Check your equipped gems.
Think it's a blood gem buff that comes with full HP.
Ah that's right thanks! It drove me crazy.

maybe i'm just playing these games completely wrongly
i'm hanging back trying to evade father g's attacks
but i always get caught on a swipe, knocked into some tombstones, trapped by the camera, and then he follows up and just eviscerates me
i really, really want to enjoy these games, but i just find them in a trial of absolute, 100% tedium and frustration :/ :/ :/ :/
That's just the pre-gud period. Once you git gud the percentages are reversed.am i supposed to find the experience of playing souls games about 90% boring/frustrating, 10% enjoyable?
Tried out the moves with a new weapon I just bought and killed the doll in the process. Oops.
Haha, what level are you?Tried out the moves with a new weapon I just bought and killed the doll in the process. Oops.
Keep behind her and use that stun dust stuff to stop her from healing.Isthe third boss? She's giving me a hard time with herVicar Amelia.healing spells

Sounds like that settles which soul level you will beat the game at! One less thing to worry about.

102
Don't worry though she is back alive the next time you return to the hunters dream. I could also inspect her dead body on the ground and still channel my blood echoes ha.
Not really, no. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but if you find the game overly punishing and very frustrating, then you might simply be lacking the mindset, patience and/or skills to be able to derive some enjoyment out of it.
With that said, I'd probably still recommend you to try and push ahead, because the beginning parts of every Souls game usually lead to frustration. The game may suddenly "click" as soon as you manage to overcome an annoying boss or two.
i really want to enjoy this game because i think the setting is wonderful. but this game is putting me into a state of extreme frustration and lack of enjoyment.

i don't find it particularly 'punishing', just boring. the punishment is that you have to replay the section over and over again. that's not 'punishment', per se. it's just tedious.
perhaps i lack the patience? i've played games like ninja gaiden 2, and enjoyed them a great deal, but i find bloodborne to be mechanically just baffling. i just can't seem to wrap my head around what i'm supposed to be doing in these games. i get caught in endless stun loops, trapped on scenery, and killed by basic mobs over and over and over again. in all three souls games that i've played (demons, dark, and bb).

If it's pissing you off that much, don't play it.
Trade it in for something you will enjoy. It's just a video game. You aren't missing out on some amazing life experience by skipping it.
Question regarding a boss. I'm doing 5 damage with each strike. Is there a trick to it or what? o_oAmygdala
You gotta hit the head.

Do people really hate that area? It's one of my favourites; great atmosphere and sprawling design.people hatebut I actually liked them :/forbiden woods
Ugh I hate pumping points into vitality. It feels like I'm wasting points that could've gone to doing more damage. But things are getting ridiculous when it comes to enemies.Yeah, 13 is insanely low vit for that point in the game. You want at least 20

are by far and away the most frustrating enemy to fight at this point. I'm four bosses in and while I can take one, more than any other enemy it's a gamble if I'll actually beat it. Their mix of slow sluggish movement then sudden hyperactive attack flurries is a pain in the arse.Death Dealers

yeah but that's the whole point, according to the fans you really are, and i'd like to see why so many people swear this is the best game series of all time
Not every game is for everyone.
you dont need to like it if you dont.
thats fine.
Yeah, that part you're at now was a real kick in the nuts for me. Spent far too long getting rekt by trash mobswell its the layout and how long it is. both true, but I enjoyed it
