well then stop posting in them?

I don't think this little story puts you in the light that you think it does.

Best. Christmas movie. Ever.

So... I've actually never seen Die Hard.

Also,
Gremlins
is the best Christmas movie ever.
