The first battle is your starter + a NPCs Machinedramon so yeah, he's in the game.
Obvious answer: DLC, they wouldn't do pre-order DLC that you can get in game. There would be no incentive to pre-order if that was the case.

Does anyone know if HiAndromon can Digivolve into Craniumon in this game? I'm trying to decide whether to evolve my Hagurumon into Guardromon or Starmon.

They could just make it harder to get them normally, but you're probably right.
I wonder, do the BlackAgumon and BlackGabumon lines affect the number in the index (249?) or does it just stay blank if you don't have the DLC?

If the copies they have are from the first print copies then yes, otherwise no.

ive created black gabumon from normal evolution though might be because the dlc is in. as i did it before meeting the npc who gives you your dlc stuff.

Looking over some evolutionary lines from the past, Clockmon and Guardromon both have been able to evolve to Mugendramon before. So there's definitely a chance of Hagurumon evolving up to Mugendramon.

Mugendramon is such a sinister name, which suits it better.
So, is a partner Myotismon not possible? I take it this isn't like the Digimon World games? As far as obtainable Digimon are concerned, that is.

Huh, interesting. It would be cool if someone without the DLC could give a confirmation.
I'm assuming BlackGabumon is included in the 240 number in the index?
I wish the games were more consistent with the evolutions, though it does make it kind of fun wondering where certain lines might end up.
Like PlatinumNumemon.

I was looking to see if anyone had a basic guide up yet and stumbled upon menu translations. Here they are if anyone needs them.
Also, it looks like I found the answer to my DLC questions.

The only guides I can find are incomplete (mostly stuff about Terriermon, lol). It is a safe bet to go with Digimon that have been main characters in the anime, as their lines tend to be consistent. They also end up with some of the coolest designs.

that guide book is quite useful for all that info but not sure if you are interested in picking that up.
i have it and am quite happy with the content
Nah, I'll probably get bored of this evolution stuff halfway through the game once I get a team strong and bakanced enough to cut through everything.
I checked the friendship stuff and looks like digimons get 1-2% per fight if they're in the active party. Enough for the early 10% requirements but I'll probably use the farm for the 40%+ ones.

Nippon-Yasan is no longer selling first print copies, for those thinking about ordering from them. The game is in stock and available to order, just without the BlackAgumon and BlackGabumon DLC codes.

It seems likely. Play-Asia are also out of stock, though expecting another shipment in a couple of days, possibly tomorrow (13/3).
I ended up buying it from eBay with the DLC.

the psp and 3ds ones were pretty well received here.
Added it just above the "Where to buy" section so people don't miss it.
Then you're fine, Play-Asia and other stores will get it restocked and/or will order it from their suppliers whenever they get orders for it.
in 2013, a Digimon Adventure video game developed by prope (Wiki Link) for the PSP came out and was pretty damned awesome. There was a lot of limitations caused by it being on the PSP but it was easily the best Digimon game I've played since the PS1 era (and maybe to a lesser extent Digimon World DS since I did enjoy that a bit).
Almost think they should have held it back, made it for the Vita and released it this year with Tri but ah well. Cyber Sleuth looks to be pretty damned good so I'm not complaining too much lol.

Are you still enjoying the game, do you like the story and characters. How is the combat, different types, elements +buffs/debuffs sounds complex in a good way IMO but how does it work in practice (do you have to be strategic)?
It is really hard to resist just buying it off PSN even though it's coming next week/week after.

Haha probably but I still can't resist keeping physicals. I've double dipped on a lot of things so it's not too much of a stretch. (I have 3 Tales of Graces f... one american copy from being impatient when I got it early from an import shop that broke street date, one normal american copy that I got from the internet and an EU copy)
Ah well, see how I feel after I get a good nights sleep.

You can evolve and degenerate as you please. There are multiple evolution lines and it is often required that a Digimon degenerates at least once to get a certain evolution.
No problem, thanks for your help. Can I ask where did you this information from? I figured out the 20 talent and 50 friendship line but there's a long line underneath that remains cross out. Must be a special requirement or something.

Rapidmon is ラピットモン. These are armor evolution requirements, so maybe you need the Destiny Digimental to do it.

Im still early on but have a bunch of high lv digimon. Though Id def need to advance the story more as need other items to boost stats at the farm among other things to make even higher level ones. That and the exp is a bit slow where Im at. Got about 39 registered could increase that even more but I want to gain more levels first on certain digimon before evolving them. They would be considered high lv for where Im at since can only like stick 2-3 in the PT due to the memory limits lol.
Still have not messed with the devolve / evolve stuff to check the level caps though.
