I was able to get some success by leading them all toward the back left, then sprint to the huge gravestone to the right, the katana dude will follow while the other two will lose line of sight so you can hack at him for a bit. I'd recommend charged R2 attacks if you can get the timing + range down. He's also really susceptible to parrying, but if he hits you, he hits hard as fuck. Once either of them hits around 50% health, I think, the fight gets progressively harder. Katana dude is the biggest pain in the ass if left alive, then the caster, then the flamethrower. I had to do it multiplayer because it was just too much.

In the later areas I kinda just sprinted through them and unlocked shortcuts, before going back and leisurely exploring every nook and cranny, felt less stressful and I didn't really care if I died exploring since I knew I already had the shortcut to the bosses. Prolly not the best approach but it's made the game a lot less potentially frustrating.

Yeah, sometimes a good old suicide scouting run is the way to go, picking up anything you can grab on the way

Are you making sure to equip your main weapon in your right hand and your gun in your left hand?
 
Where si the shortcut unlock in the Forbidden Woods? I just spent about 2 hours wandering around in that motherfucker and stumbled upon the boss and lost 60k souls. I did find 2 shortcuts, but they were pretty minor. What I found was:

In the first village with the guys and the trap door, I unlocked an elevator in one of the houses that lets you skip the guy throwing molotvs from a bridge. Later, after the cannon sequence where you're in a tower right before you encounter snakes, I unlocked an elevator inside that tower.

Then I got to the woods with the snakes and WTF is that shit. I found 2 or 3 huge giat rats, killed at least 10 of those giant snakes that spit poison across the map, found 2 rune stones, a Blood Gem Chunk, killed countless other guys, but never another shortcut. I also found a door down by the water that wouldn't open from this side. Then I ran into the boss and died. I'm assuming somewhere there's something that unlocks the door to the tower right at the lantern you spawn from.

I've met two hunters here so far. One in a little square overlooked by the tower gunner, and the tower gunner himself. I beat the former in a fair fight and shoved the later off of his damn tower :p. The problem is, the square hunter didn't drop a badge for me (like the tower gunner's powder keg badge), and my friend says he was supposed to. Did I miss an emblem or is he wrong? And if he's right, am I locked out of this badge forever?

I assume you HAVE the weapons before attacking it? there should be plenty of time to equip them in hunter's dream.
 
Wait WTF happened :
Arianna is gone and has been replaced by a man who gave me a Tonsil Stone before I could get her back to the Cathedral. What the hell?

Late reply but the problem is poison resist
U were taking two hits without getting poisoned were as I get poisoned in almost one hit

Glad I could help.
Just be sure to open the gate next to the lamp and you are good, it's 'very easy' to reach both bosses via this shortcut and also to get your revenge on the wolves.
 
The atmosphere and world design/art in this game is just on another level. Its really something special to be able to journey somewhere far and look back and see where you started miles and miles away. Nothing comes close.

My bloodtinge is at 20 and my hunter pistol is +5. Level 45.

It's not super powerful, but doing 150 of damage from long range is cool.
 
Second runthrough: Skill and Arcane build.

I predict some suffering early on with this cane against bosses until I get some better weapons...

Did you take that elevator up? It brings you to the gate to open right by the lantern. There's another shortcut near the giant pig where you ride an elevator up to where that first snake head enemy is. That way the run to the boss is just the double elevators near eachother.

Funny thing, I was stuck on him for a while, came back the next day and managed to beat him first try using only like 2-3 antidotes. Make sure you concentrate more on dodging than attacking, stick with fast attacks so you don't get stuck in an animation where you'd need to dodge to avoid its attacks. When he starts going nuts and he gets up close you'll probably need to dodge about 3 times to the left fast to avoid all the hits, and you might only get 1-2 hits in, then immediately roll/dodge away from him. Just keep at it, he's actually not as hard as he seems, I was fucking up by using charged attacks too much.
 
So what is considered end game for BB? Like once I beat the game will I just continue to do dungeons?


ALSO:
Is there a story line where the people in the ward don't get all depressed and look like they are dying? I want to save them :(

Which one? I took both of them, but neither seemed to bring me near the lantern at the start. If y ou tell me which one specifically I'll look more carefully next time. I assume you mean the one in the tower right before snakes, just making sure

Has anyone found any use for the Crown of Illusions aside from meeting Annalise?

Actully, I did, so I just restarted my PS4.
