I've seen people in the previous threads mentioning their high play times. When I defeated the above boss, my total play time was clocked at about 6 hours. Would that be around average, slow, or fast? The only other Souls game I've finished is Dark Souls itself.

6 hours :O maybe I'm super slow. Played for around 15 hours and I've only just got to that boss haha. It is my first "souls" game though. Haha

+6 is as good as it gets. I used a +6 axe for Byrgenwerth. The enemies definitely seem to have a bit more health at that point.

I would. The reward for the boss of the area is worthwhile, in my opinion.

I never thought if this. My lack of time with any of the previous games is showing already. Everytime i got them down to a few the guy on top would shoot me and finish me off.

Will try this now, thanks for the help.

Protips:

- always walk when you're in a new place
- when you spot an enemy that hasn't spotted you, always stand back and assess the situation. Are there any other enemies around? Could you be ambushed if you attack him? Does he look like he's going to destroy you with one hit KO? (If yes to any of these, probably don't go in yet).
- if you can lure one enemy away from others, do it and backtrack to lure that enemy really far away so you're safe
- if you get overwhelmed, roll away, turn tail and run. After a few metres/yards the enemies will forget about you and return to their post

Go to the witches of hemlock(sp?) if you haven't already
If you got the tonsil stone you can go me amygadla
Or explore the forest more and find a nice shortcut to another part of the map

That's clever...i lured 2 of them back at the lamp nearby.Apparently both of them aren't supposed to enter inside,only one was allowed.I beat one,then R2 with the cane the other outside from inside the lamp room (he was just standing still there,just staring at me) and finally i finished the third one in the original area.

For the first time, I jumped from being scared while playing this game. An enemy came out of nowhere and pulled the sneak attack. I absolutely love this game. Hoping the frame rates gets patched up soon. It's really noticeable in Old Yharnam. That is the only thing the naysayers can hold against this game thus far.

No she doesn't. Also, those types of bell maidens don't respawn after you kill them. Them ringing a bell doesn't guarantee you'll be invaded, but if you are the game will tell you in a message similar to you being notified of the bell maidens existence.
