Pretty lame that NWS gets all the stock for these exclusives and rares.

Good for those in NY. The rest of NA gets fisted.

I have 29/29 NIB NA so I'm not salty to get any. Just very lame for everyone else and how they seem to funnel extra stock there.

Aha, thing is most of my games are on cartridges which I store in a set of draws

It does highlight the bullshit of the retailer exclusives; nearly impossible for anyone to get unless you live in NYC, where all things considered there's been a fairly good chance to get what you want due to so many restocks.

Well at least there is one place Nintendo seems to love as much as Japan.

Seriously, so salty right now. Kind of glad I'm not standing in a line though at this moment.

It was very very very cold this morning.10 degrees but wind chill of 2 degrees when I left this morning.

But yes, NWS is definitely a great resource if you are an Amiibo hunter. However, haven't seen a Villager / Marth restock since December, so my guess is, that after these runs are over, NWS will be out of stock of these characters as well (Lucario, Rosalina, Shulk, etc.). Again, this is all my speculation but there certainly isn't an infinite amount.

Edit for clarification: I know they are going to restock Marth due to a reprint.

I don't know if I should go amiibo hunting when I get out of work today to look for Sonic in the wild... It's tiresome and depressing to go to stores only to find the amiibo section full of Bowsers, two Luigis and Nintendo DS cases.

:(

I randomly walked into a GameStop yesterday and bought a Sonic.

So cold... With it being almost 80 here today, it's hard to imagine.

I must admit Ike is one amiibo that does look a lot better to me in person than in photos. Bright lights or flash photography doesn't seem kind to the paint job.

I have an extra one I can sell to you if you don't want to go hunting for it.

My only problem is that they do this event at inconvenient days... I am not willing to skip work for amiibos. But it seems like they get a nice stock here in NYC.

I am insanely jealous...I'd give anything to live near NYC so I could've been there.

I wasn't even planning on going till a friend asked me which is how I have two Ike's. I can't decide whether to keep it closed or give it a friend for their birthday.
Most likely gift it.

Geeze seeing that sort of demand STILL is impressive. Let's play a game of "how many people are in that line to resell"???

They were some assholes selling their stuff to people near the end of the line.

You realize that Saturday is the busiest shopping day of the week by far, don't you? There's literally no more convenient day for the rest of the 320 million people in this country.

A good amount of that 320 million has to work on Saturday and doesn't have access to the single store in the single city that these were made available at today. I can understand the frustration.

I finally got home. Here's my haul and collection!

God damn I'm jelly. Mad jelly. I've been hounding online orders and going out a few times a week looking for stuff and I don't have all the ones you picked up in one day. And a number of the ones I do have I paid a bit over retail for.

amiibo buying is generally frustrating, but what else can Nintendo do, besides supply more stock? They probably can't arrange for huge queues/police support every day of the week.

it's not much different than the entire retail amiibo experience so far though. I have to work on saturdays too, but it's not like that matters when new releases require lining up at opening to even have a shot. Meta Knight releasing at bestbuy in tiny quantities that would have required lining up at like 6am in 8 degree weather killed the entire thing for me.

They supplied more stock to one store in one city. There's better ways to reach demand.

For how much though? I'd gladly give that person $25, maybe even $30 for a Shulk. No line waiting in the cold and I wouldn't have to worry about them selling out before I got there.

I can understand if you wouldn't but it might be appealing to somebody.

I could kick myself.

So I decided not to try and waste y time hunting down the Amiibos I want and just pay the extra amount and buy them off of Amazon. I bought sonic and Mega Man for $25 each.

Now, I work at a Wal-Mart that NEVER gets any good Amiibos in and regularly doesn't update their game section on time either. So what do I see as I'm leaving work at 10PM last night? Sonic and Mega Man. They just stocked them on the shelves. UGH!

the supply they send to their one retail store is likely nothing in terms of the national scale. If they sent this elsewhere, it would just piss people off more with preorders selling out immediately or stores only getting a few again.

NJ/Philly gaffers looking for Sonic/Megaman Amiibos. I was able to grab MegaMan and Sonic at NextLevel Videogames in Blackwood, NJ for retail price. They are a retro shop. I bought 1 of 3 MegaMans they had.

I then went to the Gamestop right across the street and they had about 20 Sonics on display. So if you are in that area and need Sonic go.

Found an Ike at Best Buy today. Wasn't expecting that at all.

On a separate note, saw plenty of Sonics and Mega Mans around my area. Mostly at Toys R Us and Game Stop

Yeah. If Greninja, Jigglypuff and Splatoon are really the next wave of Amiibo.
They probably won't reveal it until the next big Nintendo direct

I honestly hope they don't sell them together like that as a Wave, especially since it pulls in another franchise. 5 and 6 should just finish off Smash, but Splatoon can be its own thing, especially since there are plenty of people only collecting the Smash ones.

Dunno how I'd feel about only 2 Smash amiibos in the next wave. I feel like I'd want more to look forward to than just two of them. Maybe they're getting them out of the way for a final 11 (12 of they do Mewtwo) amiibo megawave afterwards, dunno.

Probably won't get any Splatoon amiibos but if one comes bundled with the game, might as well...
and then I'll need to get all of them.

Eh, I really wouldn't take those early listings as definitive proof the next Smash wave is only Jigglypuff and Greninja.

Here is my one glamour shot
thus far
:

It feels too damn good to be able to breathe until the next wave. Really hope preorders open up soon so I can focus on cleaning up around the house for Spring ...

Yeah, I'm not putting a ton of stock into the rumor, it sounds a little farfetched to me if I'm being frank. At the same time I wouldn't be that surprised if it happens though. We'll see how everything pans out!
