Bloodborne |OT2| Praise The Moon

I haven't bought Bloodborne, reason is that being a dad of 3 with one of the kids just 5 months old my gaming sessions are limited to uber short bursts (30 minutes or so). I am assuming that to actually get good at Bloodborne and do any decent progress I will need much more time than I can afford right now.

Please, prove me wrong :P

No, your right. It takes time and a bit of practice to really get good.
---------------------

I love the Blades of Mercy. It's bread and butter is the quickstep+R1 attack. When done properly you can bounce around guys and it looks awesome. You look like a pinball sliding in between enemies for a quick couple strikes and dashing under or sidestepping attacks. I love it, I feel like such a bad ass using them. They are probably the most challenging weapon to use of the 9 or so that I have but the payoff is so worth it.

Hmm. Clues on where to go now? Just beaten V
icar
A
melia
& W
itch
of H
emwick
bosses. So I've completed both of those areas (minus the locked doors I haven't found to unlock yet).

Where do I go from here? What area should I teleport to look for next area?

Seems like some design choices are really strange coming from DaS/DaS II. Wonder if this was because of dev time

- why no comparison of stats when you buy gear
- why no teleporting from the lamps directly (like bonfire)
- why no healing/respawning at lamps (like bonfire)
- why not showing how much souls/echoes you need for next level in character screen
- loading screen without anything to read/see (other games had something...) - this is really a sign for limited dev time.
first patch is going to be very interesting

going to explore the forest now before heading to bed.

gonna call it for tonight at the start of
Yahar'gul
. Place looks nightmarish. Made some good progress today, more tomorow :)

wooooow, I like the sound of this.

You are close to my level if I'm not mistaken (I'm 130), we should schedule something. But I hope the game meta or whatever determines that this location is where people go to have honorable duels, no healing. I don't care if someone heals when I invade them but the moon lake is honestly the best place for straight up PVP and no distraction.

Uhhh... Depends
have you visited her by going through the back door of the clinic? if not, don't go attacking her door. If yes, then kill her with fire, I say(Though from what I understand she gets something else if you beat her after a certain boss?).

Yeah I got her on a table on all fours :) Think I'm going medieval on her ass.

You make it sound complicated. Why hit and run the boss, when you can just take out all the little adds first? He only spawns new ones when he teleports. He only teleports when you've dealt some damage, it's a simple pattern.

Yeah, getting rid of the adds while staying at mid-distance is way easier than avoiding them.

Damn
old yarnham
is tough. I haven't even opened a shortcut yet...

Fricking
machine gun

It's a bit of an awkward one, pretty deep in and easily missable but damn is it a good one when you find it. I hate
old Yarnham
despite not finding it too rough, at the lower end though it does get a little bit nasty.

I was the forbidden forest, go uppercutted into next year by some sack guy, and
woke up in prison cell
. I found my way out, but I also found another bitch of a boss too. Should I bother trying to fight it now, or should I go back to what I was doing?

And boy, what a dumb gameplay mechanic.

guys should I give up on the
crow lady and her dueling buddy
? I have now reached
Yaharl'gul
, long past the point where that should have happened, and it didnt. Shes not even outside the church anymore so I dunno what to do :/

lol so you found
Paarl
? He is easy to kill, get under his legs :p

Suddenly I knew the password.
When did I learn that?
If I remember correctly, (4th boss spoilers)
it's during the cutscene after the Vicar Amelia fight if you go up to the skull on the thing at the back of the Church. A cutscene plays and the last thing they say is "Fear the old blood"
... unless I'm completely wrong, which I might be.

Anyone else getting disconnected from the server and booted to the menu everytime they try to do some multiplayer?

Not verytime, but it's happened at least 3 times to me. Twice right after I had rung the beckoning bell. Causing me to lose two insight. The summoning system in this game is garbage awful though. It's so inconsistent. Last night I played with a buddy for a good part of 6 hours. Of those 6 hours at least an hour and a half was just waiting to summon or be summoned. Even without password it would take a while.

But it's so inconsistent. One time we waited 40 mins before the summons went through, we had wiped soon after and I went to resummon and it took 30 seconds. It's all over the place. And it's bullshit you lose an insight on bell use. It should only count as an insight lost on a successful summon, not this bullshit we have now.

How does summoning in chalice dungeons work? My friend made one and I found it with his glyph. I joined and we cleared the first level together. Now I haven't unlocked the second level, so I'm sitting in the Chamber of the Seal while he's in Layer one and our bells arent finding each other.

How is this supposed to work?

Killing him only gives you a shortcut in
Old Yamham
.

How many times have you guys died by getting stuck on scenery and trying to dash?

I appreciate the detail but it's a pain when you're trying to weave around and you get stuck on a statue.
So many times. I was so happy when I noticed the
stairs
in the
FrG
fight although you an get stuck there too. And It happens against normal enemies too.

Your elevator is glitched? I hadn't heard that was a thing. Anyway you're welcome! Want help with anything else?

Game logged me off and when i stepped on it from the top it wouldn't work. I also noticed the two hunters i had killed had returned. the secret glowing items were still registered by my save that i had grabbed them going through the level though. I even tried the elevator from the bottom and it would not register me stepping on it.

That happened to me much earlier (just after beating
blood starved beast
).

So am I done with the first headstone after BSB? A new one had baby skeletons but I didn't know if that meant move on. Thanks in advance

I feel like I'm almost near the end of the game. I went to the top of the Cathedral (got the choir achievement). This game is getting 2spooky4me and my anxiety is through the roof. I wish I wasn't level 130 so someone could just co-op this with me.

Trying to beat BSB and having to go farm for healing items each time (with these atrocious loading times) is really putting me off. Is there any quick place in Old Yharnam where I can stock up?

Was so close to getting bsb first time, but got too cocky near end. Lost all the stuff I needed like fire paper, molotovs.

Is the payoff decent? Ive already done vicar amelia, is the
forest
next?

Call me a noob but I've only just cleared my way past thr bonfire area :3

I've sneaked around the huge thing bashing on the door and am near the fountain. I'm scared to go any further and imt scared to try and kill him. Is there a bonfire/lamp thing near? D:

Sometimes the game is totally unfair just like Demons Souls was. I am still on the first level and some pretty dumb stuff already happened.

The fact that an enemy can hit me through a fence and I can't hit them is bullshit. The fact that I scoped out the entire area and after I killed the mob an ogre came out and demolished me with no way to get out was bullshit.

Sometimes the game just makes itself harder by making it unfair, that's my only issue with Souls games. No matter how careful you are, no matter how much you play the game ready to get punished for your own mistakes, when there's something that is just completely out of your hands you just end up getting fucked over and have to start from the beginning.

Is there a better short cut to boss
shadow of yarn
it takes forever to get there

Yes, there's one that's fairly close. That being said, I can't tell you the details, because I was so god damned lost in that place and never died to the boss to use it.

The run between central yarnham and
father gascoigne
is the best for vials at this stage
