Bosses don't take your blood echoes, and they do not go away when you log off.

Hmm, well...

i always see them left on the ground even when i log off the game and go back and fight them. you just might be having a hard time seeing them cuz they're hard to see. if you don't see them anywhere, probably disappeared for some reason.

I can easily see them in the area most of the time, no problems. Like if I die once after logging back in the game, I can find my echos right away at the boss because they glow. But...

I lost 15000 echoes at blood starved beat after logging off for the night and playing again in the morning. When I came back they werent waiting for me. Do not know why.

Well yeah basically this. I swear they go away if you log out of the game for an extended period of time or there's a glitch where they don't show up on the ground in boss rooms sometimes. :( I don't know.

Lost 60,000 souls do to enemies killing me whilst I teleported back to the dream. That would have been enough to level 4 or five times..
Stuck in the forest, too many snakes, too many twists and turns.

The cathedral guy in Eileen's quest is like impossible.

I just want the crow outfit. :/

I hear that you can cheese him by running out of the cathedral when he does his Numb by Linkin Park move, he won't know how to return and he won't take it off so his HP keeps going down.

I still dont see the reason i should spare her life lol
'cuz she fine

Call me a noob but I've only just cleared my way past thr bonfire area :3

I've sneaked around the huge thing bashing on the door and am near the fountain. I'm scared to go any further and imt scared to try and kill him. Is there a bonfire/lamp thing near? D:

Go a little further, there should be a
shortcut by the bridge

Cathedral Ward: how did you guys handle the
two hunters
to the right of A
melia's
door?

I wasnt ready when i fought the mace, not sure when you're supposed to go there, but...

Cheap method:
Electro mace, aggro her to the top of the stairs and then go on to the roof. From there I used Ludwig's blade thrust attack to poke her.

Well,
there's an item that you can drop down and get there, take that path, and jump off the left edge. Slowly make your way to the shotgunner's back, hold down R2 to set her up for a back stab and then let er rip. More likely than not, you haven't aggroed lightning mace chick, so just take care of the shotgunner by herself. If you do aggro lightning mace chick, run up the stairs and see if you can't get one of them to back off.

So I've got what I'm assuming to be late game questions, considering the amount of bosses I've killed.

What location is considered Hemwick crossing? I've got summons to Cainhurst which is really the only heading I have left, I feel as though I've gotten to everywhere I can be.

I'm also curious as to where the final umbilical cord location is? I've got one from the Wet Nurse, the woman in the clinic dropped one after I killed her (her personality/demeanor changed so I acted swiftly). Is the last one at Cainhurst or elsewhere?

Looking for a push in the right direction. I feel like going to the Great Tree is the endgame, so I'm holding off on that
It's in a very, very well hidden optional area called Hunter's Dream.

Finished the game now. Didnt do everything there is to do in the game but I think I got all bosses except for one. Final Time was 46 hours. Very pleased with the game and will be playing again with a different build.. actually i might get that started right away. It's not often that you just jump straight back into a game you played for 40+ hours :D

What I did was start with the second one, by the tree. He's not too much of a problem if you keep dodging and countering, but make sure you stay close to the tree so that you don't aggro the one by the fountain. Once he's down, the no-fuss, no-mess way of taking care of the other one is to sneak up behind him, charge attack into a visceral attack, run back up to the top of that area, and drop back down to the area where you fought the second one when he resets back to his position and repeat the process until dead. It's cheesy, but fuck his electric mace-wielding ass.

I activated it but its still a long run just to get to it

Yeah, it seemed like the longest one yet. It probably took me about 2 minutes after perfecting it.
I ran past the first 2 guys, took a right and ran right past the hunchback and dropped down to the path after the dogs, ran forward to the drop into the little village, went right through the house into the door that leads into a small cave, ran right through the next small village with the cannon, ran into the building and down to the elevator, ran past the snake head guy, ran left and past the pig, then the next pig

So I beat
Amelia and then went off and beat the Witches. I know I need to get to the password door now
but I can't remember where it is. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cathedral Ward, the "main plaza" where there are two giants. Look around the big fountain.

Seems like some design choices are really strange coming from DaS/DaS II. Wonder if this was because of dev time

- why no comparison of stats when you buy gear
- why no teleporting from the lamps directly (like bonfire)
- why no healing/respawning at lamps (like bonfire)
- why not showing how much souls/echoes you need for next level in character screen

first patch is going to be very interesting

going to explore the forest now before heading to bed.

Yeah those are some very strange absences. Having to wait through the loading screens between teleporting to the hub and the next area i want to go through is a bit annoying. On the other hand, I do like some of the major gameplay design choices in comparison to Dark Souls that really changes how the game plays.

The lack of turtling behind greatshields (the wooden shield isnt much help), the lack of backstabbing, the faster enemies, the increased reliance on movement, countering, dodging, etc. It really makes the game far more intense and challenging.

I definitely understand why a great deal of people see this game as more difficult than the previous games, especially newcomers.

About how deep into the game do new weapons or weapon upgrades become available? I'm doing ok combat wise but would appreciate more oomph

There are badges throughout the game that unlock new weapons in the shop, and some bosses will change the shop's inventory too. That being said, there's a badge in the first area.

It's at the end of the sewers.
Also
If you're looking for oomph you could go with the kirkhammer that unlocks after you beat cleric beast

So where do you need to go to open the gate at the beginning of
Forgotten Woods
?

I beat the boss and feel like I've thoroughly gone around the area, but can't figure out where that comes out at. Or is that not accessible until later on?

I want to do more with NPCs on NG+ because I think I totally fucked all of that up.

What happened in my game was
I had a whore, the lady from the unseen village and that bitchy old lady at the chapel. Eventually they all got really messed up and the whore vanished. The lady turned nice and gave out sedatives a bunch and the girl I saved from the village just laughed when I talked to her.

I never sent anyone to the clinic. Also what's with the bride near the wet nurse? I didn't do anything with her but I wasn't sure what would happen if you killed her. I also never figured out what was up with the wheelchair guy by Rom.

guys should I give up on the
crow lady and her dueling buddy
? I have now reached
Yaharl'gul
, long past the point where that should have happened, and it didnt. Shes not even outside the church anymore so I dunno what to do :/
same thing happen to me, I found her in the Grand Cathedral. She went insane and tried to kill me :lol
edit: I only meet her once at the very begining of the game up till that point in my game.

I think I missed a way to go. I just beat the BSB as my third boss and it seems like a dead end. Am I supposed to do the chalice dungeon? I thought those were optional? I thought I had explored all the ways to go but I guess I missed something.

Anyone have tips for the enemies with the two hand spike things
when you open the gate with the warcheif emblem and go through the graveyard with the 2 giants there is a guy in the next room that wrecks me everytime halfman/halfbeast. Didn't seem like I could stun him from what I tried.

Same thing is happening in my game right now. . I thought I could
save them
.

And
apparently there is a guy you can get to come to the ward, but he didn't believe in me

Would someone mind telling me where the shortcut from BSB to the top of old Yarnham is? I somehow managed to kill it first go
"dem beast blood pills"
but can't find the short cut :(

Someone mentioned this before but I don't think I saw it answered -
Has anyone tried killing the dude in the chair before you fight Rom?

Do I have anything to lose by upgrading my weapon with blood gems(?) ? Can I swap them out, are the slots limited etc?
