Ok, question about the area immediately after the Forbidden Woods boss fight:
am I supposed to not go there yet? I keep getting my ass beat by the insight sucker and the hunter.

You are, or at least I did. I just eventually ignored all the enemies. It doesn't really go anywhere, it's just the house that you should be caring about. You can run past the hunter easily enough.

Rom
is so annoooying. FUCK. At least the run back is super short.

Any tips?

I
completely ignored the small spiders, I just rolled and dodged that annoying jump attack they do. I tried to stay to the side of Rom and just beat on him as much as I could, use Bolt paper if you have some - it does a lot of damage to him. Also try to hit him as he teleports as he takes more damage.

Just run away when he starts to flip over, however I found dodging the missiles quite inconsistent. Took me about 5 tries to get it down.

Hmm, need someone to let me know if this is a boss room or not. I have 12k blood echoes and don't want to possibly lose them if so.
I'm in the area to the right of the Grand Cathedral where the Vigor Amelia boss is. I fought the two hunter guys (?), then made my way down a path with two big guys with giant axe weapons and some snipers on a cliff-side, and now there's a building with a big empty room in it.

Yeah BB is so much better combat wise than all 3 of the DS games. No more wandering into areas with your shield constantly up like a biatch

But you never had to do that in Dark or Demon's. Hell, me and a few of my friends have never done that in any playthrough of dark or demon's.

The message told me watch for AMBUSH,damn it...and I die from it anyway....long stretch also in Old Yarnham to get back there,sigh...oh well, after supper lol...

Okay, thanks. I'm gonna take a break because I just lost a ton of resources and I'm really furstrated, but I'll try just running through when I go back.

It's time guys... Amelia... NG+...

The people who watched the stream know why I feel like crying right now...

wish me luck...

Heh, I just killed her without any problems on my first try [will upload YT video soon]. Fight was very easy. I did not go your route of evading her moves from
distance, but I just kept close to her and smacked her a lot. Whenever he prepares to hit with one hand, the other hand is clearly open for attack. Few smacks on hand, and she goes into staggered state. When I got hurt [never by a lot], I just moved away to heal and then found an opening to again get close to her. Heck, I even did not give her chance to even think about starting healing.

I really don't think she is as hard as you think she is. You just approached that fight in a wrong way.

New area you can access, but you need an item first.... otherwise bad things happen. Not sure if you have the item already,e ven if you do not sure if you wanna go that way just yet.

I think losing all of your souls, resetting your progress, and forcing you to sit through a minimum of four loading screens (more if you have to respawn the enemies) is a little too punishing for healing too much during a hard boss. I suppose some may disagree, but I think that borders on actual masochism.

I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, but people say the same kind of thing about any of the "difficult" parts of the souls games as justification as to why it should change.

Anyway, try farming a bunch to stockpile before going to new areas so you can wipe a few times without running out if you are having trouble.

Yeah, i backed out and can still join after talking again. Gonna wait a bit until/if i find another one. Are the runes any good ?
The Vileblood rune is incredibly bad. You get +1 health regen when your health is low. I created a bunch of blood bullets to test it out, and it's literally +1 health every other second once you get to ~10% life. It's not even vaguely useful. All of the other covenant runes are vastly superior.

I am hoping that advancing within the Vilebloods will give a better rune, like +2 regen permanently or something. I could be happy with that. That's why I'm hoping someone will trade PvP kills with me to rank up and find out. Right now, it's an unknown.

Except for one guy who has over 300 PvP kills already. H O W?

I'm sort of lost for where to go next.

I beat the Blood-Starved Beast, killed the guy on the turret, I found a path down to the city from the tower outside the Odeon Chapel. Is this the right way to go? Having to fall down this rafters is really dangerous and I'd like to avoid doing it repeatedly.
There are 2-3 bosses you can do from the Chapel. I'd need more description before I understand where you are, though.

ebrietas
is nightmare fuel design wise, my damage output against her is pretty horrible, guessing I should lvl up some more, I'm only lvl 50.

People that are farming vials are doing it wrong, unless you're at the very start of the game it's easy to get 10,000 souls together and buy a load in bulk

Can anyone else not summon/be summoned right now?

I'm stuck at the fourth boss(I think)
Vicar of something or another
. I definitely bought the thing to open the gate and I've wasted 3 insight trying to get somebody to join, and then losing patience/trying to fight by myself. Then I went back to the bridge, and tried to help others for awhile, and I wasn't getting summoned at all. I changed my settings from local to worldwide, and still nothing.

I'm stuck here. Can I skip this boss fight? There are paths to the right and left that lead into a new looking area, but the right seems tough as nails, and the left led me to an area with a ton of dudes that scared me. Any advice all around?

In the area after the gatling
gun hunter i hit something and the beast that hanged got burned.Did that something that i didnt notice?

Finally started this earlier. Put 4 hours in.

Level 19
V: 14
E: 13
Str: 16
Sk: 13
B: 7
A: 6

(Are the above stats good?)

Beat
Cleric Demon
on my second attempt, some other daft deaths here and there due to stupidity but I've yet to permanently lose my Blood Echoes. I've explored what I think is every avenue bar one locked gate up to where I am now as I've been religiously exploring and doubling up on sections to unlock every shortcut I can and my next location is the boss fight against
Father Gascoigne
. Couldn't find any other route to go through at all so I guess this is where I must go.

Questions:

* What are these badges you get?
* I've seen some doors with red lanterns where you speak with folks and a couple of them have tasks or ask questions but I'm not sure what to do next.
* The other
Hunter in the crow gear
- does she (I'm assuming) have anything for you other than those random items she gives you the first time?

Probably things I will see more of when I get further in to the game.

Stats look good, are you going strength or skill. Put points into Vit and End and whichever your weapon favours. If you want a quality build, level up both Strength and Skill.

- The badges are weapons. You can buy them at the Bath Messnger using echoes
- I wouldn't worry too much about these, just go back to them now and again. You can send a couple of female NPCs to
Cathedral Ward
and they will give you items. There are quite a few, so there are probably some I have missed.
- You will get
blades of mercy (skill weapon)
and other gear if you complete the questline or you can kill her and get it now

Little tip because a friend of mine was talking about two handed weapons and didn't realize this. Remember L2 becomes an attack button when you switch to the two handed mode since you don't have your gun in that hand anymore.

I don't believe there's a boss fight there but I wouldnt go in - it's a big circular room with a door on the other side. The door is locked and when u walk up to it you get grabbed by that big purple hand, frenzied, and die.

2 Chalice Dungeons down. Each one is 3 floors. So far, I've only had 4 unique bosses.

Boss of 2nd floor dungeon 1 was the same as boss of the 1st floor in dungeon 2. And the 3rd floor boss was the same in both dungeons.

I hope this is just the procedural/random factor playing because a lack of bosses would kill my desire to do them. I don't mind a repeat every once in awhile.

So far though, I absolutely love chalice dungeons.

I've also done two, and have had 6 unique bosses. I didn't use the root chalice though as I think that is just a remix of the possibilities of that level chalice, while the ones with another prefix (as in "lower" or "central") are new ones. Can't be positive on that though.

With the option to do so gone, content can be properly balanced around their lack, though.

I actually count that as a weakness personally. Especially for pvp since every person is just a weapon's platform character instead of the variety between magic, shields, no shields of Dark and Demon's.

I've just unlocked the Rune Workshop Tool and now I'm debating how I should be upgrading my character. I'm using Ludwig's Holy Blade so assumed I should be upgrading strength, but now there are fire gems, etc should I also be upgrading arcane?

I'm level 40 and my stats are:

Vitality: 27
Endurance: 19
Strength: 18
Skill: 12
Bloodtinge: 7
Arcane: 7

Should I be trying to balance these out or solely focus on specific stats?

I just beat (4th and 5th boss spoilers)
Amelia. I got The Golden Medallion. I already killed the witch. What now?

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
I went to the tomb after father G and the
woman died
=[ that
hunter
is a monster! My blunderbuss was hitting both of them, so it was hard to
help her
effectively.

After that, in less than 5 mnutes, I found two other random ones. I'm so fucking afraid to tackle them, even more so than the two bosses I found (but haven't fought yet).

The one with the
electric
weapon is so fucking relentless and fast.

I'm gonna have a heart attack playing this game.

Summoned somebody for BSB and still lost. Can't get this guy.

Very easy boss once you realise that dodging to the left of every attack gives you a massive advantage. Just be aggressive, get up in it's face and then dodge to it's left every time, same tactic works for every phase. Just make sure you have a good bit of range on your weapon (two hand the axe).

Fuck, I'm slowing down after BSB... trying to figure out where to go "officially". I could go to the Forbidden Woods, but is that the correct way?

Just finished it..

What a fucking masterpiece. But man.. now I feel empty, I don't know what to do next. This game was basically a daily routine for the past 5 days, sleep, eat, play Bloodborne. :(

I haven't decided actually so I'll probably level up both strength and skill.

1. This is useful to know as I was wondering why a bunch of new stuff opened up. Shall I stick with the Saw Blade or opt for something else? I still have no idea how upgrading your weapons work (or if I have that option yet).
2. This explains the one woman I encountered who was referring to a safe place. When can I send her there? When I've unlocked that place?
3. I take it by following her questline I will get more benefits out of it than just merking her right there and then and taking everything?

Thanks!

Yeah, that's true about pvp. I certainly have no interest in it for this game, unlike, say, DkS1. But I think it's a good stab pve-wise at branching off the typical Souls formula while retaining so much of what makes it good.

I'm level 32. I'm not sure if I have the item or not. I've already went the left direction and beat the
Witch of Hemwick
boss. I just decided to revisit this area since I had died to those hunters previously.

Okay, sounds like I want to avoid it for now, then.

Theres a polygon article saying if you do any multiplayer in forbidden woods the game will bug and you will be blocked from progressing. Is this true?

Warning: possible spoilers at link
http://www.polygon.com/2015/3/27/8300825/bloodborne-lunarium-key-bug

Does this mean I can't even summon a helper for the boss?

I did a bunch of multiplayer there and helped people beat the boss and I wasn't affected.

Spoilers for optional area that's near the end of the game:
Just fought the Celestial Emissary. Ayy lmao. That fight was hilariously easy

I beat him by doing the the shotgun counter and when he was at half health I kept beating on him so he couldn't transform, he eventually pushes me away to do it but his health was really low at that point. I threw a Molotov at him and finished him with a few strikes.

Honestly, if you can, pay attention to his health, when he get to half don't stop beating on him. Hell keep trying to shotgun you away but keep at it as much as you can.

Its a cheesy way to beat him but it worked for me.

If you're getting killed really easily you many need to change your gear and do some leveling up.

interesting. he transformed on me, but i just kept running away and hammering him with throwing knives. i cannot understate how great throwing knives are for both the first 2 bosses (cannot speak to the rest)

Well the item is in the area but you need to kill VA first. When you receive it, it'll come with instructions so you should know if you got it.

Yeah hehe, the messages before didn't help. Since i used a bolt paper, and it went down even faster
