Played for a couple hours and my progress is basically keep dying around the part where all the guys stand around the fire.
If I make it past that, something ambushes me. It could be a giant ax dude, or some birds, or some wolves.
Jesus. I should have known better since I wasnt a fan of dark souls but I'm having a huge amount of buyers remorse right now from buying into the hype.
Rom is kicking my ass and it's annoying because of that fucking projectile. How on earth do you evade that? 50/50 I get hit every time, and I have no blood vials.
I just got to the Forbidden Forest. Hit level 48. Farming here can get you a ton of levels fast. I was holding 50K at one point lol.
Probably going to get myself to 55-60 before pressing onward. Just too good.
Also, has anyone found a weapon better than the starting Axe? That thing is just out of this world. I was told Ludvig's was going to be the bomb, but it hits way too slow in two hand mode, and the R1 L1 R1 or just R2 bop from the Axe is too good.
I've got a huge WTF moment, scared the shit out of me. Forbidden Woods spoilers, has to do with a random npc you find...
So I found this weird guy on top of the building where you first see the snake people, and he was eating corpses. I talked to him and he asked me if I knew of a safe place, and I decided to answer no. For whatever reason, I have no idea, I decided to hit him. 18 hours in, he is literally the only npc I could talk to that i attacked... Well apparently he didn't like that because he turned into an electrical mini cleric beast. Like, wtf I never thought in a million years that would happen. I must have terrible luck, because he's the only npc that this probably happens. Anyone know what his name is?
although i hit him as soon as i saw him, i thought he was a baddie. (the woods made me a little trigger happy. lol)
That's why was asking if this game has a version of oswald of carim.
Probably been answered before but I can't seem to find it:
Is there a level limit on summoning? I know DS2 had a soul memory thing where you had to be within a certain amount or you couldn't summon exactly who you wanted to to your game.
Does Bloodborne do something similar? Is it based on character level? If so, what's is the limit?
RE: Rom: When he rolls on his back, he's summoning ice shards from the ground. Press up against his body and they'll miss. As for meteor shower, he does this when he raises his head. Lock onto him and dodge straight left or right. If you get hit, roll away from spiders and heal. Run in for two quick R1 strikes, and run away.
No clue, it can be done very underleveled. Just run past the outside part of it, those enemies are oddly much much harder than the inside. I had no trouble once I got inside.

Nothing should be able to ambush you more than once, if it was there once it'll be in the same spot again after you die. Just take it slow and try to fight as few enemies at a time as possible, especially around that large bonfire neat the beginning. If you slowly creep forward you should be able to lure one or two at a time back to a safer area and dispatch them.

Just killed the "three shadows" boss. Opened up the path to the fourth archstone, made it through the university and into Nightmare land. WAY TOO HARD.
Progressed ahead from the three shadows area into the mini-cuthulus with the church in the middle with a hunter that casts magic. WAY TOO HARD.
Am I missing something? Maybe some alternate paths on the

I realized after it was too late that mixing forward and lateral rolls reduced my bombardment rate quite a bit. Also be really aggressive while his army is relatively small.
Hm. What armor are you wearing and what's your vitality stat?
The adds do one shot you with some of their attacks, yeah, but you SHOULD survive a meteor, else it's damn near impossible to hurt the boss properly without being paranoid.

So I beat the second boss within the Pthumerian Labyrinth Center, as well as the Root version, that was wearing the Bone Ash armor and got the Lower chalice. Went back to the fountain vendor to buy the Bone Ash armor but it's still not there. Removed the chalice and redid the fight but still nothing.
What are good places to ring the Resonant Bell (before the third boss) to help people out with some co-op? I tried both before Cleric Beast and before the third boss and was never summoned after waiting 10+ minutes in each place.
Shouldn't take that long. There's an issue where you won't be matched with people if you resume from suspend mode. Also, make sure you don't have a password set I guess?

I think you skipped every optional boss in the game, lol. The story has like 16 bosses, but less than half are required. And that's not including Chalice Dungeons.
Well, I killed the big mob, headed past the giant axe guy, then started fighting two small wolves and other guys and giant axe guy decides he's gonna get in and Boom ambush
Go to the central Yharnam lantern and go left. Go in the house and kill the dude in the wheelchair for 4 bullets, then go back and and downstairs to kill the two brick trolls for ~4 blood vials. Can repeat this fairly quickly.
I'm having a harder time with VA than BSB because of the massive sweeping attacks and size. BSB was tough, but was a much more manageable size and move-set imo. Plus all that
dudes I thought I was only like half way through, so I never in a million years thought my choices at the present would effect my game... like wtf... this was so short, and so honestly shockingly depressing. Like... wheres the story? Wtf happened?

you're building a knowledge foundation for the future of the game. Even through all the deaths, youre learning enemy attack patterns (a lot of which reoccur throughout the game) and your own move set, testing different weapons, etc
It might feel like wasted time if you lose blood echoes but your progress at the beginning shouldn't be about building up resources or increasing level. Progress is learning how to properly parry and execute visceral attacks. Its about learning to evade and counterattack. Progress isn't in your stats, but learning to play
