Nah - the one in Trademeet man.

yeah, that's even closer but I haven't finished BG2 yet, so I haven't gone to Trademeet :(

Have they said anything about how detailed the (digital) manual will be? Something I loved about NWN was how they included the ruleset, complete with tables. It bothers me that so many RPGs that have a focus on numbers and customization don't really explain how the game works internally.

Seconded.

Oh my god the hype just hit me. I think I'm going to explode.

Edit: Is this guide the same Prima guide included in the Royal Edition, only physical?
Yes. The physical edition is in limited quantities.

The manual will be between your typical RPG manual and Baldur's Gate 2 manual.

But not anything near the monstrosity of a bible the BGII manual was.

Just checked GOG and saw the name on front page. How have I not heard of this game before?!? Well maybe seen a glimpse of it long time ago, but didn't know it's soon to be released :O
The game looks like Baldur's Gates etc. and those are some of my favorite games of all time. So very hyped for this.

I'm right near the end of Act II. I wanna see Act III. I gave up on it last time and just moved to MotB before getting to this point.

I thought the NWN2 oc gets better the farther you get in the game. The orc caves were the low point of the game but after that it's pretty okay. Plus, I liked the dwarf and tiefling companions

Prima Guide now has 4 IN-GAME pages for viewing. Looks amazing! Love the art accompanying the stats. Sadly, a lot of this data will be outdated (primarily ability tooltips since Josh is tweaking them, but that's what the wiki is for).
God that is tempting. I've already ordered the lorebook, but that hardcover Prima guide is gorgeous.

did a portrait of an aumaua mage.

Very nice work! You've got the PoE portrait style nailed :)

The only great companion is the last one you get in the game. It helps that he is the least cliche and flat and has the most importance to the plot.

So right I've decided on a fighter, paladin off tank, priest, harry potter, chanter, cipher for my first party. Though I might drop the chanter for a rogue if things need more whacking.

I don't think it looks like the Pillars of Eternity art style, but nice job nonetheless :P Unmistakably an Aumaua, maybe with hair loss xD

Hey....where the heck is the waterfall in those guide shots...thats the same location they teased in the first kickstarter picture/video that looked awesome.

Sensuki when the game drops you think you'll be able to enjoy it in a kind of innocent way despite the fact that you've been super deep in the shit trying to find bugs/point out flawed mechanics for the past six months or whatever?

Is the wiki up to date on character attributes? I am wondering exactly how Might and Resolve affect a chanter's buffs/debuffs.

It was previously, at least to what the last version of the BB had it, but looks like someone moved Duration % to the Resolve section. Don't know if that's just a screw up or if there will be some upcoming changes to Attributes in the final release.

Sooo... my "characters stuck" bug happened again (and I knew it would - a dev told me the whole playthrough was bugged) but I managed to cheat my way out of it. Using, of course, cheats - I used the console commands to "warp" to different locations so I wouldn't have to throw away my playthrough.

So now I'm in Lle a Rhemen temple and I gotta ask: any good tips for dealing with those fucking shades, phantoms and the phantom lady there?

Watching Arvan Eleron playing PoE and I'm getting giddy about the amount of lore attached to a pair of boots. I really love the overall movement away from boring +1 Swords to "This had sword has a history which is related to its boon, but may also hold baggage" (actual spoilers under the spoiler tags)
for example the boots he found we're owned by a marathon/messenger runner who was blessed by the avatar of her god for her hard work. The boots give bonuses to movement.
However I recognised that avatars name, and its the same one that caused a giant war and was defeated, and is now illegal to worship his god in Dyrwood.

The same god that Edér is persecuted for worshiping...

The IE games had swords with item descriptions :P
I was too young for those games I have a feeling after playing this I'm gonna buy BG though.
I was also talking overall with 5e and PoE moving away from the +1 sword/Legendary purple pants. Its a trend I really like

Aww man. Carsomyr. Memories of Minsc dual-wielding maces with Crom Faeyr in offhand and Keldorn with Carsomyr wrecking everything. Think I'll replay BG2 after PoE..

Can't wait to see what interesting little back stories they have for equipment in this game.

I liked the BG stuff for what it was but never cared so much because I wasn't all that enthralled by the Forgotten Realms setting as a whole.

This game is not especially easy on Normal Difficulty. At least for me and my party makeup.I've wiped a few times within the first 3 levels, and had to take on a dungeon boss multiple times before I got him tanked correctly and took him down.

Edit: It's not especially hard in a scary way either. Feels properly balanced.

That's probably because of the Backer Beta party is ridiculously undergeared and you probably didn't know what you were doing.

I've completed the beta on Hard with with 0-1 total party knockdowns multiple times. Personally don't find 'Hard' very hard at all, path of damned is more my speed.

If you're experienced with IE games a Normal playthrough will become boring real fast once you have an understanding of mechanics.

Pretty sure he's playing the full game, not the backer beta.

5 days away now. Got my party cheat sheet together and looking forward to getting my backer rewards. Can't say I've been this hyped about a game in years.

I really wish they had been able to get the lorebook out this week via Amazon... Not only would it have been a nice distraction, but I'd have liked to to go into the game knowing more about the setting. It doesn't ship until the 24th, which means I'll already be playing the game by the time it arrives.

Maybe they will do it digital? They are doing that for the game guide! Hell I think backers get a digital copy.

Edit: I checked, I'm getting a paper hardback copy of the world guide so if anyone wants my PDF copy I may well give it away when I get the ability to redeem it.
