Just killed the
3 dudes at the end of the forrest
. Wasn't so bad in the end. Now where to go next... This game is really starting to click with me. I was a little unsure of certain elements when compared with previous Souls games but it's really got me hooked now

Just got my Holy Sword to +10 and 2 shiny new +18% Phsyical Attack gems..It's glorious.

Where did you get the gems? Think I found one in the
unseen village second time there.

do those also r
espawn via maidens
or can I do that bit like a normal zone?

There
are some things across the overpass that get respawned, but it is just minor mobs. None of the big ones. Think it's just one guy with a gun on the first overpass. The maiden for overpass area is at the end of it after the teleporter dish, right near the ladder that you take down to the other side of the ground monsters. There are a couple of dogs on the other side of the teleporter that also respawn and their maiden is down on the ground so you should just not worry about it.

chalice dungeons have some really nice bosses, I already found 2 related to the dungeon lore.

anyhow I'm glad that they found out already a duping glitch, it's like if the game had a respec option now. I'm actually enjoying pvp so yeah, I'm going to make some new builds.

So, how do you guys feel about the level of customization the game offers? I guess those who've already completed the game can better answer the question, but it seems to me (after about 15 hours) there isn't as much of a reason to roll a new character as there was in DkS1 or the other Souls games.

Really? I cleared the entirety of the
cathedral ward and looked around and found nothing.

I guess I missed something in
Old Yharnham?

The other way is from
the door to the right near the cathedral ward lantern that opens after you kill BSB. It takes you to the healing church workshop that has a few levels going up with some nice items and a door for much later, and an area under it that you have to drop down. At the bottom of it is an area you can use to bypass the door that uses the bought key.
Also
there is a hidden area halfway down the drop under the healing church workshop.

Just beaten the first boss - very first in my time with Souls games! (I'm beyond happy)

Congrats! In my experience once someone manages to beat the first boss they become hooked.

what is the name of the key and where do i use it?

Not sure of the name (Though I'm guessing it has "Healing Church" in the name. You use it on the door at the top of the tower where you found the badge that lets you buy Ludwig's Holy Blade.

Rang the bell before the boss fight in Old Yharnam and have been sitting around waiting for almost 10 minutes.
No password. Network set to local and switched to worldwide. Tried it twice now.

What gives?

Have you used rest mode on your ps4 since the update? That seems to break coop in this game. You have to close the game entirely and restart to fix it.

Vicar Amelia has been attempted over 8 times and now its pissing me off

got her first try.
use
fire paper

man, i'm so bad with locations in this game.
no idea what you are talking about. :D

ah, never mind.

Have you allowed Bloodborne to be suspended in rest mode? Other Gaffer told me that messes up summoning. Couldn't get it working yesterday. Today after a clean PS4 boot it seems better.

Here's a tip for people: be sure to check out the L2 attacks on the 2 handed weapons. Just been through them all and some are really useful, especially on the kirkhammer and chikage. Easily missed since you don't think to hit the parry button

Thanks for tip. I went and
bought the key straight away after I couldn't find any path forward beyond BSB.

I'll go back to the
cathedral ward lantern and take a look around.

I'm going to keep spamming my co-op need at Byrgenwhert folks. Seriously. Pls. Anyone who cares to help, gladly. Two, three guys, 's all good. I'm done.

For R
om
? Just beat it and died a lot of times to it. To me
the key to the fight was to kill the spiders quickly, by swiping them from the side, which pretty much one shot them. They have very strong armor on their head so hitting them from the front will not work well. Same thing with Rom, need to hit him at the side. One thing that definitely didn't work was to ignore the spiders. They eventually overwhelm you towards the end of the fight and make killing Rom very hard. I ended up killing them quickly after each time Rom disappears and then just wrecked Rom

So I just reverting my save from all the way before
Unseen Yarghul lamp
from beating the game because of how upset I was at the ending.

Going to go through a good 8 hours again today to get the ending I want and do all the areas I missed.

WARNING TO PLAYERS WHO HAVE YET TO BEAT THE GAME, DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ THIS MILD SPOILER (I promise its not that bad:

After defeating the "nurse" boss, do NOT make a decision in the backyard of Dream's Refuge until you are ready for NG+

Or how DO you beat Rom? Im always getting hit by ranged attacks no matter how i dodge.

Apparently the lightning based weapon destroys Rom, so going on that I'd assume lightning paper would help with any other weapon.

Best tip is clear first round of spiders, ignore rest, and for the AOE attack roll like a mofo.

Finally ! A platinum trophy.

I'm okay with it. The weapons are varied enough and the alternate Trick forms add a lot to the game. My two biggest complaints would be No Respec (Arcane is such shit) and a lack of new items in NG+. Seems just all identical to my first run through, which is a bit disappointing. Not even getting any higher level gems, which is a real downer. Getting the same old low level trash ones all over again. I guess you *have* to do Chalice dungeons to get high level ones, which I think is a mistake. NG+ should do more than just buff up enemies and it *should* allow you to progress your character through better gems, but it doesn't.

Oh my god, I can still get summoned into FG and CB fights at level 20. I was probably doing ~220 damage per hit on the latter with my decked out Threaded Cane +7.

Is there a way to get on the 2nd floor of the le
cture
bu
ilding
? I've looked everywhere but can't find it. I can see enemies there so I should be able to get there somehow, right?

So guys

-Hunter's Axe
-Holy Blade
-Kirkhammer

all of them at +8 and i can only bring one to +10 atm

Wich one should i upgrade first? STR47

Yes, though I suppose they might tweak and add to that stuff through either patches or DLC or something.

Tried and tried. Only 1 bolt paper left. First round is always easy. Kill spiders first then hit big guy. Second round i cant kill rim because spiders jump on me. Cant kill spiders because of nigh undodgable ranged attack.

Where do i farm bolt paper? Or help me co op?

So i'm now very sure that the

shadow spawns don't appear
in Hemwick when you're insight is below 15. I wanted to farm them after I bought Henryk stuff and they were gone.

I'd go Holy Blade.

Anybody elses PS4 get super loud while playing this game? I always thought it was basically silent but the fans kick on hard if I open up the dashboard while playing this game.

Had to go through a lot of grinding in order to get my 2nd playthrough Arcane build to get going, but now I've got everything going pretty well and it's pretty fun.

I've got to get some better gems though, which probably means delving into chalice dungeons soon.
