I'm playing on PS4. Is there a button for shooting black people, or does that just happen automatically since I'm playing a cop?
Subtle. Guess this is the quality of the discussion we should expect regarding non gameplay elements in this game.

$60 + Premium ($60)
versus a $15 expansion that should have been included in the bf4 premium.
Just preordered this, will also be my first BF game. Any tips for a former CoD player?
Don't trust cover because more often then not, it'll be destroyed.
Spot spot spot. All the time.
Communicate with your team if possible at all available opportunities.
Play the objective, kills mean nothing if you lose.
Try to be more reserved than when playing Call of Duty. Hardline definitely has an infantry focus but still, cautious play is recommended. Defense is the best offense and all that.
Don't waste vehicles. Especially in Hardline where they're a rare commodity, make sure to spare them for people who will use them effectively if you cannot.
Lol, way to undervalue years of work...no way you get a campaign + multiplayer for $15. It's pretty clear you aren't interested...do you feel the same way about yearly COD releases?

Anyhoo, looking forward to the game. Seems like rather than rushing a yearly release, taking a year off for a franchise and taking their time with it pays off.
FWIW, it was meant to mock trigger-happy cops. If you didn't read it as such, it's on you.
And what's all this talk about this should've been an expansion? There's like a full 10-hour campaign along with a whole new slew of multiplayer stuff. What about this seems like it should be an expansion?
yep.

This is all great advice. I would also recommend another part.Don't trust cover because more often then not, it'll be destroyed.

I'm running at 1920x1080, everything maxed and holy hell, things like the foliage on Everglades are absolutely horrific.
If you run the Operator class and choose Survivalist over Defibs...

Rather unfortunate. I was hoping it'd look just as good as 1.5 year old BF4 at the very least.
My worry with this game is that it's gonna decimate the BF4 population, cause I'm just gonna keep playing that instead.

The Xbox One version is straight up UGLY across the board. As a matter of fact, after playing on PC for an hour, I can tell you, the game is just plain unattractive regardless of platform. I'm running at 1920x1080, everything maxed and holy hell, things like the foliage on Everglades are absolutely horrific. It's clear that Visceral just wasn't familiar enough with the engine and that the art team didn't care enough to compensate.
It's really disappointing as the game is still an absolute blast to play and it runs as smooth as butter on PC but they really should have spent more of their efforts into reworking the visuals before launch.
Makes sense...way I see it I got about 1.5 years out of bf4(and I'll continue playing) and will probably get the same out of Hardline until bf5 next fall. $120 for a few hundred hours of gameplay doesn't deter me at all...
I was looking through the thread earlier and someone said they played the game with a 290X card. I have that as well with a i5-4690K so would that combo work well for this game? I know it would handle Mantle but they (AMD) haven't said if that would be available at launch...all they said is that Hardline would have it.
i dont think thats the case at all, it seems they put quite some work into the multiplayer.Don't get me wrong, I love Battlefield and don't mind paying for premium like I did with 3 and 4, I own it on PC(w/ Prem), PS4 (bought it at launch) and 360 and I was pissed about how bad the launch was, I'm all in on DICE's next game.
I've played the campaign, and love the Shield related stuff, but it's not a full $60+ $60 game for me. I will pick this up eventually when I can get it all for under $40, but for now. I'm more hyped for BF5/Star Wars and based on the lack of upgrades for the console version, you can tell there really wasn't that much work put into MP.
So the gunstats are up on Symthic. Extracted from the full game.

Imo. The stats are abit of a mess. Dont know what Visceral was thinking with some guns.
But awell.

$15 expansions for Battlefield are four maps, a few vehicles, a few guns, and one or two game modes. If Hardline was an expansion then the out of the box content would be spread out over three or four $15 expansions, and that doesn't even take the SP campaign into account. Also, if Premium works out like it did for BF4, then that will also be worth the additional $60 for people who choose to pay it.This idea that Hardline is little more than a single expansion pack is absurd. Whether or not you want to play the game is your choice, but don't try to twist the facts to fit some kind of anti-EA or anti-Battlefield agenda. I personally don't plan on buying Battlefield, as BF4 still has enough life left in it to last me until Battlefront, but there is no question that the content on offer is worth the price they are charging.$60 + Premium ($60)

I think I have 2 hours left on XB1 early access gonna finish that up tonight and get the PS4 tomorrow from Best Buy.
I honestly am tempted to just cancel the whole thing completely. I really didn't enjoy much aside from Blood Money for some reason. Doesn't seem like a ton to do this time around.. In the end the Best Buy deals have sold me yet again on a questionable purchase. $48 day one plus a $10 gift card with purchase. It's like a free rental if I decide to sell in month or something.
I played it with a 290x . Mantle option is available, but the game crashed at the prologue screen using mantle, so i witched to direct 11 3d.
Game runs really well on ultra settings.
Isn't mantle support automatically part of anything built on Frostbite now or is it more complex than that?
In either case it'll run fine on your rig assuming you're talking 1080p.

Why dont we have reviews, yet?
Was told reviews go up at midnight, 12 AM PST/ 3 AM EST.
