Alright but don't skill, str etc. influence how much damage you do? So if I simply ignore them wouldn't that hurt me later on?

Also should I focus more on endurance or on vitality? Or are they equally important? Thusfar the vitality gains seem to be very little, seeing how hard some enemies hit I'm not sure if I'm not better off prioritizing endurance.

The trouble is those stats only increase damage if the weapon has good scaling for it. So you could potentially put a ton of stuff into STR then find a weapon you like better that doesn't use STR. Both Vit and End are safe to level until you find the weapon that you wanna make your main.

bump

I have a few questions...

Is there a level restriction when playing co-op with other players?

Are twin blood shards easy to find later on?

Are the bosses from the main campaign re-used in chalice dungeons?

How do I invite my friends to my chalice dungeons?

So...I'm not sure if this is a spoiler or not, not a place/boss or anything but what might be a new game mechanic -
I died, and when I went back to where I died, the enemy that killed me looked a little different, its eyes were glowing. And when I killed it, I got my blood echoes back instead of having to go to a bloodstain. Do enemies sometimes absorb your blood echoes now?
If so, holy shit.

End is the thing i give priority to since it'll give you more movement( as in dodges, running etc). The reason i say ignore skill, str for now is because upgrading weapons tend to have a more overall effect on damage in the souls games. Sure you'll level skill, str but for now keep it at the minimum needed to wield a weapon you want to use until you know what you're comfortable with.

I'm having loads of problems with father G and I'm pretty much out of potions and bullets. Any tips for quick farming?

yeah I know I said earlier I found this game easy... I will eat crow for this.

From the Central Yharnam lamp go into the house that leads to the Cleric Beast and kill everyone. The dude in the chair always drops bullets and the others sometimes drop vials. Go up the bridge, kill the big guy and the wolves (if you're up to it) and you should get 6-8 vials. Go back through the house and kill the fatties outside and you should get 4 more. Go down the elevator and take out everyone leading up to Father G. You should be close to or at max vials now. Either go to the boss or jump off the ledge to kill yourself. You'll spawn back at Central Yharnam and can do the run again, and if you get your Blood Echoes back you can buy a bunch more vials or level up.

You got it. Awesome way to introduce that mechanic too. sometimes it will be on the ground (too hard to see compared to the other games imo), but any nearby enemy can take it. Not just the one who killed you

Okay...so for those asking who to send NPC's to

I just killed Shadows of Yahmern or w.e and went to Cathedral, talked to the dude there and said the old lady and girl are dead. Kind of annoyed. I sent the Crow hunter to Iosefka, and the bandage guy is alive outside the ward.

Maybe this is what Evil Lore is referring to

There are certainly limits placed that force you to main the weapons available.

You cant really build an All Gunner or All Molotov thrower (even though they both benefit from stat investments) because ammo limits

- 20 Shells max but drops are frequent in Yharnam
- 10 Max molotovs

You are basically meant to specialize in one of the several trick weapons and augment your play with the various tools and items

Maybe this game is more like Castlevania than souls lol

Me and a few others have been saying this is the true successor to the Castlevania series :D

Yes they can pick them up while walking by. Awesome little design change there.

It seems to happen every so often. Other times your bloodstain is on the ground. I'm just happy it hasn't happened to me during a boss fight. Shit would really get real.

Question about the girl who gives you
the music box.
What happens if I
give her the brooch? Can I do something else with it?

Also where should I send people who ask for a
safe place?

The crows in this game are the creepiest enemy type. I mean good lord, they are terrifying. The jump up to attack and then scream with a bark-like sound.

Well I just shot him twice in a row as soon as I climbed up there because I was pissed. Then he fell and I was like... that's it?

What firearm did you use? Was using the hunter blunderbuss myself, which I think is the one that's optimal for parrying and quick shooting compared to the hunter pistol.
I use the Hunter Pistol. Damage is way higher. I now hit of about 140 with my pistol on my lvl 40 character.

Umm
ludwigs holy sword
is so good! I have it at 294 dmg and it stun locks. Game has gotten so easy now with it. lol almost bummed out.

Mine’s at 248 in the stats screen (but doesn’t seem to hit for that, unfortunately). +5. What are your stats?

edit: And yes I love the stunlocks so much.

Holy shit the cleric boss is the first boss and already feels a step above even the more difficult souls bosses.

Just beat him on my 3rd or 4rth try but man that was intense as hell. Not sure how I feel about the massively increased bosses, though I suppose its better than DS2's bullshit "just add more" bosses (looking at you sentinels).

This is what I don't understand - my Saw Cleaver is at 227,
Ludwigs
at 260, but per hit I'm getting more damage from my Cleaver, enough to where I 2 shot instead of 3 shot a mob.

Is
Ludwigs
really better than the cleaver? Both are at +6

Alright thanks guys, endurance and vitality it is for the time being. As a last question for now, since the blood echoes requirement will keep going up, when will I roughly stop focusing on vit and end? Somewhere at 30-40 I assume?

If you're still having trouble during the second phase, try
waiting on the little roof you can drop down to from upstairs. When he drops down, whack him a few times and run for the hills, repeat.

I beat Father G with this strategy and a little luck.
The last sliver of health, down to 2 blood vials and he got stuck, I couldn't lock on because he was so far, hail mary throw and it just hit him, commence celebratory yelling.

I'm over here getting constantly murdered by the first boss, and I'm reading some people one or two shotting him, wtf. And these load times... Christ on a stick.

Guys do you know of any weakness or strategy I should use for boss no 3? It's a tough one....
Also, am I wrong or since the
cathedral
there are waaaay less life potions?

I also found Ludwig disappointing. You get more hits, but less dmg per hit. I don't see that as value
