I'm starting to feel the frustration people expressed about the R
om
fight (7th boss). Question: how can I differentiate
between his projectile attack and his ground slam? It appears that he lifts his head for both.

If I remember correctly, there is an audio clue when he is about to do the projectile attack. It sounded like a roar/echo.
For the Ground Slam I think he does a slight roll onto his side before he does it.

Played a few rounds of pvp. Seems really fun but man the healing is just ridiculous. Had to wait while my victim went through all 20'of his viles before I was able to finish him off

1. Shoot him with a gun when he is trying to heal. Gotto be a bit predictive on this one but usually it is quite obvious when they are trying to heal up.

2. Visceral Attack!

?. Profit!

Question: I've received a couple of 'quest' items and they aren't in my inventory. One was some sort of cape from
the hunter in the plague mask
and the other was the tiny music box (I think).

Where are these stored? I'd like to look at them but can't find where.

In the previous games you could always choose 'New game' and it will give you the choice of a new slot to save to. As far as I've heard, Bloodborne is identical.
Gestures is the cape one. Music box should be in your inventory.

WTF is attacking me? How can I stop that?

-edit-

I see. It's the
tower

My impression as well. Wonder when people will create the unwritten rule about not healing just like in other souls games.

Ok just had another match where I managed to stop the guy healing a few times. It's tough though cos they aren't really stunned long enough to give you chance to charge them down

Also, it was rapier vs kirkhammer and holy shit did the hammer seem bad. I absolutely destroyed the guy buy stun locking every time I saw that big wind up coming

Anyone else get that huge knot in their stomach and start sweating uncontrollably every time you get a boss down to their last bit of health?

It's like I'll be doing so well until I see that I need only 3 more hits to finish them. Then I suddenly start to lose control of my senses, I start making more mistakes and choking and barely manage to hang on

At least you feel fear, when I know of all the enemies attack patterns and the health is low I say in my head "I got this" and then proceed to Scrub it up by thinking I'm using the Dark Souls control scheme.

That's why you have to maintain close quarters and dodge man, most players don't realize that and keep trying to play that janky back and forth range game dance from Dark Souls.

This is a glorious bloodletting ballet of death and sophistication! THROW YOURSELVES TO THE WOLVES ALREADY!

Take the plunge!

Also it reeeally sucks that you don't respawn with full viles/bullets after an invasion. As if the load times aren't bad enough I have to go back to the hunter's dream so I don't go into the next fight with 5 bullets

Final Boss Spoilers (At least I think it's the last boss)

Fighting Gehrman, The First Hunter -- and I can get past the first "phase" by parrying and riposting his wide scythe attacks. But when he transforms it into a one handed form and wields a gun, I just can't work out how to deal with it. Can I summon? I really fucking need tips on this one

Jesus man, Spoiler that fucking shit goddamnit. FUCK.

EDIT: You fixed it but what has been seen cannot simply be unseen. D:

Managed to invade a person and whip both him and his cooperator into submission. That was satisfying.

Nice!

Even better when someone invades you, tries to sneak up on you from beind and you turn around and crush them LOL. Did it last night, as a dude who has never played a "Souls" pvp experience I absolutely love both invading and being invaded. Gets the heart rate up, that's for sure.

I saved the clip too.

Man that whip is so good once you get a combo going, I once whipped like 5 enemies to death with an R2 R2 R1 combo. So good.
The range is deceptively long, too. Cane-whip for life.

I actually prefer being invaded, because it's a lot easier for me to focus on one person rather than having to worry about one person shooting at me while the other one charges up their overpowered R2 move. It is (or can be) a lot of fun, though.

Death visits an Old Folks home for shits and giggles.

Where can I find this armor and weapon?

Exactly, the only thing that has more range is probably the hunter axe and even then the Cain Whip's R2 attacks are much faster even though you don't get a charge attack unless you are in Cane mode and even that is super fast compared to the others. That said Cain mode is basically a really strong rapier, and with scaling the only thing that does more damage on a VA is
LVB.

Cane mode is beast mode confirmed.

Armor: Beat the
2nd boss in the Central Pthumerian Labyrinth
chalice and you'll be able to
purchase it from the insight vendor
.

Weapon: no clue.

I feel it's super well suited for some of the earlier boss fights, but I'm worried how it will hold up once bosses get larger and more annoying. I love the speed of it, but I hate that the sawcleaver is even faster. I also wished the whip had a charged up move since everything else seems to. Maybe they can patch one in...

OT3 Lovecraftian without the Racism

Chalice dungeons...mmmmm..... I usually like light loot in games, but I do wish there was more here, it's a little grindy. Got a different version of a weapon, different gem slots, eh. Better gem drops are pretty rare and grinding out Blood (4) right now is boring and I guess I have to do a cursed chalice to progress?

Maybe co-op will make this into Dark Souls meets PSO

Really depends on how much optional stuff you've done so far, but probably about half way
Ok, halfway it seems. I'm about to start the content on the third gravestone in Hunter's Dream. I don't know if the 3rd and 4th stone have as much content as the previous two, though.

Nah, it works well for all the bosses as long as you keep its strengths and weaknesses in mind.

It is the weakest weapon of the bunch even with runes, scaling, and the blood gems, to counteract that though I'm fairly certain it has the highest counter damage of all the weapons I've used thus far. Then again it could just be my build and the gems I have which basically just boost attack anyway. That said, it also has the lowest Stamina cost per move regardless of the transformation state.

But, when you start to UNDERSTAND the cane, and love the cane; The cane makes us human, makes us more than human, makes us human no more.

I just fucking love the cane. I'm not sorry. Although the Hunter Axe has also proven quite venerable, but the kirkhammer is such a fucking disappointment. If I am going to go heavy I'll go LHB everyday. Or CANE.

Just got one of the so-called bad endings, I thought it was amazing. Really loved this game. Of course there's still a lot to do. I just got the final chalice to meet the ultimate chalice boss. At least the one attached to a trophy.

WTF, when i went to bed this thread was around 15000 posts. Now it's almost time for OT3. oO

Fought the boss SoY for the first time in the F
orgotten
Wood
and was keeping up nice, although *it* got me a few times good. And then only pixel health of the boss was left, i got sloppy and got suprised by a beefy special attack. You died. Rage > PS4 off.

Just bail out and start dashing like crazy a second after he does either. When it's over, dash back in for a few more hits.

More like Bloodborne OT3: I Can't Believe It's Not Lovecraft, Eldritch Substitute.

First time posting in this thread, as I wanted to try and finish the game unaided on first playthrough, but Vicar Amelia is pushing my shit in and I wanted to check I hadn't missed something obvious.

I've got a Saw Cleaver and Hunter Axe, both at +4, Strength 17 and Skill 10. I just can't seem to do enough damage to her,
as when she starts healing I rush her but she keeps getting too much health back and it feels like I'm fighting a losing battle. Every failed attempt is another 20 Blood Vials gone.

I also think I need to kill her to progress so I can't 'come back later'. I've beaten BsB and The Witch of Hemlock, and can't think of any more unexplored paths.

Any advice much appreciated.

Summon man. He's an asshole. I tried for an hour or 2, and couldn't even get him consistently to that mode change. Mind, i'm using daggers which means you have to get in his face due to lack of range and that doesnt end up well most of the time. Hes so much easier with 2 people

I summoned twice. Took 10 minutes or so both times, but if you ring it in the
dream
someone should come eventually. I'd help but I got progressed automatically to NG+. Be wary because I think you get transported straight there. Don't remember at least DS2 being like that

What's wrong with the Kirkhammer? That's been my most used weapon by far. The sword is fast enough to be nimble, and the hammer just annihilates fools, especially larger bosses. I guess Ludwig's is basically the same thing, but I've actually preferred the moveset of the Kirkhammer.

Killed some spiders. Got red moon.

Back to townWHAT THE FUCK IS THAT

HOLY S*** there is not only one !

Holy crap they move TT

My heart TT

This game TT
