I've done the boss in Cathedral Ward, the weather seems to have changed here now I am back. I found a note which mentions the need for a password, but not sure where that is yet. There is a couple of areas I can explore here still I think. Otherwise, do I need to head toward that wooded area with all the riflemen?

No but I'd go there. Its doable if you've done VA.

No I meant my quote. I shouldn't have quoted you in context to
Amygdala
. I already knew about that. I mean the door that never facking opens.
If you ever find out how to open that god forsaken door that's been bothering me for days - then please PM me.

Trio
follow the path till you reach a house by the lake. Enter it, on the second floor, there should be a door, might need a key, you open leading you outside by a old dude. Walk towards the lake and fall off into the lake. It's a boss battle.
Edit: this thread moves too fast ;_;

Boy I am having a hard time connecting to my friend. This password system is not working for me. Anything obvious we're missing?

Guys I have a serious problem. I've played for 3 hours straight on the first time and then quit. For some reason the game can't load my save!!!!

It says installation is not complete! Wtf!!!! I have updated this game and it's installed on my PS4.

Is there anyone that can help me with this? I'm now playing a new character and scared if I quti, the game won't load again.

Depends. Is there meaning in wanting someone to die in a videogame? Maybe!

Hahaha, fair enough. But i don't have to go there to die a lot, i get lots of ass handling by the fucking
bag dude[/spoilers]

You have two options: Forbidden Forest or Hemwick (riflemen area). The forbidden forest door uses the password you are talking about and is accessed by walking down the stairs (from the Amelia lantern) to the circular area with the 2 giants and turning right and down a spiral staircase. Hemwick is easier and recommended as after you kill the boss there (who is relatively easy) you get the Rune Workshop Tool, which allows you to make use of Caryll runes.

WHY

Tbh you might not pay enough attention. I don't remember being killed out of nowhere/without any escape possible a single time since I got the game.

I mean I heard the giant, but as I was using the right control stick to look at the whole area the only enemies I saw were the mob of four guys and their two wolves. After I killed them the ogre came out, I honestly had no idea what happened. Sucked too cause I think I had 3106 souls which I think would've been good for leveling up my first time.

If you have the whip you can hit through fences/gates.

That makes sense but how come the enemies weapons go through even if they don't have a whip.

I had mine pre-loaded. This happened to me during The Order. If it's what I think it is? How long ago did you start the download? It took me a better half of the day to download everything. That first 5-6 GB isn't the entire game. It continues to download under Settings and Data Management.

Seems like some design choices are really strange coming from DaS/DaS II. Wonder if this was because of dev time

- why no comparison of stats when you buy gear
- why no teleporting from the lamps directly (like bonfire)
- why no healing/respawning at lamps (like bonfire)
- why not showing how much souls/echoes you need for next level in character screen

The first and fourth points are oddest to me. Seems very sloppy. But this game feels like it was rushed out. unoptimised, the plain loading screens, weird little quirks like not have stat comparison (which is super annoying). That final 5% kinda thing that feels like it's missing.

Maybe it has something to do with the chalice dungeons. Have you beaten all of them? I haven't even done one yet.
Nowhere near done with CD's!

I've tried 30 times. Worked twice. The concept is flawed fundementally.

So you ring your sinister bell. Now you only get summoned if another sinister bell is ringing. Now so a coop person rings their bell. Once they get a coop partner, a bell lady spawns and rings her bell. By the time that happens they're already through the fucking boss door. So you don't get summoned at all OR as soon as you do you're sent back cause they're in a boss fight.
It's essentially the same as before except now instead of going human and putting yourself at risk while looking for signs, you ring your bell and put yourself at risk while the game matches you up. Sounds like you've just had a bad run of luck or werent at a very hot spot.

When I co-op with people, the framerate stutters in the weirdest places. It's not lag either, the frames just take a nosedive, for instance in Central Yarnham. Why is that?

Where can I find NPC Spoiler
Alfred
first time round?

In the Cathedral ward, you go out and there's two guys with lanterns walking around a well. Go left. You'll come across a building with a tomb in the center. Go around the building to the left, up the stairs. Go through the room with the lever. He's on the other side down some stars.

No that's the problem. When you ring your bell you're not at risk. Once you get a coop partner, and then the bell lady shows up THEN you're at risk.

If just ringing your coop bell allowed invaders to show up it'd be perfect. But right now only way for an invader to invade is if someone purposely waits around for the bell lady to show up and not kill her.

Good god this game is magnificent.

Killed 3 bosses so far, CB, Father G and BSB. VA killed me so on the way back to her I got killed by this creep with a bag and woke up somewhere else. That place is some demented shit, found some new badass clothes and also another boss fight, think I'm still a bit underleveled for that place.

Ya'll talking about the gated door in the dream? Bugging the heck out of me too :/

No talking about this one. Not sure why I spoilered it. Doesn't really contain spoilers.

I've been trying to figure out a door that still hasn't opened in my game
and I'm nearly complete. So in the Cathedral ward there's one of those giants with a ball and chain (the only one with a ball and chain I believe) in a circular plateau. Down the stairs there are a ton of urns, and a chest down a passageway. Next to the chest is a door. It has said "closed" the entire game and it's just taunting me. Does it ever open?

Can I change my character appearance? I was playing at a friends house and just sorta clicked through it to play for a bit...then I got to the second boss and realized I could upload the ave to my PS+ account...and now i want to change the appearance

Man, these Chalice Dungeons are a grind. Really bland, really repetitive, and, ultimately, really boring.

Even some of the later ones that aren't super easy still have very, very uninspired layouts.

I'm attempting to find info/deal with this same bug. I found her in Central and then she never showed up for me outside of the Ward. I lost my warp point to the Tomb and so i walked back to it and checked it out and she wasn't there either. The lamp re-appeared in my warp list and now - at this point - she is just gone.

I've found multiple sources that say at this point our only chance is to complete Rom and then return to the Grand Cathedral where - hopefully - she will spawn as a hostile and attack you. If you beat her you get the Crows Mark badge thing and can purchase the gear and swords back at the Dream.

Working on getting this done tonight when I get home.

Dodge his swipes, run away when he charges up, get under him and attack the shit out of him, he'll put down his head. Visceral his face. Rinse and repeat

Also if you're <level 35 or something and are only there from being killed by the bag man I'd just wait until you go back there later in the game

At lvl 27 that whole area is giving me a lot of trouble, guess I gotta farm me some blood.

I'm sorry, but this game just crossed into the stupid design territory with the
Bell Maidens respawning enemies. I can't progress to find one to stop the spawning because I keep getting chased by a horde of witches that instantly respawn and rush me again after I kill them.
I love the game on the whole, but this is beyond ridiculous. I'll chalk this up as the first shit area of the game that I have been to. And I mean pure shit.

So you beat
Amalia? You are supposed to get a password after defeating her, I believe. I walked up to the altar and triggered a cutscene, went out and it looks like night time, went to the password door and had the answer.

I also don't get why ppl say BB is the easiest of them all.

Sure, ppl who played DeS,DaS,DaS II are going to be more trained in souls games even if the mechanics changed a bit. But i think that people who play BB for the first time have it harder compared to the other games.

Other games have shields where you can hide behind and survive a lot of encounters with doing little offensive action. Can't do this in BB

Other games had magic and bows to cheese 50 % of the enemies from far away. Starting DeS with Royal and the harry potter soul arrow made the game and bosses incredible more easy (Flamelurker is a joke with soul arrow).

Good players played the souls games only two-handed, rolling and doging a lot - no wonder that they breeze through BB, because the mechanics empower exactly this.
Yeah you can only relearn how to dodge so many times before doing it instinctively, seeking challenges from this game does not end with the end boss by any means considering what insight does and how huge the and varied the chalice dungeons are going to get. These people would need to do some optional stuff to get some more satisfaction out of the game but what's the problem with that? Optional stuff was always harder and most of the time better than a lot of the main game, the Dlc's of the past two souls games were excellent and optional and for me CD is basically a playground to see how hard and ridiculous the concept of souls can get.
