Allright, someone please help me urgently.

I'm at the very start of the game, with more then 2k souls, and just reached a bridge where
there has two werewolves
. What should I do? I'm fearing dying to them because I have not found any shortcut until now, is there any that I'm not aware of?

Also I have already came down to the sewers and collect a hunters set.

Edit: Fuck that shit. Got killed by them!

If you did the sewers you probably have one of those Madman's knowledge, you can use these to get insight, anyway if you go back to the area where the hunchback is knocking on the door there is a hidden shortcut behind some crates. You'll know you found it when you can hear/see dogs in cages, I also believe there is a house with a lot of laughter near.

Edit: Guess I'm too late..

Question: Is it really necessary to spend 10000 blood echoes on the Hunter Chief Emblem? What is it actually for and can I do without it? ...I'd rather level up but if I need it to progress or access cool shit I'll get it.

Is 10,000 really that much? I can gather that in one run through
Old Yarnham.

Run straight past them and keep going. Something will happen which will enable you to start levelling up.

I don't know that I like the new summon system.

I couldn't find anyone before
the Blood-Starved Beast
and I doubt just no one was there. I was on Worldwide with no password, obviously.

I'd rather have summon signs back because then I know when something isn't working.

Yeah, it gives no real feedback on what's happening. Signs were way better.

This is the hardest Souls game I've played, up to beating Boss 3 and slightly beyond that is.

Even finding your way through the world is harder.
Until you get comfortable with the mechanics, but then it's pretty smooth sailing. All of them are like that.

I recently popped in Demon's and breezed through 1-1, 1-2, and 4-1 without dying. Would have been impossible when I first bought the game.

Haha, i was invaded by a Vileblood hunter, but thanks to my glitched game, the invader spawn after the elevator and was locked and couldn't move up.

You just needed that confidence booster. New players who have never played a souls games get pretty freaked out when reading the comments and panic. You did great! Now, you are learning the moves and can apply them towards the next boss.

ProTip: Even a seasoned Souls player will panic during a boss fight if things don't go right, lol. I do it every time I get one low on health. I get greedy and go for an extra swing or something and that's all she wrote. I then stand up and scream "What was I doing!?!" and try again.

Thx :D
I definitely went for a extra swing on CL. lucky me it died. haha
Second boss went down on the third try, also with a panic swing.

This game man ... so good!

I didn't mean to say DeS was harder than DS1, I do admit, that IS how I worded it.

In terms of difficulty I'd put it:

4)BB
3)DS2
2)DeS
1)DS1

(1 being the hardest)

also, about to do my first chalice dungeon!
This game isn't easier than DS2, no way

My first death in DS2 was in fucking No Man's Wharf

Have you killed Darkbeast Paarl? From the broken lamp run downstairs then turn around and down again then through that doorway andyou'll find it. There is also another boss in the unseen village but he's way tougher than Paarl. I also hit a wall at that point but youll get through it

Yep, I killed him. The enemies here are just brutal. My first sort of raging at this game is now happening.

So uh, the old man in the Hunter's Dream is gone. Did I mess up?
I don't recall swinging a weapon near him. I'm early on, just beaten the first boss, but he was gone even a bit before that. Normal?

My god I'm getting my ass handed to me by the first boss. It's my first "souls" game and I think I've gotten a handle on taking out the mobs but that guy is just destroying me. I had one great run at it and ended up dying while he had the tiniest bit of health left. I wanted to cry.

Any tips for that Reborn monstrosity? It doesn't seem that hard but it has this drool-like attack that's difficult to avoid.

I think it unlocks some items too at the bath messengers, but after buying that emblem I actually found the hidden path first and opened the gate, just go through the right gate and up the elevator in the cathedral ward, you'll have to take some risk getting down to that area though.

Guys I opened the second shortcut gate to the
witch
before 4 dogs ambushed me and I lost my souls lol. Where should I go from the lamp to reach this? It's Hemwock or w/e it's called

My own thought on difficulty so far is that BB, once you get used to it, is easier on typical enemies because the player character is so fast and powerful + regain is really (intentionally) abusable. It gets hilarious when you start charging bullets whenever you like with health, then whack a nearby enemy to get the health right back.

The bosses though can represent a brick wall because they are really aggressive to compensate for BB's system. No tanking means the player cannot afford to freeze up and block out of blind panic. Combined with the combination attack patterns many bosses have, it means losing control even for a moment will get you wiped in moments at any part of the fight.

If you know what you're doing it feels easy but depending on prior Souls playstyle it can be rough.

The lack of decent shortcuts from bonfire to boss in the Forbidden Forest is whats frustrating me

Did you get both of the shortcuts opened?

Do you use the axe? :P

I did a lot of hit and run. It seemed like as long as I was on the move the attack wouldn't connect, that shockwave was the only scary part. Kinda similar to the spider boss.

God those two wolves on the bridge are infuriating, they just make getting everywhere a pain in the arse as I attempt to avoid them!

If you don't want to fight them head on, run past them and head to the stair way just to the left of them and cheese them through the door. They can't enter, but you can hit them easily by stepping in and out of range.

Learn to parry them and they become a breeze, or do what I suggested in the above quote. You can clean them up in under 1 minute that way.

Just tried to help a guy in the Cathedral Ward - saw my first "there's a maiden somewhere out there ringing a bell" message. Pretty neat, although we went straight for the boss so no invaders showed up.

heres a tip that some of you guys probably know but maybe some dont:

If your frenzy bar is about to fill up and deal a fuck ton of damage to you, try and parry and visceral attack something; you are invincible during it.

their eyesight is pretty bad, you can get fairly close without them noticing you. Once you open up the shortcut (that's just past them) back to the lantern, they're barely more than an afterthought, really.

Yup, giving up on NG+, not finding it appealing. Will either do a SKL/BT or SKL/ARC build next.

I'd use
Burial Blade or Blade of Mercy, Cane/Chikage until I get those.
Anyone else running a similar build able to share some experience with it?

Thinking of this build is actually hyping me up to play again.

Yep. And its still quite the trek through either villagers or snakes.

You can actually sprint past everything, they're too slow to hit you.
I'd let the big pig charge so you can dodge, then keep running. In that last swampy spot go on the right to skip the shit in the water and drop off, then run by that pig since the area is too small for it to chase.

Un
seen village
area is kicking my ass. Pretty much every new part of this game has kicked my ass except for a couple bosses I beat my first shot.

God those two wolves on the bridge are infuriating, they just make getting everywhere a pain in the arse as I attempt to avoid them!

You can cheese them by getting their attention then running to the staris on to the right wich leads to the dark house, then hit 'em thru the door :D

interesting. so you're saying that difficulty-wise, it's DeS, DS, DS2, then BB?

the first few hours of bloodborne were really hard, but it hasn't been that bad since i've gotten the hang of the combat and the basic gameplay loop

I wouldn't Bloodbourne has a different curve. Like Demon's it starts off hard, I'd say Bloodbourne has an even tougher start than Demon's, but gets easier with some spikes. I'd also say that Bloodbourne has the smartest AI of any souls game and highest enemy density, but it has the most forgiving stamina bar, fastest dodge, easiest parry, and easiest heal. It's kinda a wash, though I wouldn't say Bloodbourne is harder overall than any given souls game other than Demon's.

I must've missed something. I can't USE any of the bells. I have enough Insight, but the USE option is grayed out. Any idea? Am I stupid? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
