Taking a break to have breakfast after besting cleric beast after too many attempts. Was not expecting such a tough first boss. Probably would have help if I could figure out how his stun mechanic actually works.

First impressions are pretty spectacular, just those pesky load times. I'd heard they weren't good buy man, it is actually a very significant issue imo. Stiff adjustment coming from 3 seconds on darks souls 2 pc.

between dying constantly, the load screens, and running through the same areas over and over

idk.. this series might not be for me :(

Yeah, the game reinforces you to get good.
Repetition leads to mastery after all.

And when you finally become a skilled player, you will barely die in a Souls game.

But it's a glorious feeling when you finally slash, kill and survive through that fucked up area, just to move to even deeper pits of hell filled with even worse enemies and challenges.

Then, in the end, you finally rise from that hell as a true winner.

So I found the spider thing that was hanging off a building in the previews... except it's much closer.
It's literally right above me and it's creeping me the fuck out

How does the game give direction of where to go? For example, Dark Souls told us to ring the two bells before sending us on our merry way.

Picked Waste of Skin, beat first boss on first attempt but holy shit the 2nd boss is owning my ass hard. Died to him 5 times and don't feel like I'll do any better on the next go. Kirkhammer seems really weak in its base form with minimum STR (just enough to use it)

How do I repair my weapon? My starter weapon is degraded, and I haven't found any new weapon or any way to repair the one I have.

edit: nvm just found it. I feel dumb.

the fatty ground crows crack me up

Dude, those guys freaked me out when I first met them. I was not expecting them to jump into the air and start screeching. I'm loving the atmosphere of the game so far. Between the new mechanics, the world, and the twisty level design (I love the way everything folds back in on itself), this game is super tense for me. It's like the Tower of Latria all the time.

Beat Father G on my second attempt. Was simple after figuring out how to parry. I'm feeling a little let down by the boss fights so far.

Thanks, what about best class?

Starting class is really not that important, because you can suit any class to your liking later via leveling up. But if you're new to Souls then pick the class with the highest stat for the starting weapon scaling stat to maximise your damage output early on.

Yes, my CE has finally shipped and will be in my hands tomorrow. Luckily I have managed to stay completely blind, except some random gifs here on Gaf I accidentally saw. I'm so incredibly excited, this is my first completely blind Souls-like game. I somehow managed to completely spoil myself before playing DaS and DaS2, and I never played DeS.

See you all next week :-)

How many tries did it take? I'm sill on him. I need to quit being so stubborn and farm some vials and maybe level up a time or two before going back to him.

Found it!

So uh, location spoilers? When you get to the big church like area where you can go across the catwalks, go through the catwalks till you find an outside area, you'll find a Huntress who teaches you the shake cape emoticon.

Edit-Although I think my controllers broken..I can't do any of the motionss
