Really?
I hit harder with the Saw than with the short sword mode, at the same level and same gems. I dont know why then lol
Gems, even when named the same and the same level, have different properties at different % I am seeing. I have 2 of the same gem, one is a 2.9% DMG upgrade and the other a 7.9%. I am unsure of the loot table rolls on these as I have only collected about 15 of varying degrees. Most are the same but there are one-offs that offer better stats at the same level.

Weapons of the same name have different loot tables, also. Some weapons have 3 variants which scale differently with stats. I am assuming gems have the same type of table.

One more optional dungeon and I'm done with NG+

I need to level up more. Old yharnam is way too hard right now. I get to the bit towards the end and there are about 20 guys in one area and all of them kick my ass.

I got a question for you guys and gals. How often do you leave notes? And are they always helpful or do you mix in some evil/misleading ones? Do you like leaving cryptic ones that don't give up too much of what's coming up for players or do you like to leave specific ones like "watch out for ambush"?

HUGE SPOILERS

So it looks like extra dimensional lovecraftian horros are behind the events at yarnham... after you defeat Vicar Amelia if you knock on doors you'll be given a strange green stone. It tells you to go search for a church. As you exit the grand cathedral lamp, go left where the two hunters are/were and follow that path. Go ahead and past two axe guys you'll find the church. Open that door with the green item in your inventory and... boom.

I've beaten 3 bosses (well, 4, counting a chalice dungeon) but I already feel like I've been playing forever. My progress is that slow-going. I don't want this to go on forever. Screw the chalice dungeons.

I put some helpful notes concerning ambushes but most of the time I just like to write funny shit.

My "have mercy, woman" note in front of Iosefka's clinic has been a steady source of HP through this run.

Chalice dungeons are the MOST AWESOME things ever.

okay I can't use my bell. I'm at the Lantern in old y and I have 9 insight but the bell is greyed out. Same if I'm at the amelia boss. And probably everywhere else

I think I made a mistake.

Spoiler around third and fourth boss :
I killed the fourth boss before the third one, and now Alfred, the guy who's supposed to give you fire paper (and thus, give you the ability to buy it from the hunter's dream) is not here anymore. Does that mean I won't ever be able to buy fire paper ?

Most of my highly rated messages are very specific although I do have a highly rated troll message left [Very early game spoilers, before 2nd boss]
saying that there's a hidden path in front of the hole of death behind the sewer pig.
That one actually has a lot more approvals than disapprovals.

You can buy that from the Insight vendor, 1 insight a piece

start shooting your gun right as you finished climbing the ladder and don't stop shooting
press O while climbing to climb faster

anybody here uses stake driver? any thoughts on it?
Stake Driver is nice but the range is short. Its retracted R2 charge is fucking insane and stupidly difficult to let charge to full.

At the same level not counting gems it does less damage than saw cleaver and has a shorter range. R2 charge is some serious shit though. Won't be able to pull it off on enemies without a stun, and in that case your standard crit is worth more as it leaves you invulnerable while doing it over a standard weapon charge.

The area design/layout is different class compared to Dark Souls 2. I'm finding branches to different areas in places where I just wasn't expecting to. Looking back, I feel like Dark Souls 2 was always quite obvious with its intention of moving you on to a different area and played it very conservatively with its design. Its definitely one of my favorite aspects of Bloodborne so far as it gives a great sense of discovery and lends some real authenticity to the exploration.

Whoever was in charge of that aspect of the game, great job!

And generally with the game, I'm really enjoying it at this point. I'm just around the back of the
Cathedral where I've headed after BSB.
Not really sure on where I'm supposed to be headed at this point, but I haven't explored this area yet so it seems like the best bet for now. I didn't like it at
Yasar'gul
so I
lit the lamp and run!

Recognize the voice of the guy who talks to you after that cutscene? :)

I lost from cleric Beast and I got an Insight. I thought I would be able to level up and gather Insights only after killing bosses. :/ I hope this is not some kind of bug.

Also, Whener I press x to see the spectres, most of the times nothign shows up. Is this connection issue or?

Well, that was an easy boss fight. Easiest in a long while. It was the W
itches of Hemwick

I thought the way they handled
having two witches at a time was neat. I thought I wasn't doing damage, only to realise I was attacking another witch.

Not hard at all, but novel.

you get Insight from Chalice dungeon bosses? Lol, getting Insight in this game is not a problem.
anyway Chalice dungeons are great and I only did the first 2, the "standard" ones. at some point I was able to actually shoot a stationary cannon. really GREAT addition to the game.

I'm level 82 and I'd like to do some of them in co-op if anyone's up.

you guys say that the
password door
is in those alleys at the bottom of the
pit in healing church workshop
? I cant find any door :/

I summoned a player who was using the Stake Driver into one of my boss fights. The guy just constantly knocked the boss on its ass with it from behind while I was wailing away at its face and keeping it pissed at me. It was pretty funny.

Needless to say, it died pretty fast and couldn't really fight back.

Geez Yoshi, well what do you plan on doing after this? Also what is your level? Did you just stop it leveling?
Nope! My PvE character will never stop leveling. Currently level 143.

Vit: 50 (cap)
End: 40 (cap)
Str: 40 (50 is cap)
Skill: 50 (cap)

10 more levels and my "build" is done.

It's not. It's after you see a boss you gain insight, more after you beat it.

Tried using it and ended up not liking it. It's charged R2 move in its trick form is strong but the range is too close for comfort for me. Not to mention when you use the move it automatically reverts the weapon back to its base form (blade extended) which ends up throwing me off.

1 insight for finding them, 2 more for killing. You're all good with what you've said!
