Fighting the
hunter in the Grand Cathedral for the Eileen the Crow quest
is arguably the most difficult thing I have fought so far in the game. How did you guys go about it?

My strat was:
let the hunter drain his hp using his katana till he pops his one and only vial. Then lead him to the stairs (doesn't dodge as much there) and throw poison knives at him and wait it out. Throw knives as needed and play it safe.

Easy win.

Take a right turn before the bit with the dogs (there's a lone hunchback) and you can drop down to the path after them without needing to face them

I figured that one out and it certainly helps a lot. It's not the worst place for them, though. The worst is

in the forest after the fall when you're taking the path behind the shanties and eventually onto the roofs. There are three cages there. If you open a shortcut, they are let out on every run until you close it and they reek havoc. Even without them, there are two that hide together in the dark of the forest and they suck

Need to make sure you opened all of the gates in the area. Go down by the courtyard instead of going up the steps and make the gate back there is open.
I didn't have the one at the bottom of the stairs where axe dudes are, but it's open now. My bell still isn't able to be used thoug.

So my weapon is at risk. How do I repair it?

I beat the Father and am trying to kill the gatling gun dude in old Yharnam. Where do I have to use the blood gem workshop tool?

Anyone wanna co op?
house in hunters dream. when you enter, just on the right side. where you also upgrade the weapons. no need for tool.

Just 2 shot another boss,
The One Reborn

So far only one boss has taken me more than 2 attempts :/

There is only one hard boss in this game.
It is the lighting werewolf, Abrogate Beast.

It took me about 10 tries when doing the Chalice dungeon.
3rd phase just destroys me.
Even the normal NPC event fight was harder than 90% of the bosses.

There's a path to the left after coming out of the chapel that leads to a new area and by examining the skull after the fight you learn the password to get through the door the cathedral ward.

To get your first chalice you need to beat the blood-starved Beast, and then you set it on one of the tombstones in the Hunters Dream for 1000 echoes. You get items, weapons, and I believe armor as well. There is no risk since the areas are small and the lamps are plentiful.

The path to the left? Do you mean down where you fight
two hunters after dropping from stairs that go down a cliff onto the roof of a house that has a couple of birds on top of it? If you follow that path all the way a giant floating boss kills the hell out of you in a big circular room.

Thanks for the heads up on the
password
. That I can get to easily.

Also, thanks for the info on the chalice dungeon!

I went the back way into the clinic and
the lady was just tied up on a table. She didn't say anything but she was definitely alive. What happened to her? I hit her through the door beforehand so she wouldn't talk to me anymore and I also sent the werewolf halfbreed obviously bad guy to her in hopes that that would cause some trouble but that didn't seem to do anything
.

Skimming through the thread I read
Unseen village
is an end-game area?! Well at least I got to do several hours of leveling there, haha. The
Darkbeast stopped me though
. No I'm back on track in the FF. This game is something special and one of those games that will refine my own expectations of certain genres/games.

Oh whoops, sorry I meant right. I'm so used to going that way from the Cathdral Ward that I just said left without thinking.

baited him to the stairs, mucked about until he transformed his sword so it drsins hp, ran to eileen and wsited fir hin to bleed out as he returned to his starting position lol

There's a lantern. Run up the big stairs to the left of your spawn point and take a left at the top

EDIT: Actually maybe you're not where I think you are.

Thanks. I found it after watching a vid. It was right in front of me but I just didn't see it :(

There should be 2-3 gates in that area. One is right at the bottom of the stairs, but another one is through the courtyard those two large monsters patrol.

Has anyone been doing chalice dungeons? Im on layer 3 of
Ailing Loran
just killed the chalice version of BSB and its insanely tough. For reference im lvl 105

Been doing Ptumethu layer 2 at 40ish and has been ok, but you're scaring me at layer 3 being that hard lol

That's the right (as in, non-left) path that leads to where you described. Well, right if you're facing the Grand Cathedral and not coming out of it.

He only has one vial?! That's a huge relief. I was playing super aggressive and up close because I thought he would have more. Thanks!

Commit Murder.
Trust me.

Did I skip the fourth boss? I'm fighting
dark beast pearl
after
bsb
. Some dude with a bag killed me and I spawned here after heading back to cathedral.

If you have the hunter's axe, abuse its double handed charged R2 attack ( a double spin attack). It has massive reach and will hurt him even through a bunch of gravestones or a tree.
Once he goes beast it's molotov throwing time..

I got him. I use a the cane so I kept gravestones between him and I so I didn't have to worry about his blunderbuss and I had the reach with the whip after he changed I ran up the stairs and was able to avoid him enough without anything obstructing my movement. I've killed the thing passing as a protector in the odelon or however you spell it church since I read it just wants me to send it people to kill

I just cannot wrap up Father G. The second half wraps me up quick. Maybe I should be more aggressive or something. Got him down to 25% or so last time.

I never found myself needing to go back up there.

There is room loot back there which I'm glad I went and got, but mostly it was me going around there thinking it was eventually going to lead to the locked door by the lantern and be the way up. It was not and I was disappointed. Oh well, ended up with 50k souls by the time I got through there and got back.

Is there a consensus best place to farm vials? A lot of times I'm just using extra souls to buy them to save time but that seems like a waste

The Witch checkpoint, run backwards and fight the 3 big fat axe guys. Those usually drop like 1-4 vials for me.

Beat Father Gascoigne a while ago. It took me 4 tries I think.

Video here: Father Cascoigne boss battle

I'm using the Axe by the way. Which stat should I be focusing on? I don't want to end up raising stats I shouldn't be.
Vitality and Endurance is always good. But if you like the axe, you can pump strength.

there is a lamp upstairs. leave and come back later. area is supposed to be done later.

Fucking hell, I warped back to Central lamp and
I got jumped. Scared the shit outta me, lol Then I figured out who it was...
Good one From

Man... it was weird seeing that weird mob in the corner near cathedral ward since I never saw it before after treading the area multiple times. Scared the shit out of me.
