Are HL and UV in the area to the left right before
Amelia's
entrance? Or is one of those in the 10k gate?

HL is to the left of the building where VA is at, while to the right of VA is an area that currently I have no idea where it leads except to a large locked door after some pretty tough enemies (But has quite a few of the crystal lizard substitutes). So you'll need to get past the 10k gate first for those. UV you have to unlock via getting
killed by the bag-wielding Snatchers
, which sends you there. UV is a pretty tough area though with plenty of OHK or 2 hit kill enemies, so while there's plenty of twin shards there, you'll need to be able to deal some damage to get the most out of it.

That b
loodletting
b
east
(chalice spoiler) is very annoying. The camera in those games just doesn't work against big enemies that get really close to you.

I stayed close, if youre far away sprint and jump into him. That reach attack destroys you. He does stomp so be careful.

Yeah I was doing something similar and it was working pretty well until I got killed in one hit when it was down to ~25% health :(

Any tips for damaging
Amelia
? My hits seem to do very little. Currently level 34.

You can

stagger her fairly consistently by going for the legs. Dodge a major attack, get in close and swipe away. In my experience, this boss is much easier with an aggressive approach rather than a cautious one.
The second phase has a healing move, though, so depending on how much damage you can actually make it could become very hard. When she starts to heal, get in close quick and slash away to mitigate the healing. Don't stop until it's 100% done, there's still time for one or two additional hits before you need to dodge again.

Just beat that damn blood starved beast on my 7th try. Ill admit I rang the bell for help, but the dude died before the beast was at half-health. So im counting that as a solo win in my book! I was making that battle way harder than it had to be. My first thought was to always use the columns, keep them between me and the beast. But you really only need those to heal/antidote.

Anyways that area is really fun overall.

Has anyone made an OT for lore discussion and spoilers? I'd love to do it once I'm finished with the game (tonight or early tomorrow).

I died to the first boss 10 times because of that damn camera. Haven't died more than 3 times to any other boss. They can't have these narrow corridor boss fights with the camera like that.

I have never been able to summon anyone. I don't get it. I ring the bell and it just searches forever. I've got it on worldwide and I have about 30 insight so I don't know what the problem is.

If you're resuming the game from a Suspend/Resume function that could be impacting it. That seems to kill online for some reason and you'd have to force close the game and restart it.

Also make sure you didn't accidentally set a password.

Whew. I'm on my way to the third boss. I was sweating bullets. Usually you can find some shortcut back to the lamp. It seemed like forever to find this one. Found it with one potion left.

That stupid werewolf creature busting out of the door nearly killed me!

Fighting all those screaming creatures with headphones on. Jeeez.

Oh, yeah, I've been resuming the entire time. Does a hard reset fix that or just close the game and go back to the menu?

I'm finding Bloodborne to be the first Soulslike where the columns help the bosses as much as they do the player. Seriously. Use them to heal but stay in the open when fighting is what I've quickly learned to do.

Wow PvP in this game just seems like it won't be fun at all. Beat on a guys ass, he runs off and heals, repeat.

Unless you can buy the numbing mist stuff.

And you can.

Make sure you have a decently upgraded weapon. She's also weak to fire so Firepaper would make the fire easier.

Fire paper, molotovs.
Can you buy Fire Paper anywhere? I'm out.

This is pretty much what I'm doing.

Alright, thanks. I just died to the two guys to the right of VA. I will be sure to go left this time. I did it before I tried VA, but ran back because I thought it was going to be a lot tougher.

I just got the Blade of Mercy with the Crow Questline ... They are deadly when you can string all the hit of the combo! it's cleary replacing my Cane as primary weapon !

Would you ever think to love me?
