Is anyone else unable to see specters? They won't load for me in Central Yarnham or at the start in the clinic. The only time they worked was in the Hunters' Dream. Everywhere else I hit the "view" button and the Messengers and gravestone sink down into the ground but no model loads in.

First boss still alive..


I can beat o&s, 4 kings and artorias at level 1 but I can't beat the first boss of Bloodborne.

Hug his legs from behind and chip away. Don't bother with parry, etc.

Yes I figured that out after the first try. I'll get it eventually but Im guessing not today.

I know the series

Molotov the shit out of him / stay on his ass / use the gun and go for gunshot parries. I....didn't get a single parry when I killed him, but I know when I watched Yoshi kill him it seemed like half his damage was from parry / visceral attacks.

That being said, somehow when I killed him, one of my molotovs staggered him and allowed a visceral attack.

I took a peak at weapons, had to know what I wanted to aim for. One of the things I was glad DSII addressed... didn't have to blindly build for items you didn't know even existed yet.

I'm glad I did cause the weapon sounds like it's exactly like my favorite weapon from Demon Souls

Reasons why you were disappointed?

BB is a much faster paced game with no really option to sword & board everything. Everything hits way harder as well.

Ludwigs eventually gets B in both str and skill. So once you hit soft str caps I assume pumping skill at this point should increase damage more.

It didn't damage the experience for me if it does help performance. And unless you are a natural at this game, you're not going to get to the point where you could use online items prior to the update downloading anyway. Then you can just restart and you're good to go!

Any information yet on the level restrictions for summoning aka the algorithm?

It's been a while but IIRC in Dark Souls it was

Soul level +/- 10 +/- (Soul Level/10)

So if you were lvl 25 it would be

25 +/- 10 +/- (2.5)

= you could summon either 12 levels below you or up to 12 levels ahead of you



But then I remember soul memory in DKs2 fucked everything up

Depends on what you were disappointed about. The world is similar to Dark Souls 2, but without warping between bonfires, instead you have to go through two loading screens first.

If you enjoyed those two, you will love this.

Dark Souls 1 is was my first souls game and it is probably my favorite game of all time. DS2 was very hit or miss to me and I felt Demon's was more proof of concept.

If BB captures the same magic of Dark Souls 1 I will have the very expensive prospect of buying a ps4 for this game alone on my mind.

gripes with dark souls 2 are mainly about the world design (meaning how disconnected each area felt from the other). the frequent bonfires and the warping from the start killed the adventure for me.

the other thing was I found the boss to be way less creative. I hated the retread bosses from the first dark souls and the "here fight multiple bosses at once thing" became really tiresome.

This game is pretty fucking great, no lie.

Level design is what you'd expect from a Miyazaki game.

Depends on the weapon you wanna use.

Ludwig’s Holy Blade, which is a longsword/greatsword, and the Hunter’s Axe at the moment. I like large bladed weapons; the Zweihander and Bastard Sword was my jam in Dark Souls 1/2.

DS1 is my favorite as well, and this feels much closer to DS1 than any of the other games.
