Heads up, Giant Bomb will have a Quick Look of PoE up tomorrow morning, roughly 15 hours from this post.
If it makes you feel better I got mine from GMG and still no key.
God, the 26th is so close and yet so far, grrr.

Yes, they've started basic high level discussion about that recently. They want it to be comparable to Tales of the Sword Coast for BG1. It will be an expansion on the main game, not a followup, and it's likely they modify a good portion of the main game.
They've talked about looking into adding in proper AI for companions and some other stuff like that. Wouldn't be surprised to see further modifying of the game mechanics, abilities, attributes and so on based on main game feedback.
Also a good possibility of more companions added in.
Awesome news! Likely a Rorie + Brad joint if I had to guess. I hope that they do it justice.
Unless something changed GMG doesn't tend to send out keys until launch so preload is never or rarely an option.
If it matters (it probably shouldn't), the Steam version has achievements, badges, etc.Man, I'm starting to worry about which key I should claim as a backer.
Steam's always up and running for me, and I love the time tracking....and very rarely would I be somewhere that I wouldn't be able to hop on the internet to take advantage of that.
Is anyone taking the GOG copy and would care to share why?
I went with gog for Wasteland 2 and patching is always a pain. Definitely go for steam.

With GOG Galaxy probably this will change....
Probably
Man, I need to finish that game. Actually, I need to finish a lot of games. Steam backlog is a huge embarrassment.
One day maybe GoG will fix the issues I have downloading from them, or they have already and I should probably check. Might actually convince me to snag Planescape: Torment from them next time I have some pocket money since I've never played it.

Anyone in this thread that hasn't played Torment needs to get on that right this minute.
Pillars can wait!I fully plan to grab Torment if my GoG download issues have been fixed soon as I have the spare change again.
But right this minute? There is no way I can complete that before PoE launches!
Amazing game i must say...and with all the GOTY Edition changes, even better...
Perks...YES!
It's pretty short! Only 40 hours! PoE launches in what, two days? You can do it.
I don't think Wasteland 2's balance has been smoothed out to this day. I do know they've been hyping a big balance patch for some time.As I recall, there were balance issues with the machine guns, in that, you would be silly to NOT have all your characters equipping them because pistols/shotguns/etc. were more or less bugged and machine guns yielded the best accuracy.
They ironed this out with a later patch? Because there's nothing worse in an RPG that to get about 35% of the way in before you realize your party is gimped because of a few bugs.

How big is the pre-load?
6gb from what ive read. How big is the pre-load?
@DennisFarrell: "Oh, big dungeon? This will probably take an hour or two to clear." - Me in Pillars of Eternity, five hours and twelve in-game books ago
Around 6gb, but it will unpack to 14gb.
There was a huge patch a week ago?! Haven't seen one since mid-February, which was focused on bugs. Was the huge patch a week ago not it?
When will the reviews roll in?
Today?

Intelligence is very useful for rogues if you use a lot of active abilities, as it improves the durations of effects like Hobbled or Blinded. Perception and Resolve, however, are the closest things there are to dump stats. The other things Rogues need in abundance are Might and to a lesser extent Dexterity. As usual for RPGs, I'm going to try and maximize my dialogue options, which means high Intelligence, Perception, and Resolve.
My question is: can I make a somewhat viable Rogue with an emphasis on those stats? Or at least two of those stats? I can handle not being optimized; I just don't want to be ridiculously underpowered.

Just a correction: Perception no longer affects Accuracy (no Attributes do, only starting class, talents and equipment), so your Rogue will not be any more accurate. The Rogue also doesn't have any AoE abilities that I can remember, so that aspect of Intelligence is wasted. With those stats you'll have a rogue that is highly accurate, with spells that have a wide range and long duration. So you can spec to just have a rogue that focuses on debilitating effects that weaken mobs while the rest of your crew takes advantage of such.
I think review embargo is up on 26th, that's why we are just seeing first looks
To be fair while DEX doesn't give you a lot of dialogue options, it will give you a lot of scenario options which can end up avoiding disaster. Don't dismiss physical attributes, they will also open up many options. I remember there was this high MIG line you could say. (I think MIG is used for intimidation lines as well.)As usual for RPGs, I'm going to try and maximize my dialogue options, which means high Intelligence, Perception, and Resolve.
