when you get
kitnapped
is there a boss in that area?

I'm at the lamp al the way up he round stairs and imo I found everything outside.
but I could only open 1 door a the checkpoint.

and what is with the crying lady in the
basement
?

There is a boss if
you take the doorway partially up the circular staircase near the start.
As for the lady:
wear the black church set (maybe any piece of it) and she will talk to you.

I don't know your level, but your likely not to tackle this area yet. If you look a little, there will be a lamp nearby.

Get the hell out unless you feel like a motherfucking boss.

Get the hell out! That's one of the last areas of the game and the enemies will wreck you. There's a lantern up the stairs two rooms over from where you spawn.

I'm SL16 currently, so might be a bit underleveled. Good practise for an SL1 run though?!

Can I get back here later on then?

Whoops. I killed that lady because I didn't know what to do with her. Lol

it is?
i didn't have many problems and I reached it after my 3rd boss.

I just don't know how to open the second shortcut door and it seems like, there is a boss I can't find either.

Yeah I just think it's daft that it's a consumable and doesn't refill at the lamps.

That is my one negative about them. You should be able to interact with lanterns to set a different one as your spawn, and it should refill your ammo/health pots from stock. Don't think it needs the extra stuff like healing and repair though, I like the dream for that.

Okay so I just got
kidnapped
by a guy with a sack.

This area seems pretty tough compared with Old Yharnam - should I press on or get the hell out?

Stay bro, it's actually not as hard as some people say. If you've been following the games mechanics (analyzing attack patterns and knowing when to dodge) properly you can handle those
sack guys with ease.

sooooooooooooooo... I just killed the
crow lady
:(

I never got the bit with her fighting the guy where father G was, so now I saw a video if you went to the cathdral, she was dying outside, and you fought a katana guy in the cathedral (where we fought Amelia). But I went to the cathdral, and SHE was inside waiting and attacked me :(

the many ways these "side quests" can go is some of the best things about these games, no doubt about it

edit: well at least
I can buy her set now

God I hate that little section in the new section after you kill BsB and you have to slowly fall on those wooded planks all the way down, died 3 times now lol...thank god its fast to get back there...

Secret spoiler relating to that section:
There is a hidden door about halfway down that contains something interesting. You have to make a long jump from a specific place to get to it, but it is worth it imo.

So, im skipping around the game a bit and after the forest i defeated DBPaarl. In the videos i remember there being big beams in the arena, but this fight was outside...

Honestly, there really isn't a ton of that kind of stuff in this game it seems. Or it just hasn't been found yet. I think her chain is the only one that has multiple parts that can be messed up.

Whoops. I killed that lady because I didn't know what to do with her. Lol

Meh
She seems to just be another person you can send to a safe zone. In my game I sent her to the church and she can give me some of her blood. As the game progresses she starts getting more silent and crazy, but nothing else has happened.

First off, did you open all the shortcuts to him that make the run simple?
The main one is using the teleporter to get to the higher area to then drop down on the elevator that isn't functioning. When you drop down on it it will start working again and take you up to an even higher area that you started the zone at, near the first lantern in the zone. So you can just take that elevator from the first lantern to the teleporter that takes you near the end of the area on top of the overpasses and can just run across them to the ladder down on the other side of all those god damn crazy monsters on the path. The stop with the teleporter isn't where the elevator stops though, it's in the middle of the ride so you will have to walk off it when moving.

dude...what? :( Im so confused.

I went to him from the main door in gaol (in front of the now not-funcioning lantern), went through the now open door in the square and then I just ran down the road avoiding all the disgusting monsters because I was low on vials from fighting the 3 hunters. Then the boss triggered. I have no idea what this teleporter and elevator you are talking about are :(

Wait, there is something to do after the BSB fight in that area?

Also guys, I really need co-op help at the Byrgenwyrth boss. No matter what I do I seem to always get hit by her. Such a shit fight. I'd gladly set up a password for any help.

So, I just beat (I'm assuming end-game spoilers) Re
born. How close am I to the end, and in a non spoilery fashion, where should I be watching out for, for the point of no-return? I really wanna go kill Martyr and finish the Chalices before I finish it.

you mean before you drop to the last plank?

I tried to jump to the door, but it seems to far.
(the door is closed, isn't it?)

Okay,
Right before the disgusting monsters that spit at you there should be a path up some stairs to the left that let you go across the overpasses. There will be a couple of monsters on them but nothing as hard as dealing with the things on the ground. Around halfway along that path there is a dish on the ground that you can use to teleport to a different dish.

Yeah agreed. Also, for farming having to load out, load in is annoying. Having them immediately respawn like in Dark Souls was brilliant.

I'm going to keep spamming my co-op need at Byrgenwhert folks. Seriously. Pls. Anyone who cares to help, gladly. Two, three guys, 's all good. I'm done.

do those also r
espawn via maidens
or can I do that bit like a normal zone?

It just uses up 10 QS Bullets, so you only get 2 shots unless you can find 5 more from enemies since you can't get more than 5 temporary ones. It's great for groups of enemies though.

You can actually get 4 shots off with it if you start with 20 bullets and use the Temp +5 thing before each shot. Start with 20+5 down to 15+5 to 10+5 to 5+5.

Plus there's 4 Runes that give +1/2/3/4 Max Bullets, equipping the best 3 gives you 29 base stock. So 29+5 to 24+5 to 19+5 to 14+5 to 9+5. That's only 1 extra shot though, so at most you'd only want to use 2 rune slots on it to give yourself at least another +5.

Wait, there is something to do after the BSB fight in that area?

He is talking about the area under the healing church workshop that is from the door near the cathedral ward lantern that opens up after beating BSB.

The
door in the drop section isn't locked. You need to jump to it from a platform on your right if you are looking towards the door. Think there is a way to drop from above as well but I couldn't do that one.

As for the boss in the kidnapped area
From where you originally got tossed into jail there there is a twin circular staircase that leads up to the lantern. Halfway up it there is another exit that is a little hallway. If you follow that area passed a couple of knife witches and 2 sackmen there is just a hole in the side of the building that you follow outside and drop down for an optional boss.

it is ABSURD how much worse I am at this game compared to dark souls

Look man... I consider(ed) myself the 'Souls' king. I gleefully said (to myself in a mirror ..when my wife is wasn't looking) "you're freaking awesome!" & "The enemies in the Souls games quake at my coming!"

... Now :(

I haven't gotten past the first boss after 5 hours. Everything I thought is in doubt. I had to turn BB off last light to "sleep on changing my approach from defensive minded to passive aggressive". The good news is that today is a new day and I'm ready to implement.

Thanks OBAMA.

Noob question:I finally beat Cleric Beast and quickly met an end to Father G. I'm assuming I should explore more before fighting him again - are there any side quests or weapons to be found before eating Father G's gun again?
:-)

Can't you only get the blood bullets once per life? What's the cooldown on it?

Really? I cleared the entirety of the
cathedral ward and looked around and found nothing.

I guess I missed something in
Old Yharnham?

I can't remember where it is..I just know in my first playthrough I killed the 4th boss and then bought the key..spent 20mins looking for what door it goes to before realizing it was back to the chapel.

Did not think of this, awesome.

So I beat BSB, and explored around there a bit and found nothing.

I assume the next area
is the 10k door in cathedral ward?

It is, but there's a way to get through without spending the echoes.
Go up the elevator to the healing chruch workshop and then go down instead of up.

In the sewers there's a ladder that leads you to a little girl that gives you a music box. Use the music box on Father G.

Every weapon in the game has an arcane scaling stat, but it will not actually do any extra damage with it unless it has some form of arcane damage already on the weapon. A couple of weapons have that natively on them. The reason it is on other weapons is for when you put gems that change your attack to a different type.

I wonder if the weapon's arcane scaling stat has any effect on Fire/Bolt Paper and the Arcane buff item.

maybe i'm just playing these games completely wrongly

i'm hanging back trying to evade father g's attacks

but i always get caught on a swipe, knocked into some tombstones, trapped by the camera, and then he follows up and just eviscerates me

i really, really want to enjoy these games, but i just find them in a trial of absolute, 100% tedium and frustration :/ :/ :/ :/

I'm not a fan of the hunter-on-hunter fights, they just feel like frustrating circle strafed with the other guy usually way faster than you. They just aren't fun fights (bosses often aren't in souls games, but these seem worse). Their shooting is annoying too and difficult to defend against.

Can't you only get the blood bullets once per life? What's the cooldown on it?

You can use it infinitely. It just takes about a Vial's worth of HP off each time. It only goes up to +5 at once though, if you have it at +4 and use it again it just bumps it back to +5 so you'd have just wasted a bunch of HP.

It is, but there's a way to get through without spending the echoes.
Go up the elevator to the healing chruch workshop and then go down instead of up.

btw.: is there anything else to do, besides going down?
that was the only way I could go.
when going up, I couldn't progress.

Was grinding my usual spot and happened to find the

Tonitrus

Looks fucking rad, upgraded it right away.

I could sell it for 13k, so I did. :D
