I like to think that's intentional as a way to fake out players.

That happened to me too, but I thought
she had just turned impervious. It seemed like she had took damage again after I quickly attacked the thing she summoned once, so I thought that was a trigger. And then a second witch popped up and I was like, oh
.

My brother said that didn't happen to him and the 2nd one was just appeared when the first died.

So you know what really left me in awe?
The whole mad-as-fuck Lovecraftian turnaround in the second half of the game.
So, so good.

This might be one of my favorite games ever! A true thing of beauty and art.

Jesus christ just finished. Last boss was awesome lore wise but a little on the easy side to beat, but I clearly missed so much in the game. Only found one covenant, didn't do any chalice dungeon stuff, I know I missed at least one entire area for sure. Gonna play ng+ when I have more time off from work and uni, as for now, time to catch up on assignments.

I got the "bad" ending, but I think for the first run through it's the right choice to make.

so has anyone found out how to open this door.

The one in the room full of vases in the Cathedral Ward area going left into a gate with a giant standing in front of it. Door also has a chest next to it.

Driving me nuts!

I know! I love it. And the
Berserk manga vibes resonate throughout the whole game in a big way.. The Berserk + Lovecraftian horror + Souls gameplay combo is like my favorite ever

Yeah, I absolutely loved that.
The end of the game is just purely awesome from an art and atmosphere point of view. I love how things get progressively creepier and crazier.

I think I read the key is in the upper part of
Yahar'Ghul
.

Has anyone ever been able to get the Chikage rapid poison effect to proc in either PvE or PvP?

I added blood gems to get the rapid poison up to the mid 40s too but so far everything seems to die prior to the poison kicking in. Maybe it is not working correctly or is some kind of bug? Wondering if others are experiencing the same.

I've even tested it on enemies that can take a decent amount of R1 hits (easily 7 or 8 hits) and still nothing, they die before poison kicks in.

Got one-shotted by some big dude in what I think was the cathedral ward (I feel down some tower) and
woke up in prison
. This place is fucking creepy.

One thing I forgot about this series. It's extremely dangerous and often counter-productive to play it while tired, which can write off a few hours of night playing. Perhaps I'll farm Charnel a bit. The run from the boss lantern to the entry is about 1.5 levels a trip right now and that's about as easy of farming as it gets for these games.

Just spent the last 2 hours playing, and didn't even get to first boss. In my defense, I must be going completely the wrong way because the enemies are getting way too difficult.

I'm going through mob, killing everything, around back, killing big dude pounding gate, killing the wolves and men, then getting to bridge. Tried killing giant werewolves to the right a couple times, decided to skip them, so broke barrels and am going into a huge building that drops down to various platforms... then to ladder with water and giant rats... usually the rats kill me as soon as i even get near the bottom of the ladder

i'm guessing i'm going the wrong way... but i'll explore more tomorrow. i've got lots of souls experience and know this just doesn't feel right. I still don't have parrying with the gun down.

I know right? Now go save the woman! No one should be left there to rot...

Thankfully found her, the big enemies there deal insane damage. Every one of their attacks almost one-shot me from full HP, they have a ton of HP themselves and impossible to stagger.

Noped like hell and just ran past all of them lol

I cleared every inch/enemy in that entire zone more than once (actually a fan of it) and if it's there, it's very well hidden because I searched every possible spot.

On another note...I'm pretty much at the end of the game (still NG) and was doing a couple quick vial runs before bed. I decided to hit my bell to see if anyone needed help with FG. Of course I'm way overleveled so I really didn't expect it to work. However, I was summoned by someone on NG+ (Dropped almost 19k echoes and caught me off guard because I was expecting faceroll).

Was a bit confused so tried it again, and yup...same thing two more times.

This normal?

Wow, after cruising through the game and the bosses, finally hit two brick walls:

- The first one was definitely Rom; quite a crappy boss fight and my lack of patience did me in. Killed him on the fourth attempt.
- The second one is the hunter you meet in the Grand Cathedral, god damn. Still haven't been able to kill him :( Talk about a serious difficulty bump.

EDIT: By the way, has anyone noticed that particles in the air react to weapon swings? Very cool and subtle effect! Clearly visible inside the Grand Cathedral.

Now that I've gotten my Kirkhammer up to level 6, I've fallen even more in love with it. It's so damn satisfying. The hard hitting hammer blows just work and the fast sword is great when things get hairy. Nothing is more satisfying than running up to a
Snatcher
, smashing them with a charge shot and finishing them with a big golf swing before they can get out of stun lock. Just silly in an awesome way.

Had a pretty productive day today. Easily beat BSB because I was over leveled for him. Then used the shortcut warp to get to DP and he also went down super easy. Kind of disappointed with the bosses so far. Only boss that gave me a lick of trouble was VA and only because I was playing like crap. Sure they'll get better, but not an awesome start. They are great looking designs, though.

Also sadly had to kill
Djura
. Didn't aggro in until his perch and yet he still went after me. Felt bad about it, but oh well. Sometimes crap happens.

And ran into a boss called
Darkbeast Paarl
or something. It one-shotted me. God please tell me there's another way to get out of here lol.

e: thank god, found a lantern

Did you get involuntarily warped there? If so, yes you can get out without going after DP. Just
leave the prison cell and run toward the stairs, same direction as Paarl. After that go up both sets instead of just the one for DP. After that, run past the Snatchers and the Lantern will be right in that same room.

How do you get in there otherwise? I feel cheated, could have been a few more levels at this point.

I was on my way to Vicar Amelia, but decided to wander off for a bit and unlocked some gates.

Btw, I also found Ludwig's Sword and immediately upgraded it to +3 and put some gems into it. Thing is a beast, instantly got hooked into using it. I got my Hunter's Axe handy for other mobs.

On my way to Amelia I wandered off and found a Forrest with tombstones and some weird dogs with horns.what is down there?

I still haven't beaten Amelia or bsb yet.

Any tips for the
Shadow of Yarnham boss fight?

Use the big pillar to your advantage so you don't get hit by the fireballs. I tried going for the fireball shadow and the katana shadow. For katana shadow try using gun parry. Make sure you are aware of the location of the other two shadows, especially the candle one since it can one shot you in close range.

I cut down both fireball and katana one around half, and went fully for fireball first. After killing fireball shadow I killed katana, and next is one v one against the last shadow.

Some questions from last page plus one more. I'm going to bed, but wanting to see if anyone could answer them before I'm out lol.

post Vicar Amelia.

1) Event related.
What the hell is going on? Some enemies are gone. Old lady I sent to church is going nuts. The Giants aren't moving...

2) Boss/NPC/Progression related.
what next? Should I do Old Yarnham and fight BSB? Or fight Darkbeast? I've got the Black Church Set, but I've already got gunner guy firing at me. Can I still let him live by killing Darkbeast? AND. How do I get to Darkbeast anyway?

3) Weapon related.
Where do I get the Holy Blade? And what must I do to get to it?

Got a question about the Eileen quest

I first saw her near the sewers really early on in the game and then haven't seen her since. After killing the boss in Cathedral Ward she has appeared again outside the where the lamp is. Where should I go now? I think it sounds like the Tomb near by thwt you open up but I am not sure. I've read up about it and I didn't see her fighting two Hunters in Father Gascoigne's room.

In the Nightmare mode I found a Bath that teleports us to another previous zone. I wonder If I should jump down the elevator shaft. A message says its a hidden path.

More like a hidden path for dead bodies.

I believe it's already been confirmed as just a temporary buff, hasn't it? Like you get increased damage and take less damage for a short time once you fill the bar or something like that.
No difference in damage from no bar to full bar. Not sure about damage taken, since I didn't get hit. It was crazy hard to fill, and I had to gimp my weapon to get it up there against a giant. I am thinking that it is broken right now.

Even though I backed up my save I can't get the secret final boss on this. Fucking sucks. I swear if this dumb Arianna quest line can only be completed by a male character I'm gonna flip my shit. She kept telling me that this is no place for women and now I get no response. I already went to the clinic before killing Rom too. God damn.

Ah well something to keep in my mind for my NG+.
