1) Why haven't I been invaded ONCE this entire game? 30 hours, not once.
2) Why can't I invade anyone?
3) Why is it that the Sinister Bell is always "searching for another Sinister Bell" - i.e. a duel.
4) Why is it that when I enter someone else's world, they are always right at the waypoint waiting for me?

I know you can mutually agree to a duel, but I don't think you can invade.
It's not a duel because it's not looking for a player's Sinister Bell, but a Bell Maiden's a.k.a. you can invade people that are playing a map with a Bell Maiden in it

Just killed
Vicar Ameli
e. Why do i feel like a villain? the area is obviously gone to hell since then, and the old lady at the cathedral has lost her shit.

Question about the Upper cathedral
I went through it and killed the Celestial Emissary. Is there anything else to do there ? I remember reading someone here mentioning another boss name in this area too

There's spots where the lady is ringing the bell and it's fair game to invade anyone.
Outside of Chalice Dungeons, I have never seen or heard a Bell Maiden. How do I make them appear?

1) You can only be invaded while you are ringing the coop bell.
2) You can only invade while they are ringing the coop bell, you might be overleveled, etc.
3) The bell its searching for is the bell of a woman that spawns on the host's side. If they kill the woman, the bell will stop and they won't be invaded. It will also find other people's Sinister's Bells for duels.
4) I normally run back to the Lantern when I'm invaded. Safe!
What makes a Bell Maiden appear?

I do love that the sound effect for her bell is from Demon's Souls.

It's time guys... Amelia... NG+...

The people who watched the stream know why I feel like crying right now...

wish me luck...

So, I decided to run through Central Yarnam again and chat with NPCs. One gave me a
Flamesprayer.
Anyone else playing with it? Seems situational, but damn cool.

Any tips with it? :) I always liked spears haha.

Hit things in the face? ;p

It works a lot like the saw cleaver except it has the charge up poke attack, which I've always liked in Souls games.

L1 in a combo flicks it out into a nice wide swing if you get pressed by a lot of mobs.

Forward + R2 in long mode is a super easy down slash with a lot of range to "test" enemies. If I don't know what they're going to do, its always forward + R2 then dodge back out to see their reaction.

Oh, okay. I
didn't chase after him because that would place me in the line of fire.

So entering the building is the wrong way to go to find the ladder?

Thanks for your help.

yea, it's on the outside of the bulding. good luck once you get up there. ;)

Holy crap, what are you doing in those 20 hours?

I must be around the same hours, after killing third boss (
BSB
) I just started to go back to every place I visited to spare some time and try to find things, and I know I've missed a lot of things that I've read here. I'm level 22 which I think is low considering I've spent +20hs.

Henwick is one of those areas where you really have to appreciate the level design. It does a great job of repeating back on itself while still feeling like you're progressing. That stable was terrifying too, and the lake was oddly calming even though it was directly after one of the most stressful fights
(dog rush)
.

Also, are there any substantial ties to Demon's Souls in this game? Outside of reused voice actors and one character that's basically just a FROM signature at this point?

I loved that area. Major RE4 vibes with the environment and the enemy types.

Can anyone please explain how getting poisoned works?

Sometimes I see the poison bar over my head for a few seconds and then it disappears now sure what that means exactly...

It means you got hit by poison. Once the bar fills up all the way you will start losing health until you use a antidote or the bar disappears. When you first get hit, the bar shows it slowly declining, that means you have been struck but it is dissipating. If you keep getting hit with poison, then the bar fills all the way up and that is bad. That is when you health will start to drop

Thanks I will definitely try those. I like the extra range I get with the spear.

NG+ Amelia down, first try. 2 Blood Vials used.

Wow... around 160k souls.

I was in old Y, decided to explore - even though the enemies are freaking hard after the second gate. Got the
shortcut around them
and ended up in a f
orest
. I was doing pretty great, decided to avoid the boss, ended up being s
hot by for guys
at the same time ><
One of them was
shooting me with an exploding fire granade launcher
=O
All that after having my insight sucked out of me, along with my dignity.

Lost 20k, my shit, and am trying to see if anyone wants to coop the central y area, but it can't connect at all to anyone..

Geez that's a lot of souls. What level are you now Yoshi?
91, with 560k souls in the bag. Don't want to go back to town for the loading time :p gonna continue until I reach 1mil echoes.

Defeated Father Gascoine on my third attempt!

First time I accidently ran into him and I wasn't quite prepared. Second time was more figuring out his attack patterns. Third time
I beat him easily while only getting hit a couple of times. I've almost mastered riposting with the blunderbuss and I feel like that is imperative to defeating him. During his second form I played the music box, got a few good hits on him, he lunged at me once more and I riposted and executed him. I found him a bit easier than the Cleric Beast which I defeated on my second attempt.

Probably a silly place to ask but how is the game? It has grabbed my attention and interest and I would like to check it out but I did not like Dark Souls gameplay/combat. I found it very dull, lackluster and janky. Is Bloodborne any different or is it basically Demon's Souls 4 like I think it is?

I did invade without the victim being in coop. It took a while though. And I never got invaded.
I hope they fix the multiplayer issues. I want to level up as a vileblood so bad.

Very polished compared to Dark Souls' crappy gameplay.

Not feeling this at all, mainly as I'm terrible at it. Cleric Beast is kicking my arse, barely do any damage to it

It might not be for you. The game (all souls games) require you to learn the moveset and whatnot. Call of Duty, it is not. There is zero handholding. In fact, From will typically troll you and make things work against you where in a different game it would help you.

feels good, eh?

I was in the same boat. Got super frustrated on him. I would suggest watching a few YouTube videos. The easiest way for me to beat him was to shoot him twice in the head so he collapses and then to R1 his head. Wait a little while for his head to "recharge" (you will know because it will have a red effect around it) and then shoot him twice more in the head for another strong R1 attack. The game got a lot more fun for me after beating him.

What's your weapon of choice?

Saw Spear +10
Vanilla pistol +7

It's all about the runes! They're insane, adding over 25% extra damage on my weapons.
