It works though! I've helped out a lot of people before. It may not work every time, and it's variable, but that might be unavoidable. At the very least you shouldn't use an insight until after the person shows up.

For sure. It's pretty silly that it takes the insight immediately to me. Though I guess it's not really worse than dark souls. So many humanity wasted getting invaded and killed when trying to summon for help on O&S.

I just lost 90,000 echoes. Fucking woods.

Lost 130k echoes tonight between screwing up and getting killed running back to the forest boss, and when exploring N
ightmare Frontier
a bit. Sucks, but at least it's getting a lot faster to collect them now.

I just beat the Blood Starved Beast on the first try. I've come so far from being mercilessly killed over and over by the two wolves in the first section.....that felt amazing!!

Progressing through the chalice dungeon is the thing to do, there is always something special and unique to encounter including the absolute last thing you would have expected. Go through them

if you do new game plus do you still have access to the chalice stuff or do you have to re-unlock?

beat the nightmare frontier boss finally, and of course I get nothing good. I did get a chalice, which is used to do chalice dungeons to fight your way towards absolutely no loot or gear or anything fun or useful.

So are there any builds you can do outside of what is expected?

Also what is the deal with guns? I use them for parry really well, but why bother forging them or buying anything other than the starting pistol or shotgun? What uses do they have other than a stun for a frontstab?

Got his bitch ass. All the dummy had to do was brush up against the bonfire once to take damage, so I switch my game up to keep him hovering near it, and he became his own worst enemy at that point. Whole lot of give and take in that fight, so I can't imagine how the PvP feels.

Goodnight!

is it a hard fight. I have been holding off.

I found it easier than the Cleric Beast because it's more about stunning with the gun and doing visceral attacks. If you're good with that bring a good amount of bullets and you should be alright.

Oh and make sure you have a lot of antidotes

I don't know, I got some pretty baller blood gems from a chalice dungeon yesterday.

OH GOD WHAT DID I JUST DO

Mid-late gameish NPC spoiler:
I found a path to the starting clinic and saw a weird alien thing that was an enemy in the forest and killed it, but it has Iosefka's Blood Vial. Was that actually an NPC?

Man. What a delicate balance.

You slow play an area for awhile, farm, die, farm, die, then realize you have to go HAM and hope for some kind of break.

Then BOOM. You're dead again. Or you found that sweet shortcut and sigh in relief.

This game is sickly sweet.

Hooked in. Well done FROM.

well, yeah, but you know what I mean. I have done several chalice bosses, and they can be pretty grueling, and you want to think maybe you get a cool piece of attire or maybe even a weapon sometimes, but you never do.

YES, FINALLY YOU FUCKER. The goddamn Cleric Beast is toast. Second try too. Holy shit what an intense fight...

This is my first "Souls" experience so I haven't encountered anything like this before. The absolutely epic music kicked in, I was in all out beast mode. Masterful dodging, molotovs flying everywhere, blood vials being downed like cold shots.

My body was literally tensed up during the fight. I honestly can say I understand Souls fans now. This is something special.

I beat VA and BSB and HW, and Father G is still the hardest boss by far.

No it aggros you anyways. Just takes it a while to realize you're there.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it!

You still have access to them. And from what I can tell they don't seem to scale with NG+. I left the chalice dungeons till my NG+ and so far they are very easy since I'm over leveled.

Welcome.

For real, downing the 4th boss on my second try was intense. My heart was beating out of my chest and I loved every second of it.

The souls tradition continues. It's the snakes isn't it?

Yeah fuck the snakes and their stunlocking. Although I just used a +2 Tonitrus and electricity seems to really fuck their day up. So I think I'll focus on upgrading that and returning. That area just has waaaay to many enemies.

Did you fist bump and swear after you beat him?

I got to the Cathedral but I have no idea where Old Yahrnam is and I'm pretty sure I've scoured every inch of Central Yahr. Can anyone give me a hint?

Fucking hell I've been fighting Father G for almost 2.5 hours now. This is insanity. I've never hated a boss in this series so much.

I've beat him with the following strategies:

  • Parry him by shooting your gun just as he's winding up an attack. The timing for getting this right is not as hard as you might think. Keep your distance from him so that he doesn't hit you even if you mis-time it. After a bit you should be able to consistently stun him for a lot of free damage.
  • For the first two "phases" of this fight, move around so that there's tombstones/trees between you and him. There's several chunks of tombstones he can't destroy and you usually can hit him across them
  • Also during the first two "phases" he'll spam his stupid shotgun with unlimited bullets memorize his "I'MMA SHOOT YOU!" wind up animation and be ready to dodge sideways at all times. The further distance you are from him the better chance you have at dodging his shots.
  • If you have the Music Box, equip it in your Quick Items along with oil urns and molotov cocktails (in that order). As soon as Father G transforms into Beast G, use the Music Box (your character will slow down to walking speed for a couple of seconds so make sure you have bit of room between you and him) and he'll get stunned for several seconds. Then change to the oil urn and throw one at him, then change again to molotovs and spam them while keeping your distance from him. You won't kill him before he breaks out of the stuns but by keeping your distance and timing your molotov throws right you can kill him VERY easily.

Welcome to the club. Downing a Souls boss for the first time is a damn good feeling.

Something seems really off about co-op in this game. In other games there's always hundreds of signs outside the door, in this game I've been waiting outside amelia's door for 20 minutes and nothing

Amazon never emailed me my bonus code so i sent them an email this morning and they replaied back just now with my code. glad to have the messenger top hat. i was mistaken, it's not gear you wear but cosmetic item for the messenger guys.

The specters still weren't working properly the last time I played. I think there may be some launch network issues.

I actually found a different version of the top hat in the game. The DLC one is the "Worn Top Hat." I found the normal version of it. It just has less wrinkles.

Is it just me or do all the armours/clothes in this game have terrible stats? I'm yet to swap out the set I bought from the vendor in the Hunter's Dream and I just beat the 4th boss
Vicar Amelia
. I've acquired new sets, and bought a couple too in hopes that something better shows up, but they all just have tradeoffs (worse physical defence and frenzy resistance but better blood defence is not tempting). Also sucks that you can't compare stats before purchasing items :/
