Freaking? That was really hyperbole. I don't really pay attention to amiibo close enough in first place until I saw a huge picture of it which made it noticeable for me.
 
I saw a Toon Link Amiibo at the shops the other day so I finally caved in and bought one. He looks swell next to my WFT Amiibo that a friend got me for christmas.

It would be weird if it didn't. Aside from them being in the character portrait, in Japan Olimar's name is Pikmin & Olimar. That'd be like excluding Luma from the Rosalina amiibo.

The world has no clue. There are 6 announced amiibo without firm release dates, and he's not one of them, so it'll be a while. Soonest they might possibly come out is april, so certainly not possible before May. Maybe even longer than that, if he isn't in the 5th wave of smash either, or if they ease up on the release schedule at all.

Have you not ever collected anything? Any collection of anything is utterly useless as a "tool"-like function, but they all have something else in common: they captivate the collector. Stamps don't do it for me, shot glasses don't do it for me, nor do golf balls, magnets, rocks, butterflies, art, historical artifacts, cards, knives, guns, cars, watches, apple products, coca-cola products, wine, antiques, fossils, etc. Amiibo, for now, do, along with movies. It's just that simple. A person's collection is an expression of their self, whether they mean it to be or not, so I encourage you to continue asking yourself what a person's collection is telling you about them, even if you don't share their interest.
 
Has anyone tried using a Peach Amiibo and then saving the data on something new and reset like Marth?

Have the game read then create a Peach custom data then save in onto a clean Samus.

Apparently it's possible since someone reset a Samus nfc chip to use for a monorail.

It complains that it's the wrong Amiibo.

I thought they modified/replaced the NFC chip in that instance.
 
Good news is that there isn't a crazy amount of people at Nintendo World. Funny that there are two lines. One for amiibos and one for SNL.

Shit, I figured it would be huge. Wonder what my odds are arriving in 1.5 hours since that's how long its going to take me.

True. I wish Nintendo World would just stop tweeting about when they are going to sell amiibos. It seems like people would have a better chance of getting them that way and wouldn't have to go line up at ungodly hours. I think word of mouth would spread quickly enough that they would still sell fast enough.

During Wave 2 they would just tweet out what they have in stock in the middle of the day. So people would trickle in as fast as they could get there.
 
I kinda figured people would start lining up at like 5 am for the Nintendo world store
Brrrrrrr to cold for that but I would if I lived there

Wonder how many brought their friends , bf, gf, kids or parents to get more than 1 amiibo


I saw two people have amiibos hanging by their neck at pax East yesterday, like they had the clip attached to the top of the figure , dunno if they trading or showing off but looked cool lol
 
Finding one is turning into the impossible, but if anybody has an extra D3 and Meta Knight they want to sell please PM me.

That or you live in New York and can go to the Nintendo Store to buy him. Either way, Shulk is pretty damn rare. You might need to consider importing if you want to get him.

Nah. Does exactly what the other amiibo do but if you don't have him, it'll tell you over and over you can download him for $1 on each system to play as him.

EDIT: By the looks of it, it was put up without being able to actually pre-order it.

I would like a Gold Mario amiibo, but I don't wanna buy another copy of Mario Party 10 just for it.

They had plenty this morning. I was in line since 7:15am and was already about 150 people back. I just got out of there and they still had all five they said they would.

My fingers and feet are absolutely frozen. It was a brutal wait today.

But got Lucario, Rosalina, Shulk and Ike :-). Didn't get another DeDeDe cause I already have two in perfect condition.

Edit: When they opened a box of Rosalina I saw at least 16 maybe 20 in one box. And they just kept bringing boxes out of the back.
