The password system is broken. Getting summoned to help out random people with killing bosses works flawlessly for me. Something that couldn't be said about Dark Souls summons.

Having requested help, gone to help, and invading as part of my covenant, I can tell you safely that the online is spotty as fuck at the moment.

Also, the little daughter of Gascoigne never even makes it to the cathedral in the first place.
Nobody wins!

Yeah took me two hours. You need to be really methodical.

1. Take out the gatling arse.
2. Take out the hunter downstairs.
3. Open up short cut gate 1.
4. Open up short cut gate 2.
5. Use shortcut to get to the boss.
6. Summon alfred
7. Use those blood potion lure things and fire paper

Then you can take out the boss.

You really can't go wrong with any choice. I'd suggest Dark because it's most similar in terms of world design. Demon's has individual levels but they're structured very similarly to Dark and Bloodborne. Dark Souls 2 doesn't really have the magical level design or interesting NPCs, but the combat and difficulty is there.
