Every weapon is transformable in some way
Sorry, I know this but I am unsure as to the total number of weapons. I was looking for a way to differentiate the guns from the... well, weapons, I guess? I'm not sure of the terminology to use but I guess it's: 'how many weapons are there not counting guns?'

Father G
is giving me a little headache. After work I will have to farm some vials and bullets and probably kill it with molotovs when he is on beast mode.

All these spoiler tags...

I've been crazy busy this week and finally had a chance to sink my teeth into the game. All I can say is after the adjustment from my turtle play style in the other souls games I'm greatly enjoying Bloodborne. Probably my favorite in the series so far from what I've played.

Got to the
fourth boss(?), the nun chick in the chapel and I feel like I've hit a wall. So many options of places I can go but I feel like I can't make any progress :(
. I don't know if I suck at this game or I haven't found a groove yet but I'm not able to make any progress and it feels shitty.

Even the chalice dungeons are fucking brutal

This is frustrating me too. I feel like I'm always running out of consumables and don't want to retread to farm vials and bullets

Are you talking about Demon's Souls? Because Dark Souls has a very similar Metroidvania-ish open world structure. The run up to the first boss in BB almost felt like a grittier reimagining of the first main area in DkS to me. And yeah, I vastly prefer that structure to the individual levels in DeS (as good as that game is).

Yeah, sorry I should've been more specific. :) can't wait to get home tonight and play 'online'.

I just love the feeling of 'you get out of it what you put in'. Really rewarding.

Online finally worked out for me this morning! do we know if the rewards for chalice SP and MP are the same?

In Cainhurst at the boss. Decided to teleport out and run back because I had 70k souls. Everyone says he is really hard, so I didn't want to risk it.

Any suggestions for where to go after the 3rd boss,
BSB?
I just picked up the cathedral key but not sure 1-where that takes me or 2-where it even is. :D

Extremely productive bloodborne night.

4th, 5th boss spoilers

After trying vicar twice, I said fuck it. Went exploring, found myself in the henwick. Clearned the whole thing and boss without dying. Went back and leveled up a shit load. Went back to the vicar and kicked her ass in one go. After that found out I could open up the password door (figured that's what locket would do). Backed tracked to another area, talked to some guys, got a stone and think I followed the stone's instructions cause I found myself somewhere I shouldn't be yet.

Also about the 4th boss
Her screams are absolutely one of the most pitiful and sad things I've ever heard in a game. Having this huge monster scream at the top of her lungs but not in anger, but in grief... :(

How was the dungeon-map overall? I have yet to play it (stream told me it was REALLY hard but now I've gained a few levels from that time).

I've heard around 14ish. I don't count guns (but maybe the 14ish number does? Hmm)

Let's see:

Cane whip
hunter axe
saw blade
saw spear
stake driver
gun spear whatever its called
the OP skill sword
the greatsword
kirkhammer
katana

That's 10 off the top of my head.

Well you can either buy the key from the vendor in the hub, that'll open up a gate outside the cathedral ward. Costs 10k souls

OR

You can take the elevator in the ward, go around to the right of that tower, do a ton of scary drops, and find a back entrance to open up that door and save yourself 10k

What do you guys think BB does better than the souls games? Or demon's and dark 1.
Dark 2 sucks, we all know that. :D

Speed, atmosphere, environmental design, enemy design, boss design, the actual boss fights themselves.

OST is just as good, though I haven't heard it all yet.

Also, think I'm noticing that even though there isn't a ton of weapons, each one feels so much different from each other and each have their own layers of depth that puts DS2 power stance to shame. I don't think there's a single legit bad weapon in this game.

Wait, so I DON'T have to buy this key? I just killed the Gatling gun dude and I've killed the Blood Starved Beast, but I don't know what to do next.

I personaly am way more into it than DS, and I really liked DS. I just like this game's atmosphere and combat more. I never find myself ingrossed by knights and dragons shit.

Vicar Amelia worked me 3 times in a row....I dunno....think I'm gonnna have to farm blood vials to beat it. That thing is hard

Welp finished the game... I thought it would be harder, but Bloodborne seems easy.
Didn't Demon's Souls use to have bosses that would one shot AoE?

Also, I hate frickin' missable. If I knew the boss
Darkbeast Paarl
was missable, I would have done it right away.

From where I am, you have to buy the key. Its not too hard to farm 10k BE. Just go kill the werewolves or go farm for blood vials and you'll hit it in no time.

OHKO attacks are always just artificial difficulty multipliers imo.

Man what is the strategy to this guy.
At the end he is just an endless spew of poison it seems. Before that I have to dodge 90% of the time cuz his Attacks move him so close to me

What worked for me was riposte him through first and second form when he goes for the one armed sweep or the slam and make sure to get the r1 hit in and Dodge his grab. Then the third form just Dodge behind him when he's attacking and when he goes on his crazy combo hits hopefully your close enough to his ass and can get some hits in his back but leave enough stamina so you can roll away. I also used a fire blade item to make my saw blade more powerful at the last part. Make sure you have antidote and blood vials!

If youre talking about the key to get in to the grand cathedral you don't have to buy it, if you goto cathedral ward lamp, door on the right should be open since you killed BSB take elevator up go out towards enemies and instead of going through the door go right fall down small ledge and look for path traversing down, reach bottom and BAM! no key needed!

Is this how the Bold Hunter's Mark works. You're anywhere in the game, you have tons of echoes and you want to cash them in. You use the item and you will spawn at the last lamp you used without losing your echoes. ?

"Bloodborne seems easy" get the fuck out of here with that. Even if you didn't have a problem with it you can't call it easy by any stretch of the imagination. What do you call actual easy games then?

You can cheese him super easy, you don't even have to attack.
Just engage him and start backing up. At some point he'll damage himself and it will keep ticking off his health. If you go stand behind the doors at the entrance of the church he'll reset and walk back to his starting position, but his health will still keep ticking off until he's dead. If you stay engaged with him he'll heal himself and his health will stop draining so be sure you get outside of the church before he does that. I just "beat" him doing this and I didn't take a single swing at him, it's pretty broken.

Huh, I can't seem to get that to work.
I'm not seeing him damage himself at all.

Anybody else have their blood vials disappear from storage? Me and my friend both lost all of our stored vials today somehow. Not a cool glitch.

Now I'm interested. I'll be taking that path the person just mentioned a few posts ago. I wondered what that door/elevator was.

I pmd you a vid I found that shows a secret area and if you go all the way down (not shown in Vid that how you get in without the key, hence find more stuff.

OK just took out eileen, and now have her awesome raven mask available to buy. Time for bed. Productive hunting night lol. Two bosses down, first coop helping someone beat father g, and farmed for lots of levels and weapons.

I love this game. First souls experience and wow.

Yes people have said there's a storage glitch and when it hits you it's bad since it will continually fuck with your storage items it sounds like.

Well I bought the key to
tomb of oeden and am looking for the door. I'm assuming it's up the elevator to the right of the lamp in cathedral ward.

Are you sure you didn't use them? Storage items automatically appear in your inventory after dying.

Appreciate it. Done for the night since I got work tomorrow, but I'll check out the video before I sleep. Thanks.

Oh sweet thank you! I would've never known that on my own...

I didn't find the map hard at all. The hardest part is getting in the castle. Don't mess with the spider women. Just run. The rest is easy, I died once because I didn't understand a mechanic.
