How do I face the boss in the cathedral ward through the little cave? Nothing seems to happen in the room other than the orb that pops up by the door I can't open

Spoilers for mid-gameish, if you're not seven or eight bosses in you might not have seen this yet (and, possibly, much further)

Just killed Iosefka and used the Umbilical Cord item. Did I fuck up? I was super curious what would happen. Nothing noticeable so far. I almost immediately hit the PS button so I'm hoping I can close application and reload if I need to.

So just beat (late game optional boss)
Ebrietas
on my first attempt with minimal fuss. Guessing I got a glitched AI pattern or something from reading here how much trouble people are having with her. I was able to just stay close to her front left side, with no lock on, and just roll through any attacks moving between her left side and behind her as needed. Hit her with L2 and charged R2 attacks with the Ludwig sword. Didn't see some of the attacks that others have mentioned.

Best place to farm souls and blood vials? i,m in boss 8th.

Souls I don't know.

But for Vials I still go to
cathedral ward
Exit through the exit that's in fron of the lantern. Then go up the stairs. Kill the 2 white guys. Keep going, kill the white guy with the scythe, then the one with the gun, then all the others. Go down the stairs into the big round area and kill the 2 big white guys (they are sleeping so it's pretty easy to land a charged attack).
Not every run goes well but enemies in this area tend to drop 2 or even 3 vials (I generally get 4-8 per run).
When you go back to Hunters dream so they respawn you can spend the souls you just got (like 7000) on vials.

for me I go to Central Yharnam,
from the lantern go left and there is a door and a path on the left, go left first there are two giants that drops 2 Vials each (sometimes 4 each!), go back to the door there two enemies, (wheelchair always give you 4 bullets), continue up and there is a bridge, kill the wolves to give you 3 Vials each, and head back to kill the giant before where the first boss was to give 2. Level up Arcane to increase the chances of dropping Vials and other items from enemies.

Oh, also, regarding Gatling Gun Guy,
I beat BSB before attacking Gatling Gun Guy but he keeps attacking me on sight. Yes, I "snuck up on him" by going in backwards through the shortcut from the BSB spawn lamp, but he still attacked me the instant I stepped off the ladder. I thought he was supposed to turn friendly?

Man, they need to patch this damn game. So many shitty glitches.

Wrong boss.

No, you're okay

To those who have done the true ending:

Can you consume the three cords while Insight capped, and it'll still be okay? Or should I buy some pointless stuff.

These three fucking hunters... It's like trying to fight three red eye kights at once at level one in Demon's to progress. How many of you cheesed this and hid behind an entrance or staircase lol.

Any tips for the forest?

Killed 2 bosses today (like the 9th and 10th I think)

Darkbeast Paarl: Had a bit of trouble evading some of his attacks so he killed me twice, but he didn't seem to have a lot of HP (or I was dealing a lot of damage, I'm not sure if I was supposed to fight him earlier) so he went down pretty fast

One Reborn: Not as hard as he looked in his entrance cutscene lol. The biggest problem here was being attacked from all directions.
Also damn, this whole area was really hard. It took me quite some time to realize that it was the women with the bells that made enemies respawn, enemies died fast but did massive damage and that part with the 3 NPC's Hunter was way harder than the boss because I wasn't able to lure them one at a time (throw a rock to the nearest one and all 3 of them come after you

Yeah I think I will try and help some others fighting her, maybe that way I can see what the fight is supposed to be like. There is no way the pattern I faced when I fought her was normal.

I've read there is a glitch for the elevator near the boss not working if you co op nearby? But shouldn't really matter now for me that I already beat the boss and got the latern.

I cheesed it by
running away and luring them one on one.

As always with Souls Cheese: no regrets. ESPECIALLY not in that zone.

Assume you're talking about the ones in Unseen Village?

If you're facing towards the the staircase from below, one of the hunters is on the right side. I backstab him & cannon shots, gets him pretty low and quick to finish off before the other two comes. After its down to 2, it becomes really easy.

I've had two end-game bosses not move onto their second stage or vary their attacks. Even one of the optional ones,
Master Logarius
, I just beat by parrying his right over-head swipe and getting visceral attack after visceral attack. As soon as I'd get in range, he's just repeat his easily deflectable move over and over again. Rinse and repeat.

It's a little underwhelming that it's resulted in making a few bosses a complete cakewalk.

I didn't, I avoided them altogether. I had already opened the shortcut to the boss on my first visit so they weren't an issue.

Any tips for the forest?

Stay back to bait them into their ranged attack and then dodge towards them right before they shoot attacking with your heavy right afterwards. Get away from them and then repeat the process until they die.

I hear you have to wear a certain armor set
(Black Church Set, found near Cathedral area) for him to become friendly.

Are you struggling with the
Bipedal Snake Head Dudes or Massive Snake Piles?

You have to make sure you defeat all of the
smaller snakes and guys with snakes popping out of their
first. Then you can use a tree as a shield and pop out every so often with Molotov cocktails. Once its health is low enough go in with some quick attacks.

I believe you need to kill Paarl first.

The boss you mentioned also glitched on me. Sucks since I saw people having issues fighting him, I'll probably get wrecked on NG+ since I have no idea what he actually can do.

Finally beat the 3rd boss / the beast. She was super annoying with the super poison. After using an antidote you shouldn't be allowed to get poisoned for X amount of seconds. Had to summon a buddy to help. Annoying to keep farming vials, bullets and antidotes for each failed attempt. Got her to 10% at one fail.

Then I got the
Ludwig's great sword

I just did that and it scared the shit out of me too.

I'm more offended by this than the loading screens. It just ruins your first encounter with a boss.

I ran to
our old jail cell, locked myself inside and killed them through the bars :p

Am I supposed to fight
Vicar Amelia
after
Blood-starved Beast
? Because damn, talk about a difficulty spike.

The one to the right? I went in and retrieved the badge after going up the tower, but I encountered a locked door :(

After taking the elevator go down the tower.

6, and I'm level 41 lol

Then no.

that cave you go through with the poison body of water in it?

Yep!

That's the next story boss, but there's two other optional ones you can fight right now.

With the snakes, it's basically a DPS race so what I did was just use the Axe in two hand mode R2 then quickly press R1, you get the stunlock power on both strikes and the R1 end combo is really useful since it's vertical as well as the starting R2 single swipe. This R2R1 combo is really good man, learn it and love it and then find the rest of the awesome and useful moveset.

DAT CHARGED R2 THOUGH.

Honestly even though I play around with the Axe a lot in two hand because it's fun, I prefer the Cane + gun or torch for the most part. I feel like I can confidently take on any of the bosses with the cane and in fact I only started really using the axe late game because I didn't like it at first. CANE FOR LIFE.
