Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

I'm playing on PS4. Is there a button for shooting black people, or does that just happen automatically since I'm playing a cop?

Subtle. Guess this is the quality of the discussion we should expect regarding non gameplay elements in this game.

$60 + Premium ($60)

versus a $15 expansion that should have been included in the bf4 premium.

Lol, way to undervalue years of work...no way you get a campaign + multiplayer for $15. It's pretty clear you aren't interested...do you feel the same way about yearly COD releases?

Just preordered this, will also be my first BF game. Any tips for a former CoD player?

Don't trust cover because more often then not, it'll be destroyed.

Spot spot spot. All the time.

Communicate with your team if possible at all available opportunities.

Play the objective, kills mean nothing if you lose.

Try to be more reserved than when playing Call of Duty. Hardline definitely has an infantry focus but still, cautious play is recommended. Defense is the best offense and all that.

Don't waste vehicles. Especially in Hardline where they're a rare commodity, make sure to spare them for people who will use them effectively if you cannot.

This is all great advice. I spent the first dozen hours or so just spotting enemies for my team, and then following the orders of my squad leader. I racked up points. :D

Played the prologue and episode 1 via EA Access. Seemed okay from that small portion but can't judge the full game from such a short amount of play time. The game's multiplayer is not for me. My main interest in the game is the campaign.

Anyone using a VPN to get in early? I'm still pre loading. Pretty excited for the campaign...they better have proper controller support. If a lot of PS4 BF Gaf gets this I may double dip for the multiplayer.

Anyhoo, looking forward to the game. Seems like rather than rushing a yearly release, taking a year off for a franchise and taking their time with it pays off.

FWIW, it was meant to mock trigger-happy cops. If you didn't read it as such, it's on you.

And what's all this talk about this should've been an expansion? There's like a full 10-hour campaign along with a whole new slew of multiplayer stuff. What about this seems like it should be an expansion?

That was terrible. Please don't shit up this thread.

EA would charge more than $15 for this content and you don't have to buy premium, lol. Ease down Ripley, you're just grinding the transaxle.

This is all great advice. I would also recommend another part.

Dont be afraid to pull back and use a class that SUPPORTS your team rather than one that simply drives kills. Especially if you're having a shitty round. Providing cover fire by way of hailing bullets at your foes and pinning them down, providing ammo, health, and revives, can help drive your team to the W.

I think I have 2 hours left on XB1 early access gonna finish that up tonight and get the PS4 tomorrow from Best Buy.

I honestly am tempted to just cancel the whole thing completely. I really didn't enjoy much aside from Blood Money for some reason. Doesn't seem like a ton to do this time around.. In the end the Best Buy deals have sold me yet again on a questionable purchase. $48 day one plus a $10 gift card with purchase. It's like a free rental if I decide to sell in month or something.

PUMPED for Jamestown+ as my shooter of choice for this week. :)

Edit: Protips to stay atop leaderboard. SPOT, HEAL, AMMO and REVIVE. You know actually play your role while gunning. Please don't be a whore medic, noone likes a whore medic who dies to revive you then u die immediately as well when you stand up. Also Blood Money, gas mask and gas grenades are good times.

Picked up the PC version for $50. I'm game for another Battlefield. I hope the campaign is good. I've yet to really any enjoy almost anything about the BF3/4 campaign other than to enjoy the graphics.

Krappadizzle on Origins if you want to play MP later.

The Xbox One version is straight up UGLY across the board. As a matter of fact, after playing on PC for an hour, I can tell you, the game is just plain unattractive regardless of platform. I'm running at 1920x1080, everything maxed and holy hell, things like the foliage on Everglades are absolutely horrific. It's clear that Visceral just wasn't familiar enough with the engine and that the art team didn't care enough to compensate.

It's really disappointing as the game is still an absolute blast to play and it runs as smooth as butter on PC but they really should have spent more of their efforts into reworking the visuals before launch.

If you run the Operator class and choose Survivalist over Defibs...

Rather unfortunate. I was hoping it'd look just as good as 1.5 year old BF4 at the very least.

Not sure to pick this up?

Get EA Access for $4.99 this month or $29.99.

$4.99 you can play the game for 10 hours and decide if you want the game. Then if you do you can purchase for 10% off basically getting your $4.99 back anyway. This way you can demo any game you want.

I think you can also play games 10 days early too.

*Sigh* I expect this from a launch title, not form year two.

Makes sense...way I see it I got about 1.5 years out of bf4(and I'll continue playing) and will probably get the same out of Hardline until bf5 next fall. $120 for a few hundred hours of gameplay doesn't deter me at all...

Don't get me wrong, I love Battlefield and don't mind paying for premium like I did with 3 and 4, I own it on PC(w/ Prem), PS4 (bought it at launch) and 360 and I was pissed about how bad the launch was, I'm all in on DICE's next game.

I've played the campaign, and love the Shield related stuff, but it's not a full $60+ $60 game for me. I will pick this up eventually when I can get it all for under $40, but for now. I'm more hyped for BF5/Star Wars and based on the lack of upgrades for the console version, you can tell there really wasn't that much work put into MP.

I was looking through the thread earlier and someone said they played the game with a 290X card. I have that as well with a i5-4690K so would that combo work well for this game? I know it would handle Mantle but they (AMD) haven't said if that would be available at launch...all they said is that Hardline would have it.

Isn't mantle support automatically part of anything built on Frostbite now or is it more complex than that?

In either case it'll run fine on your rig assuming you're talking 1080p.

I bought the super-mega-deluxe-happy pack (PC) and still can't play, yet there are a bunch of PC streams up on Twitch. Cmon, EA.

i dont think thats the case at all, it seems they put quite some work into the multiplayer.

So the gunstats are up on Symthic. Extracted from the full game.

http://forum.symthic.com/battlefield-hardline/8933-bf-hardline-weapon-stats-live/

Imo. The stats are abit of a mess. Dont know what Visceral was thinking with some guns.
But awell.

Wow, looking at those stats TTK is going to be really short at close and even medium range. No wonder people are dying so quick.

Damage drop off starts way longer than BF4! On the M416 it starts at a ridiculous 40 meters! That's long range for ARs!

I just checked the stats for BF4 and the M416 damage drop off starts at 8 meters!!! WTF Visceral?

Still can't get over how people are fine with Russian, Chinese and American soldiers shooting each other at a much larger, and devastating scale. But they aren't cool with fucking cops and robbers because that's where they draw the line apparently.

I managed to get a copy of the PC version for around $40. That's a comfortable price for me. I'll definitely get some sort of enjoyment out of the campaign (I guess) and I'll probably dump hours into the MP between playing Type 0 and Cities Skylines.

I played it with a 290x . Mantle option is available, but the game crashed at the prologue screen using mantle, so i witched to direct 11 3d.

Game runs really well on ultra settings.

Screw it, I'm getting this on PS4. I'm going to order a XIM 4 to even the playing field (I completely suck with a controller online) and jumping on this. I liked the beta, even though I sucked.

I just like the cops and robbers scenario. Plus there's conquest for those who don't like the smaller maps. Interested about the campaign too.

I don't understand the criticism though. It doesn't look bad at all, certainly not like skins on BF4 as I've read so many people say. Once the Xim comes in, I'll stop by a bestbuy and give it a shot

PS I know there's a pc version if I prefer mouse and keyboard, but my pc is on the fritz, and it would cost more to fix it than to simply get a xim

$60 + Premium ($60)

$15 expansions for Battlefield are four maps, a few vehicles, a few guns, and one or two game modes. If Hardline was an expansion then the out of the box content would be spread out over three or four $15 expansions, and that doesn't even take the SP campaign into account. Also, if Premium works out like it did for BF4, then that will also be worth the additional $60 for people who choose to pay it.This idea that Hardline is little more than a single expansion pack is absurd. Whether or not you want to play the game is your choice, but don't try to twist the facts to fit some kind of anti-EA or anti-Battlefield agenda. I personally don't plan on buying Battlefield, as BF4 still has enough life left in it to last me until Battlefront, but there is no question that the content on offer is worth the price they are charging.

I would say so. It seems they've approached multiplayer with a more distinct philosophy than seen in BF3 and 4, more similar to say Bad Company 2 (no, this is not about destruction.)

Specifically, the maps were designed not to support every mode. There are infantry maps like Block where it is not possible to play Hotwire. Meanwhile there are much larger maps like Everglades that are designed with Conquest and Hotwire in mind. While that might seem restrictive I think it shows Visceral have put quite a bit of thought into the balance of game modes on a map by map basis. The one size fits all approach in BF3 but specifically BF4 saw some clearly imbalanced and sloppy application of modes like Rush because the maps were designed for Conquest.

This. No reason not to give any game a shot that is part of the $10 reward certificate program.

Yeah...I was talking about 1080p

I know Mantle wasn't available at BF4 launch so I wasn't sure if it was on this or not. Since it's having issues it probably needs a patch or AMD to release a new driver or something. Thanks for the help.

Need to move somewhere with real Internet. These 30GB downloads when your max speed is 1.2MB/s are horrible.

I'm downloading this now for the PS4. Been playing Call of Duty since December, and have been itching for a new multiplayer shooter.

So provided my download finishes in time and the servers aren't absolute shit, anyone want to party up on ps4 when it unlocks tonight? Psn is moneyman232 if anyone is down.
