Interesting to see all the complaints about blood vial stock.
Was grass a similar issue in Demon's Souls? I don't remember having to farm for it very often and I haven't had to farm for vials in Bloodborne yet (admittedly I'm only at boss 4)
This is very good advice. I typically spend 2-3 attempts on a boss using no items at all, just learning its movement, attacks, and patterns. Then I do a few attempts where I consciously use minimal items. That gives me 4-5 attempts without having to worry about stock. Then once I have a good idea what I'm doing I go in a bit more, but I've rarely used more than half my vials for one fight.
I feel like we need this in the OP:
You do not need consumables for the fight. You do not need to heal 20 times to beat these bosses. If you are going through 20 potions, that just shows you that you have no idea what you are doing and are approaching the fight poorly. When you learn how to handle BSB, you do not need antidotes.
Sure, no one is perfect, and we all get hit. But this continual notion I see that people go and farm 20 vials before every single boss attempt is revolting. When you understand the fight, which is the point of how this game's combat works, you will need little to no healing to make it through the fight.
Don't blame the game for your failure.
Damn are the FWorbiddenenormous. I finally unlocked the shortcut. I'll be going back to check out the things I missed later.oods
How the FUCK do you beat the 2nd boss with the cane?
There was a 99 carry limit and multiple sizes of grasses.
5 bosses down, need some help here.Got CB/FG/BCB/VA/Witch down
I've taken a left out of Vicar's cathedral gone down, killed the two hunters and followed that path down past the two big dudes into a massive circular room, when I walk to the door opposite I get picked up by some magically shit, throw 100% into the air and some ghost thing crushes me. I'm guessing I shouldn't be there yet so where do I go?
I do have in that second tombstone place (where the guy with the bag takes you)that massive electric monster but I don't think I'm supposed to face that yet, seems ridiculously hard and I've explored the other side of that place with the pigs
Also lol @ that witch fight even being a boss, was like a slightly harder pinwheel
If he hits me ONCE I'm fucked though, and his wolf form takes like 20 hits.Father G? Parry and riposte, followed by some molotovs son.
The shortcut? If you have only found one then you are not even halfway through it. That place is massive.
I know people have been defending it but I REALLY hate having to farm items. Blood vials and antidotes especially.
I'm on a boss that poisonsand I'm out of blood vials and antidotes. Fuck that. I just want to fight the boss, not spend an hour farming shit every few attempts.blood starved beast
What level are you? I've gotten to the point where shit is too hard in them.

I need to make a Youtube video of my farming run. Max vials and around 4,000 Echoes in about 5-10 minutes. Here's what you do:
Central Yharnam lamp. Go down the gate to the left and into the house. Kill everyone inside. The guy in the chair always drops bullets and the other sometime drop vials. Now go to the bridge and kill the ogre and wolves. The wolves almost always drop 3 vials each and the ogre drops 2. Now go back through the house and kill the two ogres walking alongside it, should give you 4 more vials. Now go down the elevator that leads to the bridge with the burning boulder. Go across the bridge, picking up all drops from the scorched bridge enemies, and kill the ogre. He should drop two vials. Go up the stairs to the left and kill the two beast-men in the corner. They usually drop 3 vials each. Go back down the stairs and take a leap off of the ladder to kill yourself. Now you're back at Central Yharnam with max or close to max vials. Do the run again to pad your storage and pick up the echoes at the end. Go to the lamp in the Chapel to warp to Hunter's Dream and buy more vials, antidotes, or molotovs.
You must be chugging them during the dungeon portions, then. I am a vial-drinking addict and have 20 right now. I've never once farmed for vials. Currently on boss 7.It's tied to EVERYTHING in the game. I've been helping people with bosses which drain your amount for no net gain. Same with the PvP setup.
It's just shit compared to the past games and not well balanced at all. I'm at most using 5 or so on these bosses and haven't had to retry a boss for the last 6 or so I've fought yet ran low again.
In the graveyard with two giants in the Cathedral ward there is a door, you have the password after the cutscene for Amelia
I peeked on over at the subreddit for this game...
So many people are saying they need to allow resting/warping from headstones/refill your vials when you go to a lamp
I gotta disagree. The current system is designed to discourage heavy farming. It is the game's way of telling you that having 20 vials for a boss fight is a handicap, not a necessity. It's the game telling you to use the rally system to get your health back. It's telling you that if you just blew through 20 vials on a boss, maybe try a different tactic or go somewhere else instead of bashing your head on a wall for hours. Also, not being able to rest makes bold hunter's mark more valuable when you are actually farming. Warping from lanterns would trivialize the brilliant shortcuts in the game. I find myself actually using them after they are unlocked. It's all a natural evolution of the Demon's Souls system, without letting you hold 100 healing items to abuse.
I definitely did get a little burnt out on farming vials in Central Y, but it gets better. Honestly some of the time I spent farming I should have attempted the boss I was stuck on without any vials instead.
The second one. That I know of at least haha. The one right by the checkpoint lamp.

Done for tonight. Funny how after many tries F.G. suddenly died very easily. I think I only used one or two vials. Explored the areas that opened up and ended the night onGoing to have to figure out how to beaton top of the clock tower fighting the machine gun knight.him.

I usually just play co-op and help people to farm. You usually face the boss and get to pick up everything it makes it way more fun.

Nope, I'll try that though thanks!Have you tried:saving the music box for after he transforms, use it, run behind him, charge attack, riposte, molotovs if he's still alive after that. Also if you haven't try and upgrades your weapon to at least +2, there should be enough shards lying around central yharnam for that.
Folks just need to learn how to learn how to approach these fights. We should do our best to discourage the "farming" mindset.
This isn't a good post. I don't think anyone's saying you should get 20 blood vials back every time, but there's definitely a problem with farming. If I have no idea what I'm doing against a certain boss and lose all my blood, I shouldn't have to go kill enemies over and over before I can even have the minimal amount necessary to fight them again. Starting with a minimum of five or so (and letting people get more that aren't stored past 20, so you need to start fresh after each one) would not only make it fairer for people starting off again after a big loss, but would also encourage people to not use them that much since you'd rarely have the full amount possible.I feel like we need this in the OP:

I still managed to die here, lol. In the last phase it restrained me and the mobs got to me. Easiest boss so far though. But, every Souls game has a boss like this and I'd say this is the hardest one of those.
Im level 133. I was like level 82 before i started doing only chalice dungeons. The later ones give a shit ton of Blood echoes.
Nah I've got the first one, I've been everywhere I can, there's no fear or anything, nothing drawing me in and I'm pretty patient tooFirst souls game? I recommend playing with headphones, people won't be able to sneak up on you
Resetting the currency is probably one of the most important fundamental aspects of the game. It makes exploring new areas terrifying, and really sells the "face your fears" theme.
I haven't found a single illusory wall yet. Are there any?
